Ipod nano just shows blinking apple logo
I accidently disconnected my ipod when it said don't disconnect. Now the screen just blinks the apple logo and won't let me restart or restore or update and my computer doesn't even recognize it anymore. what can i do to fix it?
A. Try to connect your iPod with another computer with the iPod updater pre-installed.
B. Still can’t see your iPod, put it in Disk Mode and connect with a computer, instead of doing a Restore on iPod Updater. Go and format the iPod instead.
For Mac computer
1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
2. Go to Tab “Partition”, click either “Delete” or “Partition”, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
3. Go to Tab “Erase” , choose Volume Format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
4. Same as step 3, but open the “Security Options....” and choose “Zero Out Data” before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
6. Open the iPod Updater and click “Restore”
For Window computer
Go to folder “My Computer”
Hope you can see your iPod there and right click on the iPod
Choose “Format”. Ensure the settings are at “Default” and that “Quick Format” is not checked
Now select “Format”
Eject your iPod and do a Reset
Open the iPod Updater and click “Restore”
In case you do not manage to do a “Format” on a window computer, try to use some 3rd party disk utility software, e.g.“Partition Magic”.
C. Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. In many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. When the PC user returns to his computer the iPod will be recognized by the PC, reformatted for the PC, and usable again. By the way, it works in reverse too. A Mac user often can get his iPod back by connecting it to a PC and restoring it.
Tips
a. It does not matter whether the format is completed or not, the key is to erase (or partly) the corrupted firmware files on the Hard Drive of the iPod. After that, when the iPod re-connected with a computer, it will be recognized as an fresh external hard drive, it will show up on the iPod updater.
b. It is not a difficult issue for a Mac user to find a window base computer, for a PC user, if they can’t find any Mac user, they can go to a nearest Apple Shop for a favor.
c. You may need to switch around the PC and Mac, try to do several attempts between “Format” and “Restore”
D. Format your iPod with a start disk
I have not tried this solution myself, I heard that there were few successful cases that the users managed to get their iPod (you must put your iPod in disk mode before connecting with a computer) mounted by the computer, which was booted by a system startup disk. For Mac, you can use the Disk Utility (on the Tiger OS system disk), for PC user, you can use the window OS system disk. Try to find a way to reformat your iPod, again it does not matter which format (FAT32, NTFS or HFS+) you choose, the key is to erase the corrupted system files on the iPod. Then eject your iPod and do a Reset to switch out from Disk Mode. Reboot your computer at the normal way, connect your iPod back with it, open the iPod updater, and hopefully your iPod will appear there for the Restore. -
My Iphone 4 Will Display the Apple Logo then switch Off
My Iphone 4 was working perfectly fine eariler. I took it off charge was playing some apps on it perfectly fine. I left it in my pocket for a bit i then went to use it again and the screen was blank. I knew it had 52% of battery left roughly on it so i thought it might of died. Plugged it into the wall and press the switch on button and it switch on the apple logo came on and then it switch off again and then would switch on with the apple logo again but switch off. It's done this repeadly ive tried plugging it into itunes and it still woudlnt come up on the laptop just did the same thing it did when i switched it on. I tried holding the home button and power on button at the same time as some people suggested but it still hasnt worked? Help?

Hello,
I need help before i go to the apple store for help.
My problem is that I have an Ipod touch which it was working fine but now it will not boot all the way.
It will not show the red bar when is ready to be turn off or reboot when using both buttons to reset it it will only come to the apple logo then goes blank.
I tried to restore via Itunes but same result, it will start showing is doing the extract then it will go blank and get a message saying that It can not find the device.
What do i need to do.

- Inspect the dock connector for bend or missing contacts, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your iPhone. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear what issues you were having that led up to the attempted Erase All, and/or exactly what behavior you are seeing now (restarting, not responding at all, etc). as listed in the title, my phone just flashes on me no start up just flashes from the apple logo to shutting off and back and forth i did the update this afternoon (9-26-2012) and it still wont start up!!!
Something in your backup may be corrupt. Try wiping it and setting it up as a new device, then sync your apps, data and media back to it from iTunes. DO NOT resotre from your backup. If the problem is contained in the backup, it will bring it right back again if you restore.

My phone is brand-new, bought it yesterday together with two more for my sisters, and it asked for an update. After it finished updating, it told me to connect to Itunes, which I did. As soon as I connected it to Itunes, the only option left was to restore. I just want to download the apple tv software on to my pc...however I cant seem to find this anywhere and my laptop doesn't reconsie the apple tv device!!
You can't download it to your PC. The only way is to connect Apple TV to your computer and restore via iTunes (which will load the current firmware).
Make sure you are following the steps exactly (unplug all cables, then connect micro usb cable)
Make sure you are connecting directly to computer, not a keyboard port or USB hub
Try a different cable
Also may want to check any firewall and security software installed on the system. -

What do you mean by "download"? Only updates are available as downloads, the System software has to be installed from a DVD. -

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Maybe this will let the iPad reboot and then you may need to restore again but see if this helps to start the iPad first.
