  • Adobe FlashPlayer Plugin Crash since yesterday "unknown software exception"

    Hello.
Since yesterday i become following message all the time. Reinstallations doesn't work. Only thing that's changed is a new Firefox version.

Usually when something major breaks after an update, we'll get a flood of hundreds of complaints.  I'm not seeing a big spike in error reporting or forum volume, so I'm thinking that the problem is more isolated.
Please reboot your computer and see if the problem persists.  This will eliminate the possibility that you have a process from the old version of Firefox still in memory.
If you continue to experience the crashing after the reboot, please do the following:
In the Firefox address bar, type about:crashes:
You will see one or more links that are hashes of upper-case letters and numbers.
Click each one, and it will take you to a crash log page.
Once the link has been submitted, the name of the link will change to start with "bp-....".
Right click each submitted link and choose Copy Link Location
Paste the links into a reply.  I'll be happy to look at them.

    Solutions does'nt worked !!!!!!!!!!!
Solution 1: Move the TMP variable to its original location on the startup drive (usually the C: drive).
Choose Start > Control Panel > System.
Select Advanced System Settings > Advanced > Environment Variables.
In the System Variables section, select the line that begins with TMP.
Click Edit, and on the Variable Value line type in: %SystemRoot%\TEMP
Click ok out of all the dialog boxes, and restart your computer.
Solution 2: Run Bridge as an Administrator.
    Does'nt work
Each time in the task manager bridge go to  around 3 533 124 k
    W7 64 bits, personal
    RAM 12 Go
External (2)  and internal (2) disks and NAS server
It does'nt change anything the computer is or not connected to the NAS and/or the external hard disks
As far as I know on the 2012/11/14/ at 5pm all my CS6 is updated
I have to go back to Bridge previous version but some features miss me which is a problem as a professionnal. Thanks for an efficient answer.

    Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
    Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE 1: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

  • Over 40 crashes since yesterday; almost no tolerance for heat

I have been running a MacBook Pro for about three years now, and have been plagued with crashes for a long time. I can hardly use it now. Seems to be extremely heat sensitive. I have SMC Fan Control running, as well as sitting it on a cooling stand with two fans. It will crash if the temp rises above about 50 or 55 degrees, and then will not restart til it cools back down. Means I often cannot restart for 10-30 minutes.
Sometimes it crashes on the startup blue screen, sometimes it gets all the way to the login screen but then freezes before I can enter my password. Other times I login but then it crashes before loading. Sometimes I can get to the apps but then it crashes when I load Apple Mail or Firefox or anything. Then, seemingly for no reason, it will just start working fine and I can run for 10 or 20 hours without a hitch, running Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, and other programs without a problem.
Any ideas what is happening here? I sometimes get multicolored streaks across the screen. Other times it seems to "tear" or distort blocks of the screen, or tint a block some odd color, which then returns to normal when that part of the screen refreshes or moves.
I have seen several posts saying that the video cards were defective, but mine is a Radeon X1600, and I don't think they were included in the defective lists.
I am also in a remote area, with no Apple stores within several days' drive, and cannot afford to lose my Mac for a few weeks while it is sent away for repairs. Anything anyone can suggest would be a great help!
    Thanks

Thanks very much Allan for sticking with me on this. I think I'm really coming to understand some things here. Would really appreciate one more reply if you could...
    1) I don't think the mdworker is the problem. Yes it runs heavily when nothing else is on, but if I run apps, it drops down to a very low level. It only seems to take a lot of the CPU when nothing else is running, and that seems logical to me. Just using available resources. So technically, I don't think that that mdworker is my problem.
    2) The system runs flawlessly in safe mode. No heat issues at all. Unfortunately though, it also lacks wireless, audio, video, and other operations that safe mode discontinues. So it's not a suitable working environment. It does though suggest that the issue is something that works in normal mode, but not in safe mode. The big question, of course, is what. I removed everything from the startupItems folders, and also shut down anything I could find that affects normal startup, but the problem is still there in normal mode. It will almost never even let me get to the user sign-in screen; just crashes on the blue screen.
    3) I found this thread from a few months ago, and it includes a screen shot that looks a lot like the trouble I'm having. His problem was a bad video card. Makes me wonder. Here's that thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8487954&#8487954
So with all that said, I'll phone Apple tech support tomorrow to see if I can get them to tackle that mother board, or help me track down the issue. I'm well over warranty, but something has to be done here. This Mac is pretty much dead in normal mode.
Thanks again for your help. Comments Allan or anyone?

  • My iPad crashed and went to a blue screen what can I do to try and fix it. I have tried plugging it in to both the charger and the computer. Need help ASAP it's a gen 3

Please help my gen 3 iPad just crashed to a blue screen I have tried everything to fix it. I've plugged it in to the charger and my computer and it doesn't respond. Any suggestions would be a help

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • Firefox crashes since version 10!! Nothing to do with our computer setups!

This is not so much a question of support but just re-iterating the fact that FF has been constantly crashing on certain Flash scripts since version 10 (but NOT before) on both my machines (win7 notebook and winxp pro desktop), machines that otherwise run all other browsers (opera, ie and chrome) and the entire adobe design suit just fine. I am mentioning Adobe because if any software is super sensitive to hardware problems, it is After Effects.
To add to the pain, since FF 11 (and after updating to win 7 on the xp machine, new install from scratch) now not only on my two machines but also my colleague winxp notebook FF keeps crashing daily and we have now decided to go Chrome until the problem is solved.
We also have quite different setups on all 3 machines and have no other issues with hardware or crashes. We all work with graphics and web design so the setups are fairly streamlined with efficient firewalls and anti-viral software and little in terms of background processes that could disturb the needs of audio recording and video editing software,

The crash report is related to the plugin container ([@ hang | mozilla::plugins::PPluginInstanceParent::CallNPP_Destroy(short*) ] ), so you can check for problems with other plugins as well if updating your old shockwave flash 10.0.2.54 as suggested above isn't sufficient to stop the crashes.

  • Iphone 5c does not work rear camera (screen is black) and a flash light since yesterday. Maybe someone knows what happened.

Yesterday stopped working camera application turns on but the screen is black. It does not work too flashlight. It is gray in the control panel. Maybe somebody know what happened if I need to return my phone service warrants.

    Hello szpryczek,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To troubleshoot issues with your iPhone camera, please follow the steps below.
    Camera
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.
If the issue persists after the previous steps, please click the link below to contact Apple Support.

  • I lost my wifi since yesterday and connot found any network on my ipad 2, 5.1.1.

I lost since yesterday my wifi home network and cannot found any other network on my ipad 2 , 5.1.1.
I tried a system reset, but it did nothing

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

  • Xfce4-sensors-plugin crashes since update yesterday

    Hello,
as stated in the headline, I'm using xfce4 with the
    extra/xfce4-sensors-plugin 0.10.99.6-2 (xfce4-goodies)
plugin. Since yesterday (I updated my system with yaourt -Syu --aur) it crashes constantly if I try to start it in the panel.
If I try too start it on command line:
    $ xfce4-sensors
    Segmentation fault
The strange thing is: I installed aur/xfce4-sensors-plugin-git 20091013-1 - and it worked!
Would be very nice if the maintainer of the xfce4-sensors-plugin could fix this abboying bug!
    Thanks!

I have searched a little bit around how to analyse an Segfault and found gdb. Here is the gdb output:
