I just downloaded adobe flash, but games still saying I need to load.

I downloaded and installed Adobe Flash, restarted my computer, and tried to play Zuma Blitz or Farkle (through Facebook).  It keeps saying I need to install Adobe Flash.  When I click the link (I thought maybe there was an update???), it takes me to the exact same download I just did.

Hello.  I have almost the same problem it seems.
I have reinstalled Adobe Flash Player (latest), used the Uninstaller from the website. It installs correctly.
Even tho it doesnt seem right when i check my programs installed.
Because before i had 2 Adobe Flash Player (i use CCleaner for this), I got the Adobe Flash Player Plugin 64-bit
and another at name Adobe Flash Player 11 something. And before i did the same thing as i did now.
But it should probably be only the Plugin one.
Anyways. When i try to watch Youtube videos, it won't use Flash Player at all. And Firefox says
i have Flash Player, and its up to date and everything.  But Youtube wont use it. Some do odd enough.
    Vimeo use it tho.
And now i came across this thread, and i tried that Profile thing you told. And it does work with a new profile.
With the same Youtube video (copy link from old Profile). So i guess it's the profile that's broken.
    Example of videos:
    Doesnt work:       http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3PMCD7aMRI&hd=1
    Works just fine:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZ46Ot4_lLo&feature=related&hd=1
But how could i fix this then?  Cause i realy don't want to do a new profile and lose all the settings etc i have at the moment.
Would be realy awesome if you could provide a fix for me
I might have been unclear on some things, not that good at english at some points.
So just ask if you need more info and ill try to provide it for you.

  • You listed plugins to be updated and I went ahead with Adobe Acrobat but it still says it needs updating.

I went on your page where it mentions plug-ins that are outdated. I went ahead to update Adobe Acrobat but it still says it is outdated. What did I do wrong?

Hi garyd11, has Adobe Reader ever run correctly on your PC, in other words, is this a new problem? Actually, regardless of your answer, if Adobe Reader has crashed, I suspect that restarting Windows might help.

  • TS3772 I believe I downloaded Quick Time, but Itunes still says I need it. can you help.

  • I downloaded new version but firefox still says I need to update - why, and if there's an "install" step I'm missing why are there no instructions on how to do so???

Why does Firefox insist that I'm still using version 3.whatever when I have faithfully downloaded new versions when it tells me to do so -- most recently version 8.whatever (today). If "downloading" isn't enough and there's also an "install" step, I have yet to find anywhere in the Firefox that tells me how to do so. I have restarted my computer, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. It still tells me I'm using an outdated version that soon will not be supported.

What you are seeing sounds like the "advertised update" from Firefox 3.6 versions to Firefox 8.0.1 that started on 2011-12-01. See --> https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases/Firefox_3.6_MU
This is the same as has occurred when prior versions were nearing their end-of-life. Support for Firefox 3.6 versions is likely to end in the first quarter of 2012.
There are changes in the interface from Firefox 3.6 to Firefox 4 and newer versions. See --> https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/common-questions-after-updating-firefox
The new Firefox version can be made to closely resemble the 3.6 Firefox interface.
    #See --> http://www.computertechtips.net/64/make-firefox-4-look-like-ff-3-6/
    #See --> http://blog.fligtar.com/2011/01/16/how-to-customize-firefox-4s-ui/
    #See --> '''''Firefox 3 Theme for Firefox 4''''': https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firefox-3-theme-for-firefox/
#*Add color home, back/forward and other buttons (like Firefox 3) to the Navigation Toolbar in place of the gray buttons in Firefox 4
    #*See: http://ffaddons.game-point.net/ff3ff4/
    #Also see --> http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+customize+the+toolbar
The only currently supported versions are 3.6.24 and 8.0.1. Firefox 9.0 will be released on or about 2011-12-20 and will completely replace Firefox 8.0.1; an update to Firefox 3.6.25 from Firefox 3.6.24 will likely occur around that same time to correct any new security/stability issues found in Firefox 3.6.24.

  • Just installed mountain lion but firefox still saying I need to upgrade to work latest version

When pushing the update tab or going directly to mozilla site it says "your system doesn't meet the requirements to run firefox"

What is the current user agent as shown on the browserspy.dk site?
Did you reset all general.useragent prefs to the default?

I just downloaded Adobe Flash Player, but I still get the message "Adobe Flash Player out of date" and I cannot play videos. I use Mac OS X Yosemite on a MacBook Pro. How can I fix this?

    1. System Preferences >  Flash Player > Advanced >  Delete  All
         Press the "Delete All" button.
         Install Adobe Flash Player.
        http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
       Download it first.
       The next step is important.
Click Safari in the menubar and select “Quit Safari”.
Follow the prompts and install it.
        Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.

Having trouble watching live streams such as jtv and twitch.tv. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling adobe flash but I still get no stream just ads and pictures. Anyone have any suggestions?

