There are two more things to try. If the first thing you try fails, try the next.
Two Button Reset.
This is the least likely to result in loss of data. Read that again, especially the phrase "least likley."
Unplug the phone form the computer.
Press and hold both the home and the sleep/wake buttons (ignore the red slider) until you see the silver Apple logo.
When you see the logo, let both buttons go.
If this worked, you should see an icon instructing you to connect to iTunes. My guess is that the reset did not work.
DFU Restore
This will very likley result in loss of data.
Plug the iPhone into the computer.
Ensure that it is running the lates version of iTunes and that it has access to the internet.
Press and hold both the home and sleep/wake buttons for exactly eight seconds.
Release only the sleep/wake button but continue to hold the home button for another five seconds.
Let go of the home button, then look at the computer screen for an instructional popup.
The popup should say "iTunes has detected a device in covery mode. . .(etc)" Click accept to all boxes and let iTunes download and install all of the latest device Firmware and Software.
If no popup appears, repeat the above DFU instructions. If you 've never done a DFU, it may take about three attempts to get the timing right.

I know click hold on and off then hold the menu and center button until the apple logo appears. I have tried this so many times and my iPod Classic is still unresponsive! I've tried plugging my iPod into my Mac, my wall charger, my ihome, everything, but nothing works. It won't connect to iTunes to restore or anything. Although you say you have let the battery drain, was it for long enough? Since nothing else that you've tried so far has worked, I suggest that you leave the iPod unplugged for at least four days, preferably a week. That way, if something is stopping the iPod from turning the screen on, then whatever it is will drain the battrey. However, since the screen isn't on, that may take longer than if the screen was on.
Then, after that time, plug the iPod into a power source and leave it alone for at least thirty minutes. Only after thirty minutes will it show any signs of life, but you should leave it until it is fully charged before trying to use it.
If you get to this stage, the fact that the battery has drained will cause the iPod to reset when it springs back to life.

You'll need to connect it to the iTunes library you normally sync it with and restore it. If iTunes asks you for this passcode before it will let you proceed, connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode instead using the instructions in this Apple support document.

I couldn't get past the dialog box in order to delete since it seemed to be stuck in some sort of loop.. I found the answer under "More like this". Had to do a reset (hold power and home buttons for 10 seconds). When iPad eventually came back to life, the dialog box was gone and I was able to get into Settings and reset the password. All fixed now!

My iTunes won't recognize my password after new download

After downloading the new OS software, my iTunes won't recognize my password to restore all my stuff after it was backed up!! All my contacts, personal settings, pictures and videos are stuck on my computer and it WON'T restore back to my iPhone!! Funny tho, all my music and folders restored. I am confused and so upset:'( Is there a way to re-set the original password? I have tried every password I can think of and the frustration is killing me!! Any suggestions???

As razmee209 said, you can use iTunes to install photos on your phone from wherever you have them stored. Where did you copy them to? Are you saying you selected them on you phone and just hit "copy"? That would only copy one at a time to the "clipboard" so that you can paste it somewhere else. As you copy each one, the previous one is deleted from the clipboard. This is not a storage area. Did you back them up on your computer or in iCloud?

Have you reset or restarted your iPhone since the update?
Hold down the home button and the power button until you see an Apple logo
Release both buttons and the iPhone will restart.

The SMS links thing is highly annoying. You don't have to copy/paste however. You should see an icon like this: (>) to the right of the text bubble with the link. Tap on that, the in the screen that opens, tap "Visit".
Alternatively, you can tap twice directly on the link, then hold your finger down after the second tap.
Still unnecessarily difficult, but not as bad as copy/paste.
What I don't get is why can't I find any mention of this change or how to fix it (if even possible) elsewhere online?

I was having the same problem. I followed the directions from the link you listed, but the library file in the Previous folder was dated the same as the date of my upgrade. There are no other files in that folder. I tried anyway but it did not work. Any suggestions short of individually adding them?
