A restart would indicate a kernel mode problem. As Thunderbird does not have kernel access, I think perhaps it may be your anti virus (It will have kernel access) trying to scan the new application being loaded into memory.

Install LabVIEW on Windows 7 X64

I'm trying to install LabVIEW from NI Developer Suite Third Quarter 2009 on Windows 7 X64 machine. The install program terminates with an unexpected error. I can install LabWindows/CVI from the same DVDs onto this machine.

I'm adding my own experience in installing LabVIEW 2009 onto Windows 7 (64 bit) in case it helps anyone else, but in fact there's no magic bullet for the problems I had, I did it the hard way.
I saw no error messages at all, just that when the installer wanted DVD no.2, the DVD drive seemed to disappear. Cursor remained as Windows 7 "timer donut", could do very little with PC except "master reset".
I tried:
A different DVD drive
Upgrading to Windows 7 sp1
Compatibility mode for Vista (as suggested above)
In the end I just copied the contents of the 3 install DVDs onto my hard disk. I named the directories as the DVD labels, and was impressed that the installer found all the parts automatically. Until it got to the Device Drivers DVD, which I had forgotten to copy, but mercifully at that stage I could browse to the DVD drive. No special compatibility settings used, but I did run setup.exe "as administrator".
I'll put this down as a Windows 7 bug (and maybe specific to my hardware ?) rather than an NI problem.
Along the way, as part of the sp1 upgrade, I got MS IE9, another great way to drop one's productivity (certainly made posting to this forum impossible, this done on a different machine).

Keychain error when trying to open MobileMe system panel

I've had a lot of problems trying to get my iMac set up with MobileMe. My MacBook and iPod Touch are set up and working fine, but my iMac won't connect up (and never has). Following some advice on a forum here I did something in Keychain Assistant (can't remember what though!) and now I just get an error message when I try to open the system panel. -2147415734
I really don't want to have to do a clean install.
Any solutions?

I just had the same error and found your posting with no reply, so I looked through the Apple Support pages and found the help I needed: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1060. I worked my way down, with no luck, until the next to the last item, "Delete the MobileMe keychain entry." That worked for me, so I didn't need to completely reset my keychain.

Problem installing CF8 on Windows 7 x64

Hello. I am trying to install ColdFusion 8.0.1 64 bit on the Windows 7 RC x64. I already had CF8 on Windows 7 beta 32 bit OS and it ran just fine. For some reason I can't seem to get CF installed. I'm guessing it's because of the fact that it's a 64 bit OS, but I don't understand why. The installation process works fine until I get to the step where I have to configure my web server. I am trying to install CF on an Apache server (which I have successfully done in the past). When I click on the Add button, the JRE window pops up and freezes. Nothing happens when I click on the Browse button to point to the configuration directory or the bin directory. It won't even respond when I try to cancel out of the window. Any ideas are welcome right now, because I'm out. I don't know what to try. Thanks.

- in httpd.conf you'll need to add the config entries to load the jrun
connector module (extract mod_jrun20.so from wsconfig.jar)

Installing Itunes on Windows XP x64

I recently bought an i Pod and I'm trying to install i Tunes on my XP x64 bit computer and I keep getting told that I must have Windows Vista 64 bit. I had i Tunes 32 bit but I was not able to sync my i Pod or burn CD's. Is there anything I can do to be able to sync my i Pod, or am I going to have to return the I pod. Please help my with this and understanding the point behind not letting the XP users use this i Pods like Vista x64 users.

I have been encountering some trouble when trying to install iTunes in my Windows Vista 64-bit PC. When I attempt to install it, it gaves me a HRESULT: 0x80070002 error. I have been looking on the internet for a solution to this and have already tried everything. I also have the same error code when trying to make Windows updates.
I was wondering if there is a solution to this problem or do I have to reinstall my OS to get it right.

I think it would be a good idea to scan for malware as malware often interferes with Windows Update.
Download Malware bytes and run a full scan, there is a free version:

In services, check the Window Update service. It should show as "started" and start up type automatic.
The other thing is to run the system file checker:

This will attempt to fix problems and if it will not run, that is another clue to the problem.

WLAN driver fails to install on G580 Windows 7 x64 with error "BCM4313: Can not find setup file"

I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on my G580. Everything is working fine except the WLAN driver fails to install with the error "BCM4313: Can not find setup file".
Details:
I bought lenovo G580 with Windows 8. Since my parents are not comfortable with the learning curve of Win 8, I successfully downgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Everything is working fine but my WLAN card is not recognized because of lack of driver.
The lenovo parts look-up page says I have broadcom WLAN card - CBT BCM4313 MOW HMC WLAN
I looked at lenovo driver downloads site and tried following driver files for Windows 7 and both of them failed to install with the following error. I tried installing other WLAN drivers also but they won't even install as required hardward is not there.
Error - "BCM4313: Can not find setup file"

Download this driver bcm4313
Start setup and extract the files.After that go to star menu/control panel/system/device manager.There you probably find out that network adapter driver is missing.Choose it and click with right mb for drop menu to show up.Select properties then Driver/Update Drivers...Select to load driver from computer hard drive and choose the path where extract files is.Default path is main partion C: and search for directory named Driver.
And yes...you get "Can not find setup file" error but dont worry.Files needed to instal driver are extract fine.

... okay, it's not that one. a pity because we had a straightforward fix for that one (upgrading to 6.0.3.5 or 6.0.4.2).
your particular message when plugging in an ipod, can be fiddly to troubleshoot. i haven't seen many commonalities amongst the non-6.0.2.23 reports and resolutions. so we'll work through various possibilities that have had some success with various cases of this.
first, let's try some spring cleaning and maintenance. download fresh definitions and run vigorous virus and spyware scans. if your security software providers offer them, do online scans too. (they can sometimes pick up malware if the security software on the PC has been compromised.) head to Windows update and make sure you're up-to-date in that regard too. do a disk cleanup, run your favorite disk checking/repair utility, and do a disk defrag. reboot.
if no joy with that, we'll check to see if you're getting an interaction between your security software and the ipod. as an experiment, try switching off your security software (antivirus, etc) prior to a synch. do you still get the itunes has message then?
if no joy with that, check to see if the drivers on your PC are up to date. this resource might be helpful with that:

Photoshopcc installed fine on windows 8 but when opened windows immediately says problem and shuts program.

I have just installed photoshop and lightroom cc on my windows 8. Lightroom is fine. Photoshop seems fine but a few seconds after opening a windows box says there's a problem and shuts the program. Have tried re-starting computer, signing out and back into the creative cloud app. No adobe tech staff available to ask til monday afternoon (where i live in ireland). Help!

Because of getting the message that I had to uninstall Apple Mobile Support Device and ITunes, in order to get my ITunes to be usable, I did that. While trying to re-install ITunes, all I get on the message is the choice to "save" or "cancel". It will not give me the "run" choice. What am I doing wrong? This should be fairly simple to reinstall, I thought.

What seems strange is that everything else works fine. I can check my rss feeds and I can even type into the google search bar and pull up the website I need. I just can't use the address bar. I'm thinking this might have to do with the new features in Safari 5 but I don't know enough to pin it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This seems to be an issue for other users as well.
Edit: I Have "Reset Safari" and it seems to be working for now. I'll give it a while and see what happens. I thought it was strange that I should have to do this but I read it on another post. It seems to be working so far. Perhaps there is something else though that is crashing it? I'll leave this open until I get a response.

I had this exact problem on Windows XP. As soon as I tried typing in the address bar, crash. Every single time. I also reset everything and it stopped the constant crashes related to the address bar. It still seems much less stable than Safari 4, as I cannot got more than a couple hours without a random crash still occurring.
I have reset Safari again and went a step further and uninstalled it, uninstalled all Apple software, deleted all Apple data from Documents and Setting (All users and my user), reinstalled Safari (and iTunes, mobileme control pane, etc)...still crashing frequently, usually at least once an hour but never less than once every couple hours.
