I just found out my iPod touch will only sync to one library, what is the difference in technology of the iPod touch and iPod that makes this so?

I just found out in iTunes help that my iPod touch will only sync to one library unlike iPod. What is the difference in technology between the iPod touch and the iPod that makes this so?

You can manage music and videos among different computers/libraries by following these instructions. You can only sync apps and photos from one library.

Try:

All of a sudden, my ipod touch will only recognize/play purchased items. I then have to completely reset the ipod and re-sync. I've had to do this 6 times, and support has been no help.

I downloaded a movie to the wrong library by accident. now i can't put the movie on my husband's ipod because it says it can only sync to one library at a time. how do i fix this? i don't want to get rid of the old videos, i just want to add new ones

i really don't know what i did wrong. i logged into itunes using my husband's id, then bought some movies. but for some reason, it downloaded them to my library, not his. now i can't put them on the ipod. is there any way to get them out of my library and into his library? i tried home sharing, but it still won't let me sync them to the ipod

I have the generation 1 ipod touch and today I was syncing it to my library and the error code (13019) came up. My ipod will not sync to my library. I have tried the unchecking the sync button on my library and I restored it. So now the error is still occurring and my ipod has no music.

You can only sync with one iTunes library. If you sync with another one the iPod will be erased and its contents replaced with what is in the library of the second computer.
However, you can manage music among multiple computers. See:

My original iPod broke, I went to the Apple Store and replaced it for another one. Now, when I try to sync my albums, only a few songs are transferred. I tried manually putting in my songs, but I have a 32g and if that's what I'll have to do, then I dont want an iPod anymore.

If you set up the Find My iPod service prior to the iPod going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled or the iPod been completely restored).
If you did not set up Find My iPod, then there is no way to track it. Contact the police and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPod (the iTunes Store, for instance).

IPod Classic will only sync with iTunes 11.0.2.26 in disk mode - can you help?

Hello, I am running Windows 8 64 bit with iTunes 11.0.2.26. This is a new PC and this is the first time I have tried to use it with my iPod. My iPod classic does not show up in Windows or in iTunes. The only way I have been able to sync anything is in disk mode. When syncing in disk mode the iPod appears in Windows and then disappears again when it ihas finished.
I have tried removing and reinstalling iTunes, but this has not sorted out the problem. The iPod device troubleshooter can not see the device. I have tried several different usb slots and two different sync cables. I can not see the iPod in device manager.
My iPod model is MB565 version 2.0.1 PC.
I would like to be able to sync my device as normal and to see if there are any updates available for my iPod classic, which as iTunes currently can't see the device, is not possible.
Can anyone help please?

Well I finally figured out the problem, not thanks to anyone from Apple for that matter. You would asume this problem has happened before and is still happening. The problem was I couldn't copy certain songs anymore from iTunes to my iPod Classic. When trying to copy certain songs I got an error.
If you have this problem it means your song file is corrupted. You can simply check this by trying to copy it from your hard drive to an external hard drive. Here you will also get an error message.
This means you need to replace all the corrupted files by a back up on your hard drive or download it again. I did this and now everything works fine.
Hope this will solve a lot of problems.

IPhone will only sync to one CD in iTunes?

I recently got an iPhone 5 and I'm new to the technology. I previously used an iPod with my iTunes library on home computer. But recently, I downloaded iTunes on my laptop because it was more convenient. I saved a CD of music on there and activated home sharing. But I never synced my iPod to it---I just listened to my music on my laptop. Now I have an iPhone. I have tried syncing it to my laptop, and it works for everything except for when it comes to music. It will only put my CD songs on it, even though on my laptop it shows that I have all my music. What do I need to do? Do I need to authorize my iPhone? Is that possible or is that just for comptuers? I already have 5 devices authorized (mysteriously enough as it is, but it's a shared computer so it makes sense) so would I need to deauthorize them all first?

Maybe you've got problems because of outlook artefacts after ugrading to Windows 8. You should delete them, reinstall iCloud control panel and after that it should work. A 'how to' can be found in the internet, e.g. on my homepage.

Copy or move the entire iTunes media folder from the old computer or the backp of the old computer to the new computer.

Aperture 3 will only sync 5-star library to iPhone, all to iPad

It's crazytime in Cincinnati.
Recently changed computers from a 17" MBP to a 15" MBP i7. Shifted the bits from one to another. Loaded the aperture library from the vault. Re-synced the iPhone 4 and iPad 3G.
iPad has all the photos.
iPhone 4 has only the photos from the 5-star library.
I know how to fix this. A nuke & pave of the iPhone will set things right. However, last time this happened was to the iPad (moving from iMac to MBP 17" - iPhone was fine then).
I'd rather, of course, not nuke & pave.
Reset phone, killed the phone app. De-synced photos from aperture. Re-synced, still 5-star only. I can select sets of libraries and they sync successfully, but NOT if I select either the "all" option, or select all of the checkboxes when doing a detail selection.
I suspect something is stored crazy in iTunes and/or Aperture that is tied to the individual i-device. On phone with AppleCare right now, but have time to kill.

Yes indeed. Sync's to the iPad without a problem. Prior to the move to the new MBP, the iPhone did as well.
I seem to have sorted things now. It's a bit garish, but it didn't involve a full-scale nuke and pave of the iPhone.
Essentially, sync groups of libraries individually, excluding the smart libraries, until you've selected everything and it's all on the iPhone. Select the smart libraries and sync. Now switch back to full auto. Everything is back.
Crazy, but it seems to work. I thoroughly stumped two levels of AppleCare support and ProApps support. I win Monday!

The iPod Classic I bought a month ago is not synching with my new Mac Book I bought 3 weeks ago. All the software was immediately updated. My iPhone 5 synchs fine, and so does my 2nd generaton iPod Touch. The original computer I synched all of these devices on was my HP latop. I bought my Mac and Classic to the Apple Store for a 'Genius Appt' and they could not figure out what the problem is. The connected my Classic to another computer and the same thing happens. It says device is not recognized. They also took other iPod Classics and connected them to my Mac and other Macs. The same thing was happening. They took notes and said it probably is an iTunes update issue.
I can manually drag songs into my Classic but I lost all playlists because it cannot be backed up as well and they had to restore it. For now I am holding on to it but it's usless to me if I cannot use it the way I liked too. I used it for the gym and bike riding and my last iPod battery died after 6 years. A charge would last 45 miutes. I love the Classic for what I use it for but it's a $275 brick to me now. At least the renewed by receipt so I can get a full refund.
Is anyone else seeing this issue ? The Apple Store employee said he saw a first generation iPad havng the same issue. As of now the Support Dest is unaware of this. As much as I love my new Mac I am disappointed I cannot sync my new Classic to it. Total bummer.

By the way, I totally restored everything. It was ok. It starts to 'unrecognize' my iPod Classic when it comes to synching with iPhoto. After this happened all the menus disappeared from my iPod (music, Podcasts, movies synched fine). It seems to be a problem when synching with iPhoto. It was the same thing before.

The old Ipod 80Gb will only sync 2Gb issue!!!!!!!

I seem to be suffering the common (and ignored by Apple) Classic 80Gb only syncing 2Gb issue.
Has anyone actually come up with a fix yet - other than replacing the hard drive?
I've done everything I can find on forums anywhere without success and I am rather p**d that the **** thing is only 14 months old!
