The music is stored on the iTunes library. This library isn't deleted when you uninstall or reinstall iTunes, so you will keep everything. Anyway, it's better to make a backup of the library. Apart from that, you can download the purchased music as many times as you want -

Select: Contacts
Give iCloud a few minutes to sync the data.

I have just bought a new computer and downloaded the latest version of itunes. It has all installed fine, but when I plug my ipod and sync it, the music library shows all the songs and videos that are on there, but won't let me play them. Also, I can't add any new songs to the same library. It saves them elsewhere. I have had the previous version on another computer and it worked just fine. I have been online trying to find an answer but nothing. Hope someone can help me. Thanks
Installing iTunes does not cause content to magically appear on the computer.
Your media is only where you put it.
iOS devices are not backup devices.
Copy the media from the old computer to the new computer. -

You need to move your iTunes library and other important data(contacts, calendars, pics, etc.) from your old computer to your new computer:

Once you do that, authorize your new computer(Store>Authorize this Computer), then backup your iPhone on your new computer, then restore your phone from that backup, followed by syncing your iTunes content back to your phone. The iTunes content currently on your phone will be erased when you first sync on your new computer, but if you move your entire library, you'll just sync the same content back to your phone. -

You need to use a 3rd party utility such as Touchcopy - this will allow you to rebuild your library on the computer from the iPhone.

I have a child with special needs who uses an IPOD touch with the proloquo2go speaking program to communicate. We just bought a new itouch and it requires that he enter a password before he can open his speaking program. He is intellectually challenged and this additional step (having to think of that 4 digit code) is distracting him from what he wanted to communicate. I want to remove this password screen as a transition to function. Can anyone help me? Every tutorial I have found concerns removing the password or re-setting it. I need to remove that PROCESS.
Do you mean the lock screen passcode?
Settings > General > Passcode Lock > enter your passcode > Turn Passcode Off.
If it is not the lock screen passcode and is only requested when opening this particular app, you may want to check the settings within the app. -

You have to start by erasing your phone. If you have any newer data on your phone that is not contained in the backup you'll need to save that first. Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts, choosing the backup of your old phone to restore from.
Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.

I have just bought a new computer and downloaded itunes. I plugged in my iphone and upgraded to the newest itunes/ synched etc. Now have no music or apps on the phone. Contacts, texts, photos all fine. Just all itunes content that is missiing. It isn't showing in my itunes account on my computer or on my phone. Any idea how to get it back? (No point synching with itunes on my computer as it isn't there either!)
I suggest copying your entire iTunes library to your new computer, also you might want to copy the photos you want to save. Then sync your device to the new iTunes and copy over your music, documents and photos that you want.
If you are no longer going to use the old computer you should open up iTunes on the old computer and use the menu to deauthorize it. Be sure to use the same iTunes menu on your new computer to Authorize the new one. -
