I just bought a new iMac in Hong Kong like 3 weeks ago and the new one had just released today. WHAT CAN I DO?
THIS IS VERY UNFAIR FOR ME. I HAD UPGRADED AND PUT EXTRA MONEY ON THAT.
THE REFUND POLICY IS 30DAYS IN USA BUT 14 DAYS IN HK.
WHAT CAN I DO? MY MAC IS JUST 3 WEEKS OLD.
If Hong Kong truly has a 14 day limit on returns, I would recommend that you go into the nearest Apple Store and kindly and politely ask to speak to the Store Manager. Patiently explain your situation to him and ask him if there is any way he can help you out. I have used this approach myself in the past with a related issue and got surprisingly good results from the Manager. (The Managers have extensive freedom to take care of their customers if they truly want to.) Best wishes.
Hope this helps

I bought an Apple I-Phone-6 in Canada 4 weeks ago and this week I got promoted to a job in Paris France. Does my I-phone6 will be compatible with local France network or do I have to buy one there ?
You would be better off to sell your current iPhone while still in Canada and
get a new one in France. Your current Canadian iPhone will not work on 4G/LTE
in France, and your warranty will be only valid in Canada. -
My new iPod plays the music over and over again. It does not stop and the volume buttons have no effect. What can I do? The RESTRICTIONS require a a passcode and I don't have one. Any suggestions?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup.
In order to restore with the unknown Restrictions passcode you will likely have to place the iPod in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Last,
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device. -
For the last couple of months I've noticed that my iMac has become really slow and sometimes freezes. I've always updated all my Programs and only use apple stuff. No shady software. I'm just trying to figure out if there's something that I can do as far as maintenance, etc to fix this
See the following:
Kappy's Personal Suggestions for OS X Maintenance
For disk repairs use Disk Utility. For situations DU cannot handle the best third-party utilities are: Disk Warrior; DW only fixes problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by directory corruption; Disk Warrior 4.x is now Intel Mac compatible. TechTool Pro provides additional repair options including file repair and recovery, system diagnostics, and disk defragmentation. TechTool Pro 4.5.1 or higher are Intel Mac compatible; Drive Genius is similar to TechTool Pro in terms of the various repair services provided. Versions 1.5.1 or later are Intel Mac compatible.
OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.) If this isn't the case, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep. Dependence upon third-party utilities to run the periodic maintenance scripts had been significantly reduced in Tiger and Leopard. These utilities have limited or no functionality with Snow Leopard and should not be installed.
OS X automatically defragments files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive. As for virus protection there are few if any such animals affecting OS X. You can protect the computer easily using the freeware Open Source virus protection software ClamXAV. Personally I would avoid most commercial anti-virus software because of their potential for causing problems.
I would also recommend downloading the shareware utility TinkerTool System that you can use for periodic maintenance such as removing old logfiles and archives, clearing caches, etc. Other utilities are also available such as Onyx, Leopard Cache Cleaner, CockTail, and Xupport, for example.
For emergency repairs install the freeware utility Applejack. If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the commandline. Note that AppleJack 1.5 is required for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard.
When you install any new system software or updates be sure to repair the hard drive and permissions beforehand. I also recommend booting into safe mode before doing system software updates.
Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
Backuplist
Carbon Copy Cloner
Data Backup
Deja Vu
iBackup
JaBack
Silver Keeper
MimMac
Retrospect
Super Flexible File Synchronizer
SuperDuper!
Synchronize Pro! X
SyncTwoFolders
Synk Pro
Synk Standard
Tri-Backup

No device
HP sent me two replacment cables because after using them once both when plugged in the 2nd time, gave me the screen saying i need to use the cable meant for the device. HP determined they needed to replace my unit and sent me a new one but after again using the cable once then plugging in again to charge and load new books, the unit gives me the screen about using the cable right for the device, I used all 4 cables I now have, all are not even a month old, I even tried the cable the came with the unit when I first bought it. HP now has no email or chat support and I cannot access my pad for my books including text books for college and my portfolio. can anyone help me??Only folks left here are volunteers, not employed by HP.
You'll need to contact HP by phone. Check the "Support" link at the top of each page here on the forum, and navigate to the touchpad pages for info.

I bought my iPhone 5 three months ago, it's new! And now when I connect it to the charger the following message appears "This cable or accessory is not certificated and may not work as a reliable mode at this iPhone", but it must be reliable! I bought it in a Apple store! What should I do?

As Lawrence said, time to take a look at your friends. If you friend vouched for this person, ask you friend if they are willing to refund your money. You will find out how loyal your friend was to which one of you.

My old IMAC is a few years old. Just bought a new one OS X 10.8.2. The old one is OS X 10.5.8. Can I install Lion or equivalent and then synch both on ICLOUD. Or is there another way to synch the two computers.
You can use Migration Assistant in Applications > Utilities to get all your files from one iMac to the other. If you want to upgrade your older model to MtLion you need to have at least a mid 2007 Intel Core 2 Duo with a bare minimum of 2GB of RAM. Then you need to buy the Snow Leopard 10.6.3 DVD , update with
Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
at which point you can access the App Store to purchase and install MtLion 10.8 where you would then have access to the iCloud. -
I just bought a new iMac 27'' a week ago and been having problems every morning when i come to the office with turing the system on. I have to unplug the power cord for 10 secs and replug for it to turn on. Kindly pls advise
Anyone having the same problem?Makes no difference if anyone is having the same problem. The important thing is that it's happening to YOU!
You have 14 days to return the computer w/no questions asked.
Strongly suggest that you take FULL advantage of the above before it runs out. Let Apple deal w/the problems. -
Hello I hope somebody can help. I have an ipod classic 6th generation which has a 160gb MK1626GCB HDD in it. This drive has failed so I bought a new one. I don't know how I've managed it but I've ended up with a 160gb MK1634GAL. The connectors on the hdds are different on the hdd end but look the same on the mb end. Can I just get a different ribbon so it fits? Ive looked for one and have found a couple of different ones and the seem to be specific to the ipod although I cannot find one specific for the 160g. Can anyone shed some light onto this?
Your computer is called an iMac.
Did you turn proxies on? If so, you should turn them off. -

i have elements 7 loaded on my laptop. I bought a new one and want to load it onto the new one. I talked to someone on adobe site last night and he gave me a link to down load it. it failed so i googled it, and the downloaded it just fine. I went on to the adobe site signed in and looked at my product history and got the product #, however, when i entered the product # i it didn't likeit. What do i do?
Is your laptop running Windows XP, windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1? If so then I suggest download a tool that will retrieve the serial number from the old laptop which you can use it on your new machine. The tool is called:
Belarc Advisor
It can be downloaded from here:
<http://www.belarc.com/Programs/advisorinstaller.exe>
Install this and then run it by double clicking on its icon and then wait for about 5 minutes while it generates all the info about your machine and software keys.
