I just got an iphone. Can I setup my own Apple ID and share my wifes itunes account?
Thanks for your time
Do you both sync to the same computer or have separate computers? If separate, my recommendation is to set up individual apple IDs and then use home sharing if you want to share music or apps or other content. I don't think you HAVE to though.

I have three iPhone 4 models purchased in late 2010 (for my family) that all share the same iTunes account for access to apps and music, but each phone/user still has his/her custom contact list, email accts, and select lists of apps and music from the one iTunes acct library. The problem is I can only update the software on one of the three iPhones – the primary phone I used to setup the iTunes acct. What is the best solution to manage these devices for software updates, apps? This is probably a common problem with families wanting to share apps and music without realizing the issues created by this approach. As it stands today... the first (primary) iPhone associated with the iTune acct has been updated with the latest software version 5.1.1 and sync'd up with all the apps, music, etc from the one iTune acct, while the other two iPhones are still running on the original software version 4.0.2 and are experiencing problems now. I was advised by AT&T back in January that it would be necessary to setup separate iTunes accts for the second and third iPhones in order to receive system updates. The problem would be how to keep all the apps, etc from being deleted off the second and third phones that were originally loaded from the one iTunes acct. Since this AT&T advice was prior to iCloud coming out, would iCloud be a better solution or at least part of the solution? I really don't yet understand how iCloud works. Hopefully, someone out there can help me?? Please?

my partner has an ipad and i have a mac book pro... we share the same itunes account (apple id) but believe we can have a seperate apple id for use of the icloud... we do not want each others documents to be in sync with ipad and mac book... help? thanks
Each of you should set up your separate iCloud account on your own computer using your Apple ID. This gives you two independent iCloud accounts.
Note that an iPad is not a multi-user device. It can only be synced with one account. -
Phone got wet,now it's only showing the apple icon and sometimes connect to itunes
3gs phone got wet,now it's only showing the apple icon alternating with connect to itunes
You didn't connect it to your computer or to power, did you?
Wipe it down, put it in a baggie with raw rice or new silica gel packets and set it in a cool, dry area, like a cupboard. Leave it there for 3 - 4 days.
Take it out after this time, wipe it off, use a soft brush to wipe any rice dust from the dock connector, and connect it to your wall charger. Let it charge for at least 30 minutes and then Reset it while it is connected to power. May take several tries. If it revives fully charge it.
If this does not work you can do an out-of-warranty replacement with Apple for $199 USD. -

(cont.) e to choose what is going to be downloaded. Im just a little suspicious what with the update coming differently than it usually does.
Check this thread out -> iTunes 10.4 & Multimedia Keyboard
It doesn't look like there is a fix yet, but some people in the thread are pointing to this workaround:

Following some suggestion i seem to have found a solution for the problem and my play/pause, next and previous buttons work with iTunes 10.4.1
- You need to open a text editor (like notepad) as an administrator.
- Open the SetPoint players.ini file (C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPointP\players.ini)
- Edit the line under the [Players] section to match the line bellow (bold is the wndClass which is to be changed)
iTunes=wac,iTunes.exe,ITWindow,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,0,1,iTunes
- Save the file
- Restart the SetPoint and hopefully play/pause, next and previous buttons should work (at least they work for me) -
Can I create a second Apple ID and share content between the two?
We have an Apple ID that's used by the whole family to buy music etc from iTunes, but we also have 3 separate Apple devices, two iPhones and an iPad. Hence, ideally we would have 3 separate ID's that could all use the content currently on the family one. Is anything like this possible? Many thanks in advance.
Well yes, but if you want to update those apps, you'd need to sign in under your old Apple ID to update them. It's really best to just stick to one Apple ID, or you'll run into association complications down the road.

If I have an apple ID for myself and my wife has just got a iPhone for the first time how can she get the same apps as I have for my iPhone and iPad by getting it off my iCloud?
She can't from iCloud without setting up your iCloud account on her phone. But just sync the same apps from your iTunes Library on your computer to her phone.
Your wife should setup her own iCloud account - which is separate to the iTunes Store accounts. -

I have an iPhone 5s. Just updated from my 5. My husband just got an iPhone. I purchased music over the last year.
He was told to create his own account we don't get each others messages. But how can he upload music I already purchased?
Also my dads got over a thousand songs on his iTunes account. Is there a way to share? I get the whole stealing music stuff but this is purchased music I'm talking about. He paid for albums of music. Mine are random songs and a few albums.
And last. I have CDs I purchased. How do I put them onto my iTunes account. My dad set it up for me two years ago (3 phones ago) n I'm not
Sure how to do this. My original computer n then my laptop both crashed so I don't have access
To any of it anymore.Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID.

Connect your iPad to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and “ Check for Updates “...
If an Update Appears Install it... if not... you are up to date for your particular Device...
