  • I have bought an Iphone 4 16g but the Tmobile Sim card which fitted my IPhone 3 does not fit into the IPhone 4

If anyone has any advice or information I would be very grateful. It appears that the Sim "holder" is too small for my Sim card used in the IPhone 3.

You should get a new micro-SIM from T-Mobile. It is possible to cut down a standard SIM, but often that leads to erratic behavior or destruction of the SIM.

I just bought an Apple TV and i have a bose sounddock with a mini jack in the back and and optical cord with a mini adapter on it (so optical cord going into the Apple TV and the mini adapter on the other end going into my bose dock but i dont get sound?

Not all the sound docks accept both analogue and optical on the auxillary input - I don't think the portable ones does but may be wrong - check the user manual.
As I said earlier all the mini optical (min Toslink) adapter does it make the optical connector fit a smaller socket, it does not convert digital audio to analogue for an analogue only auxillary input.

When will Apple ever make it convenient for the customer, I just bought an iPad Air and I'm very upset that I can only use iMessage, iPads are the biggest mistake to buy if you like texting family and friends. I'll never buy another one if I can't text using SMS or MMS.  Is there any hope for a patch or new operating system to fix this issue, or an app to use with iPad Air

  • I have updated my iphone 3gs to ios 5 from 4.1 and it has locked back to the original sim card in america as i live in ireland is there any way i can unlock ios 5 or delete it off my iphone and go back to 4.1 ?

I have   updated my iphone 3gs to ios 5 from 4.1 and it has locked back to the orginal sim card in america but as i live in ireland an american simcard wont work here is there any way i can unlock ios  5 or delete it off my iphone and go back to 4.1 so i can use my iphone ?

It sounds like you have a hacked/unofficially unlocked iphone.  When you update, it will indeed lock it back, as it should.
The ONLY place that can legitimately unlock an iphone is the carrier to which they are locked and no U.S. carrier does this.

  • I bought an iPhone 5 but does not accept sim card. How to do?

I bought an iPhone 5 but does not accept sim card. How to do?

Exactly, what do you mean by "does not accept sim card"? Are you saying you purchased a carrier locked iPhone & you can't use a sim from a different carrier? If so, that's the way it works. Carrier locked iPhones can only be used/activated on the carrier's network the phone is locked to. Either return it for a refund or contact the carrier the phone is locked to to see if they offer official unlocking.

  • Does the iPhone 5 lock its self to the first sim card installed ?

I bought an iPhone 5 , and the first sim i put in was a 02 sim card , that credit lasted about 20 days then i put in a giff gaff sim card , i have had this for a while now , i have now got a PAYG ee sim  but it tells me that the sim is not valid and i should try with a different sim , i tried with a three sim and it said the same , it said something about an activation process ...  Please help , does the iPhone need unlocking ?

Where did you purchasd the phone? iPhones sold at the Apple store and purchased unlocked are unlocked. If you purchase at another location, they will be carrier locked. I have read phones purchased at Carphone Warehouse lock to the first SIM installed.
What happens if you try to put in another 02 SIM, does it work? If the phone is locked, you will have to contact the carrier it is locked with to see if they offer unlocking services and if you qualify. Only the carrier the phone is locked to can authorize the unlock.

  • Just bought a new iMac and there is an offer to upgrade to Windows 8 on the receipt. Bootcamp compatible?

Just as the title says, I bought a new iMac and on the receipt it says that this product qualifies for Windows 8 upgrade offer and says to go to windowsupgradeoffer. I downloaded it and it gave me a file called Windows8-UpgradeAssistant.exe. Can I use this file to Bootcamp my Mac of do I have to actually buy Windows 8? Can I change it to on iso image to use Bootcamp?

You can use that file you would need to but the full version of Windows 8.  but the good new is that you can install Windows 8, take a look at this link, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5628?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

  • I have just bought an iphone 3G not 3Gs, the operating system is 4.2.1. I know I cannot update this but why can't I buy music ringtones.

I have just purchased an iphone 3 (not 3Gs) and am happy with it but why can't I purchase a music ringtone or any ringtone other than the pre installed list?

iOS 4.2.1 is the most recent, and probably last, version that an iPhone 3G can run. If you need apps that require IOS 4.3 or later, you're stuck. You should have purchased an iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S, all of which can run iOS 5.

The iPhone 4 may not work with a cut down SIM. Get a microSIM from your carrier when you set up service.

  • Can I get my phone unlocked? It's locked on tmobile because it's the first SIM card I used when I got the phone from apple

my phone needs unlocking after using a tmobile sim in it yet apple says all phones are unlocked when bought but tmobile cannot help me on this so I'm hoping I can get help here

    Hullo Paul,
Merry Christmas, thanx for the reply. Yes I have spoken to them but because I didn't purchase the phone from them they cannot get it unlocked. I have spoken to different people pleaded, explained myself nothing worked. I have also contacted Apple who also said they couldn't help so apple asked me to contact tmobile and tmobile asked me to contact apple so I went in circles till I gave up, it's been six months now just feel disappointed I only used the phone to set it up with my tmobile sim them but that was it, can't use it anymore unless it's a tmobile sim which I don't have anymore.
    THanx again

  • Is the Iphone 4 compatible with "Pay & Go" Sim Cards?

I'm thinking of purchasing an Iphone 4G, but I'm not old enough to apply for a contract, so there's no way of me being able to phone anyone. My question is if it's possible for me to:
    1) Purchase an Iphone 4G with a "No Term", meaning no contract.
    2) Then insert a "Pay & Go" Sim Card, which will allow me to pay a certain amount of money on it when ever i want, & then use my phone for calls, etc... until the money runs out?
Will this allow me to access the internet & call other phones?
    Thanks!
    Additional Details
One little detail. I might buy the phone in Germany and use it in Canada... Will the Pay and go sim work?

Unlocking & no contract are two entirely different things. An officially unlocked phone can be used on any compatible carriers network with the appropriate activated sim. No contract means that the phone is not subsidized, you pay full price, but are commitment free. No contract phones can still be carrier locked, I.E.- in the US you can purchase a no contract iphone at full price, but the phone is still locked to AT&T.

Thanks for your reply. My Mac is running 10.5.8: it's 4 years old.  When I try to update the OS software, I'm told there are none available.
Be careful - there's a difference between update and upgrade.  Your machine is saying there are no updates available, meaning no later versions of OS X 10.5 (Leopard).  However, you can very likely upgrade - at least to OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), and possibly then to OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion).
Updates are free, but upgrades cost a bit.  That's the dirference.

There are only two things that you must do to connect a device to calendars:
    1)  In settings>icloud, you must log in, WITH THE CORRECT ID/PASSWORD, and
    2)  Turn on calendars on the same page.
You said that the iphone 4 and ipad **used** to automatically sync.  Do they no long sync?
