Where did you download the file from? Does the file have PDF filename extension? And where are you getting the message that it's not a PDF file? In Reader or Acrobat?

I just downloaded CS6 and the doucmentation says I should have HTML5 Video as an option under Insert Media and I do not. why?

I just downloaded CS6 because the website said I could link to .mp4 videos with the new features. I did not download the CC because I was told by support that it is the same as CS6 but you would be billed monthly. I was following the instructions to Embed video in HTML5 and I followed all the steps until the step for Insert - Video and select HTML5 Video. My software does not have this option. The plain hard truth is CS6 on perpetual license is not the same software as CS6 on the Creative Cloud. Version 12 will never get new bells & whistles added to it. But 4 months after CS6 came out, the Cloud version received 2 significant upgrades that totally changed the software from what you have. This fact frustrated many Cloud users who were trying to learn CS6 from text books that were rendered obsolete by Cloud upgrades. Anyway, it was a very confusing time for everyone. And that's why there are 2 versions of CS6.

if the song cuts off early try deleting it out of your library then going to the new "Purchased" feature and redownloading (its free). I had to do this with some of my tracks that didn't fully download (though they said they did). Once I redownloaded I had the entire song no problem.
Make sure you delete the file completly from computer...that way iTunes will see that it is not already downloaded and will allow you to download it again.

Try to open mov file with quicktime, says can't open pdf files.

Hi to everyone,
Suddenly I try to open a mov, any mov file, with quicktime 10.4 and some times opens the finder and nothing more, some times says that it cannot open one pdf document ( a document I actually have but never try to open with QT). some times QT says it canot open some png or jpg file.
But I double click mov files. And the incoherence is permanent, I mean that for the same movie file says it can't open the same pdf file, and in other file the same png, or the same jpg.. it depends on the mov file I try to open. Like if somewhere, somme kind of cache, adresse or reference is wrong.
this is the text of one of those messages when I double click a mov file:
"The document “phoenixRoomfillerB_v001_0104.jpg” could not be opened. QuickTime Player cannot open files in the “JPEG image” format."
And if I try again and again, at some point QT open only the finder window.
The weird thing is that on the finder window i can see the preview and play the preview. and the same mov files play well with VLC. And if I copy the mov file to my desktop it plays well unless QT start to open only the finder window, if that happens it does not work anymore with any file.
The files are on an external drive with 3 partitions.
And I make all the possible cleaning that I can:
I am the administrator of the imac and I am the only one to use it.
I am the owner of the volume
I use disk utility to check and everything is ok
I use onyx to clean as much as possible, cache, boot, volume structure, smart status, home folder permissions, kernel, extensions, QT components, etc. and everything works fine.
Imac 27 inch late 2012.

As Niel says, no way to go past 10.5.8 on your Mac, but there is a more upto date Browser...

Hello< so i posted this question because my ipod touch thats about a year to 2 years old has stopped turning on randomly. I was using it not even 5 mins before this happened and all it was doing was sitting on my lap while i was texting some quickly before i was going to go back on. when i tried to it would not turn on i tried holding the power button iot did not work, so i left it pluged in for the night in hoping it wold turn back on. when i woke up this morning it did not, so i tried pluging it in to my computer to see if it would show something so i could at least reset it but it did not. so now i am stuck.
If anyone could help me out that would be wonderful!

Just bought my first video from iTunes Store and should watch it with my son. I had to authorize, this and that for some time, but finally I got the video in my iTunes, but it was just a black screen. Nothing playing and no sound (of course). So I tried VLC and it was at least runing there, but no screen and no sound. Quick time said I had to authorize my iTunes acount first (which I had done several times before) and did it again with just the same result, nothing happening. What's wrong? I'm no geek so please help me out with this, I thought it should be easy piecy with a iMac and iTunes, well, hope it was a one in a million problem.

My Airport Extreme just stopped working. The message says ethernet cable not plugged in, but it is. Cable modem works fine. Is this a common problem?

My 2-year-old Airport Extreme instantly stopped working last night and is flashing the status light. The problem description is that the ethernet cable is not plugged in... however, the ethernet cable is still plugged into the cable modem. I checked the modem by plugging directly into my laptop... it works fine. Is this a common problem? Is there anything I can try other than sending it in for warranty repair?

At this point, before sending it back, I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
Disconnect the AirPort base station from the Internet broadband modem.
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Reconnect the AirPort base station to the Internet broadband modem. For the Extreme and Time Capsule, be sure to connect the cable to the base station's WAN (circle-of-dots) port.
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it adequate time to initialize.
Power-up the AirPort base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes. Note: The AirPort's status light may continue to flash amber after it has intialized. That is because, there may be some additional configuration items necessary, like setting up wireless security, before the overall setup is completed to get a green status.
Power-up your computer(s).
In this basic configuration, the AirPort base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Network clients, connected to the base station either by wire or wireless, should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options. Please post back your results.

What does it mean when the computer says it does not detect a battery?

Its usually on the house power when its on the desk, and it has been connected all night. So what does this mean? I have had this machine about 2 weeks, and should not have to replace a battery this soon.

You need to install Mac OS X 10.6 or 10.6.3 from a retail DVD first; these are available at the online Apple Store.
