I just bought an IPOD Touch 5th and just realized that there is no place  to insert it into a Bose Docking Station to play the music from the IPOD thru the Bose, any suggestions.  The 4th Generation had a larger hole to connect to the docking station.

I just purchased a new IPOD Touch 5th and use a BOSE Docking Station.  I just realized this new IPOD does not have the hole in the bottom to
place it on the Docking Station like the IPOD 4 did.  Do you have any suggestions?  Does this not dock?

There are adapters that are available in the iTunes store.

  • I am trying to put the music from my ipod onto my new computer. After installing itunes and connecting my ipod touch a message comes up saying that my ipod is already synced with another library. What can I do to sync it with a new library?

I recently got a new computer and got rid of my old one. I am trying to put the music from my ipod touch onto my new computer but keep getting a message saying that my ipod is already synced with a library and cannot be synced with more than one. How do I access that library on my new computer and if I can't are their other ways for me to put the music on my ipod into my new computer?

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your ipod. Only if you back up your iPod manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your ipod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your iPod for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the ipod for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

  • I accidently erased all the music from my iPod and it isn't in my iTunes because I just got a new computer.

I was trying to transfer the music from my iPod to my new iTunes via a third party program, and I ended up erasing all of the music from my iPod.  I am unable to get onto the iTunes on my old computer, where all my music was stored, and the iTunes on my new computer, of course, has nothing in it.  So now I have no music on either my iPod or iTunes.  At this point, I don't really care about the things I didn't purchase from iTunes.  I'm just wondering if there is any way to get all the music back that I've purchased from iTunes in the past without having to purchase it again, other than by downloading it.

You don't have to purchase it again, but you do have to download it.  See Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

Syncing music via iTunes is only one way: from iTunes to your iPod.  If you need to copy the music from your iPod back to your PC, see this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different ways to do this.

  • How to transfer the music from an Ipod touch to another one

How can I transfer the music from an Ipod touch to another one

Assuming you synced the contents to the first iPod Touch, you just plug the second iPod Touch into the same instance of iTunes and select to sync the music.  If your original iTunes library is on a hard drive which has failed, then restore that from your backup and follow the above procedures.

How do i take the music from my ipod and transfer it permanently onto my PC's itunes?

If you were using a Mac you could use a program but AFAIK there is nothing similar yet for the PC.
However, you should have a backup of your music, correct? Just restore from that backup to your computer (and, if not, at least this will teach you the importance of always backing up your music purchases onto writable media like DVD).

  • How can i pass the music from my ipod touch to my mac

how can i pass the music from my ipod touch to my mac

If the music on the iPod was purchased through iTunes you can try Transfer Purchases.
Connect the iPod to the Mac and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPod name on the left side of the iTunes window under the devices heading and select Transfer Purchases. That should transfer the music into the iTunes library on the Mac.

  • HT1329 Is there any way I can get the music from my iPod to my new laptop?

So recently my computer broke, taking all of my music with it, and now I only have the music on my iPod. Is there any way I can take the music from my iPod and put it on my new laptop?

You can't transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store).  However, there are methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the song files are on your computer, you can add them to your new computer's iTunes library.

Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time.  It will recognize the iTunes library on the PC as a new library.  If you sync the iPod with this new library, all content will be erased from the iPod and replaced with what is in the new library.  So what you will want to do is copy everything from the iPod to your new iTunes library on your PC first.

    Hello cgbuehling
You can, but only the purchases that were made from the iTunes Store. Other content that was imported from a CD or other sources will not transfer over.
