Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

I downloaded a free game last night and since then under the shared tab in my finder it says "hp002655a82ea0" and the only info I can get about it is that it is a pc. Then under console I see several "stealth mode connection" attempts ti TCP 192.168.1.107:##### from 74.125.225.82.443. The second number has jumped around and sometimes starts with 192. I dont really know what those numbers are but how do I stop them from attempting to get through my firewall and kick them out of my shared tab??? I want to ask some question about ipads \
How powerful is the iPad?
How useful is it for reading books, newspaper or magazines or for surfing the web?
Can you identify any shortcomings of the device?
please help meit's less powerful than your average computer. THink of it like a netbook but with a better processor.
It'll do fine for surfing (although if you browse a lot of flash based sites you will need to get a third party browser since safari doesn't accommodate it)
You may do OK on reading books, papers or magazines, especially if they have apps, but the ipad's screen is backlit, so it doesn't work well outdoors and you may need to fiddle with the brightness so that you don't get eye strain (it's just like doing too much reading from a computer screen)
I would say the biggest short comings are data transfer. Apple's preferred work flow is that everything is done via iTunes or the internet....well people dont' always have 100% reliable always on internet access so you can find yourself in a situation where you can't get things on/off the iPad.
By and large, it's a good device for day to day stuff, but is not a computer replacement. -
getting the error message"your apple ID has been disabled" . I reset my ID password last night and am still having the same issue.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

If you have a backup in iTunes you can just hover the mouse over the backup to see the serial number.
Open iTunes and mouse over a device backup:
Open Preferences in iTunes. (In Mac OS X, choose iTunes > Preferences. In Windows, choose Edit > Preferences.)
Click the Devices tab.
Position the mouse over a backup to display the phone number, serial number, and IMEI or MEID of the backed-up iPhone.

Help!!!!!! I'm about going out of my mind....Need help loading music to my 1st generation I pod and keep getting error 50 message. I have windows xp and loaded new software last night. This all started when I upgraded to itunes 10 awile ago. My computer recognises my ipod and I think its syncing don't know...My library is intact and can't load any music from my library...purchases...or gene ....itunes 10 wiped my custom play list...and now nothing...I used ipod reset utility to restore my ipod to factory settings and still nothing....I don't have alot of computer knowledge and need someone to walk me threw on what to do. I'm at a loss. And about ready to give up on Apple and the I-tunes experiense....I am in dire need. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Occasionally hotmail will open just fine but I cannot access any of my listed e-mails or files. At the same time everything works just fine in Chrome. Eventually the problem on Mozilla sorts itself out somehow and I can then open e-mail through that browser again. I don't make any changes on my system to correct the problem.

Are you trying to call yourself to test FaceTime? If so, you must have a second E-Mail address registered with your Apple ID. In other words, there must be a different E-Mail address on each unit.