I just wanted to follow this up by saying that you were entirely correct in your diagnosis of the situation.  My computer did have the faulty part you linked to.  I brought my laptop in and specifically told them to run that test, had it fail and then argued with the person at the genius bar and the manager.  Eventually they offered to have it sent out and have everything replaced for free of charge.  They did so mainly because I had complained about graphical issues almost every other time I had come in with problems and no one ran the test.  They should have caught this problem during my warranty, but they didn't, even though I mentioned the problem.
Anyhow, after having the part replaced, I haven't had my computer crash a single time since, or had many of the issues mentioned above.  I've never had this experience before.  Even brand new, I got occasional crashes.  Hopefully this new trend continues.
I do find that web browsing is still incredibly slow.  Web browsers just chug along at a slow pace, even though I have great internet speed.  Maybe I'll try just deleting my web browsers and reinstalling them...
Anyhow, thank you for your help and knowledge Clinton.

  • HT2506 After updating my system to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 I can no longer view videos on Facebook or other sites. The only one I can view videos on is youtube. I have downloaded Adobe Flash player and still no luck. I cannot even open Preview on my computer

After updating my system to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 I can no longer view videos on Facebook or other sites. The only one I can view videos on is youtube. I have downloaded Adobe Flash player and still no luck. I cannot even open Preview on my computer anymore. Any ideas would be helpful thanks

Merely clicking the Preview icon in the Dock doesn't cause it to open anything, unless you had one or more windows open the last time it quit.
If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test.
    1. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, triple-click the line below to select it:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. If there is more than one item in the folder with the words "Flash Player" (not "flashplayer") in the name, open the respective Info windows, check the version numbers, and delete all except the latest. You may be prompted for your login password. If you get the same error after doing that, re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    2. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
    3. Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    4. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

  • HT1338 I download Adobe Flash but it doesn't install. Each time I encounter something that needs Adobe Flash it tells me I don't have it. I am getting tired downloading it and then it isn't there.

I download Adobe Flash but it doesn't install. Each time I encounter something that needs Adobe Flash it tells me I don't have it. I am getting tired downloading it and then it isn't there.

    install_flash_player_10_osx.dmg
    install_flash_player_10_osx-1.dmg
    install_flash_player_10_osx-2.dmg
    install_flash_player_10_osx-3.dmg
    install_flash_player_10_osx-4.dmg
    etc to -9
Those are the ones you downloaded. Ten times, apparently. Since install_flash_player_10_osx.dmg already existed, the next download was appended with -1. The next -2, etc. They'll all be identical, so it doesn't matter which one you use. Though I'd go with the last one as it may be a slightly updated version from the first download, depending on how long ago you did the first one.
A .dmg file is a Disk Image. When you double click them, they open up a pseudo drive on the desktop. When you open one of these ten items, the Flash installer will appear in a file window. Run it to install Flash. Then close the file window (displaying from the psuedo drive) and then put the "drive" in the trash to dismount it. You can then delete all of those.
Looks like you also downloaded the Adobe Reader twice. Versions 10.1.2 and 10.1.3. Also Skype, whatever the Thomson thing is, and an unnecessary Flash uninstaller (the Flash installer will put an uninstaller in the Utilities folder).

  • I tried downloading adobe flash but it prompts for a password, which i don't have. any suggestions?

i tried downloading adobe flash but it prompts for a password. none of the passwords i have (including that which i use with apple) works. any suggestions?

You are prompted for a password before installing Flash? If so, this is your Mac's admin password, which doesn't have anything to do with your Apple ID unless you chose to use the same password for your computer admin login account as is used for your Apple ID.

  • I have just downloaded Adobe reader but am unable to launch documents as 'license agreement' needed

I have just downloaded Adobe Reader but am unable to launch documents as 'license agreement' must first be 'Agreed" ??  Where can I do this?

Assuming you're on a Mac, you launch Adobe Reader like any other app, from Applications. If there is more than one Adobe Reader shown, start and quit each one in turn.

  • Im trying to install adobe flash player and it says i need to close firefox to continue i have and it still says its not closed

Im installing adobe flash player and its telling me to close mozilla firefox to continue. i exited off the internet but it still says i need to close it

Download and installation are two separate steps. The Adobe Flash '''installation''' procedure requires that Firefox be closed before installing Flash.
orange Firefox button > '''''Exit''''' or File > Exit to close Firefox. Then wait a minute or so before starting to install Flash.

  • Lastest Flash (16.0.0.305) is installed but Firefox still says I need Flash for most videos. Why?

I have installed flash multiple times, restarted Firefox, and everything I can think of but every time I come to a page that uses flash player it STILL Says I need Flash player to see the video or whatever is using flash. This has been going on for a while now since the last Firefox update.

In your More System Details, there is a mystery line that just says "Flash" while the official line says "Shockwave Flash". Could you use by test page to generate a list of the full information for each plugin so it's easier to figure out which one is the stranger?
    http://dev.jeffersonscher.com/jstest.asp
Scroll down a bit to the plugin list. It's the "Description" line that will say just "Flash". What is the name of the plugin?
