Is the screen-rotation lock in on? if so, turn it off.
Next try restoring the iPod to factory settings/new iPod. If still problem that indicates a hardware problem.

The manual does not show that feature natively for the iPod. Later iPhones and iPads have that feature natively. -

Try the standard fixes in squence:
- Reset the iPod (may not work because of power button problem).
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore the iPod from backup
- Restore the iPod to factoery defaults/new iPod
If you still have a problem, it is likely due to a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -

Hi my ipod touch 2nd generation was working fine one night and the next morning it was off and would not power on and not charge and when i plug it into computer it is not reconized nor will it charge. My iPod touch 2nd Gen won't install ipa's from the app store or iTunes. What should I do?
I have tried to install apps via the app store and via iTunes. I am using a freshly restored stock 4.2.1 firmware.
- Yes, the app in question was 'Doodle Jump' which states that it is compatible with iPod touch 4.2.1
- No, restrictions are switched off
- I get a message of iTunes saying 'iTunes is unable to sync iPod'
- When I purchase the application via App Store on my iPod, I get a 'bubble message' saying "Unable to Download Application" 'Doodle Jump will be available for download when you log in to the iTunes Store on your computer'
The issue is only with my iPod touch, I don't experience this issue with my iPhone or iPad.
I have already purchased 'Doodle Jump' on my iPhone and it installed correctly from the App Store. -

I just updated my Ipod touch and it said there was a error and I had to restore my ipod to use it again through Itunes. So I did this and erased all my music. How do I get back all the songs I just bought and all the apps back on my touch, without having to rebuy them?
They should be in itunes on your computer. Certainly you did not update before syncing your ipod to your computer. Just sync them back to the ipod, the same way you normally sync.
