I just got an Iphone 4 Please help me

Hello,
I am unable to get Itunes to regognize my new phone and the only email that shows up is from 2009.  I have searched online for the last 3 hours and can't find anything that works.  I am not tech savy at all.  Please help me, but in old lady speak please.

Open your preferred web browser, then go to the TDS website and click "Check TDS Email." Enter your username and password to log in (if this is your first time logging in, click to accept the "Terms of Service"). Click "Settings," then click "Forwarding and POP/IMAP," then click "Enable POP for all mail" and click "Save Changes."
2Click "Start," then "Windows Mail" to launch Windows Mail. Click "Tools," then "Accounts" and then click "Add." Click "Email Account," and then "Next" to launch the account registration
Enter your name in the relevant field, then click "Next." Enter your full TDS.net email account in the "email address" box, and then set the "Incoming Mail Server Type" to "POP3." Set the "POP3 Server" to "pop.gmail.com," and then set the "Outgoing e-mail server" to "smtp.gmail.com." Click "Enabled" in the "Outgoing Server requires" box and then click "Next."
4Enter your username and password, then click "Remember Password" and click "Next." Click the tick box next to "Do not download my e-mail at this time," and then click "Finish."
5Click "Properties," and then click "Advanced." Change the "Outgoing Mail" port to "465" and tick the box that says "This server requires" Change the "Incoming mail" port to "995" and tick the box beneath it. Click "OK," and then click "Close." You have now setup your TDS.net email account with
Apple Mail

Enter the "Incoming Mail Server" as "pop.gmail.com" and then your user name and password for the account. Click the "Outgoing Mail Server" drop-down menu and click "Edit Server List."
Click "TDS" then change the "Server Name" to "smtp.gmail.com," and then click "Advanced." Change the "Port" to "465" and click the "Use SSL" button to enable it. Click "Authentication" and choose "Password," then enter your user name and password. Click "OK."
Click "Advanced" and then click "Use SSL," and then enter the "Port" number as "995."
Click the "x" to close the window and click "Save" when prompted. You have now setup your TDS.net email account with your Apple Mac.
