I just bought my IPAD 3 will not activate says activation server cannot be reach. How to fix this and should I take it back and get a different one.

I have never had anything apple before and I just bought this IPAD 3rd gen. I begin doing the process of starting it up. I get to activation and it wont go any further. I have tried numerous times. Says "Your IPad cannot be activated because the activation server cannot be reachrf. Try connecting you iPad to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes." I am lost. Not a tech guru... Any help is wonderful. And is this a good model?

Nevermind. All i had to do was close out of itunes and reopen it and then it activated it. If anyone else is having this problem, try that trick and i hope it helps

I upgraded from an iphone 4 to a 4s, after a few initial problems and two restores, everythings seemed to be working...until I went to play some music, all music loaded to itunes via CD's played, but ALL purchased music from itunes does not play...i click on the song and the screen flashes to the image then goes back to the list of songs, so the purchased music shows up...just does not play. here is an interesting thing: take the iphone and set lock screen to never. Now make an email with siri--be sure to activate her with call button. get to the body and get some text in there. then just stop talking. LOCK SCREEN APPEARS!!!!!! and of course you draft is gone.
There does seem to be a work around for some--maybe all these issues. Don't use the call button--use the buttons on the phone.
Siri seems to behave properly with scenerio above---sans call button. She does not go to lock.

I have music match. Several songs are combined on one song so that it will not download from the cloud, does anyone know how to fix this?

I have one song listed but when I go to download it from the cloud it shows 480 songs and never downloads it. This is music that I own so I don't understand why this isn't working right. Can anyone help?

Delete the current copy of the song from iTunes and then download again (free) from your purchased history.
If the problem persists contact iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history.

I found the following that goes over troubleshooting the same issue for the iPhone. I know you have an iPad, but the steps should still apply:
Perform the following steps:
Restart the iPhone.
Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
Try connecting to a known-good Wi-Fi network if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Apple for assistance.

i have the iPad with Retina display Wi-Fi - 16GB
here is what happened around 1 i got the notification to update to ios7 well i didnt have enough room on the ipad so i figured i would erase all content and settings well after that i got the normal set up screens and what not got all the way through to activation and then it says, your ipad could not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached. try connecting your ipad to itunes to activate it, or try again in a couple minutes. if this problem persists, contact apple support at apple.com/support SO with that i have tried the try again button about 50 times now, iv tried to hook up to itunes and i get this, we could not complete your itunes store request. the network connection was reset. make sure your network connection is active and try again, have no clue what that means but anyways other things i also tried iv tried to put it in restore mode and hook it up well that lets me hook it up and it gets me to the restore option but it also wants to update at the same time iv tried this about 6 times now and it keeps failing
i dont know what to do any more im ready to smash the silly thing.

Can anyone help - my mail on my ipad will not connect to the server. My internet access is fine. How can I get my email to connect to the server?

My ipad will not connect tot he server when trying to access my mail. This has been happening since last Sunday. Some have said it is due to the latest software update. I am able to connect to the internet.
I am not having this issue on iPhone.
I checked all the settings, the wireless router in my house and at work.
I have completed a hard reset of the device.
I had our IT guy at work look at it.
He said to contact Apple....
Any thoughts?

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. When the red slider appears, release the Sleep/Wake button.
Instead of dragging the red slider, press and hold the Home button for six seconds.

You are looking at the amount of storage that you have available on the actual iPad (Settings > General > About > Available) and not the amount that you have in the cloud (Settings > iCloud) ?

You are running into the activation lock.

You have to either enter the Apple/iCloud ID and password in order to activate the iPod for use. Or you can try to dissassociate the iPod for that account by:

Wait for a while and try again
Try activating your iPad using another WiFi network
Ask someone who does have a computer running iTunes for help.
Take your iPad to an Apple Store and ask them for help.
