My friend just sold me her ipad she got Jan 2013. The way you download older apps for the older, original iPad 1, as I understand it, is if you have iTunes installed on a computer, you purchase / download the new, current app, in the iOS App Store in iTunes on your computer. Then, go back to your iPad and go to the App Store app on your iPad and find the same app there and download it.
When You select app to update/download, a message pop-up window appears asking if you want to download the last compatible version for your device (if one still exists ) tap OK and that should be it. -
Im trying to install photoshop but the application manager says its up to date. What does it mean?
Ive just bought a year subscription to creative cloud so that I could use photoshop for editing. When I try to down load the software it says its up to date but there is currently no photoshop on my computer.
I did use the free trial some time ago but I since removed it. How do I reinstall photoshop?Mac or Win? How did you remove the previously installed Photoshop trial? Did you use the uninstaller, or did you just drag it to Trash?
The Application Manager finds signs that Ps is already installed on your machine. Do you have any other Adobe creative software installed as well?
I think that it might be best to remove all traces of and then attempt a fresh reinstall. Use http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html to clean up your system and reinstal the software. -

Do you have a video card with at least 512 MB of vRAM?
I only have 256 MB vRAM on my older iMac and still have 3D capability in PS CS5, but not in PS CC. The newer versions of PS require 512 MB in order to enable 3D. -
just got photoshop cc 2014 on windows 8.1 64 bit, and it starts up on the white layout and and whenever I start a project it is in a window? Also whenever I try to change on of these it does not save. I am using the trial. Basically nothing saves and it was all screwed up when I first got it.
Do a screen screen capture and post it here so we can see what you stating about a white layout...

out of 5 disc's, it says only use the 3 and 5 for Mac's, but it only downloaded PremeireI think each is downloaded seperately. Need to download the Photoshop elements which if you specify Mac should be the same as disc 3.

Just got a Late 2012 iMac 27 inch - recovery issues
Just got a brand new iMac Late 2012 27 inch model (CPU: 3.4, 1GB GPU, 8GB RAM, 1TB Fusion, 10.8.3).
Couple of questions:
I tried Command R to get into recovery mode to see if it is working. It is not working at all. I then tried pressing the Option button after the chime and it took me to the recovery with just a wireless network list. I'm not seeing the built in revovery partition being listed. I didn't try diskutil to see if it is there but it should be. Any ideas?
I got a Magic Trackpad which is not working when I browsed thru the Wifi network list. Is this normal?. I had to use the keyboard to scroll thru the list.
Also, I was reading the reviews on the cleanup software available for Mountain Lion. I was checking CCleaner (free), Onyx (free), Stellar Speedupmac and CleanupMac (Macpaw). Which is simple and effective?
Thanks.So, if I see it when running diskutil, why it is not seen when in recovery view? or in other words, why does it exist when it cannot be used?. I infact turned off wireless and still it doesn't show the internal recovery partition.
Thanks to Paul_31 for pointing that MacKeeper is a scam. The funny thing is it even shows up as a popup ad when running on Windows 8 and browsing some site. .
Btw, since I just got delivery of a brand new iMac, as a newbie what are the things I should look out for to ensure everything wrt to hardware and software are working. I have heard people say run the PixelBuddy to determine if there are any dead pixels to begin with.
Btw, do I need the free Sophos AV software?. I think it also removes malware. Do you guys recommend any best and essential utilities (free and paid) that are useful?
This machine will predominantly be used for doing HD video editing, programming including BootCamp running Windows 8 with Visual Studio 2012.

I have read there is a place where you can magentically attach it to the imac so it doesnt get lost - whee is it? its an ALU 20" iMac
if not where do people store there remote? as I know what will happen to mine if its not stuck on!!
Also how do you change the battery if it goes in the remote?

AndyThe new Macs dont have a magnet in it like the old iMacs, which is bad. I just put my remote right next to my Mac. To change the battery you sting something to the small button under the remote. Then a battery holder should pop out.

My time capsule seemed to have given up so I have just got a net gear router, I have no problem connecting wirelessly but when I connect an Ethernet cable it says it's connected but pages will not load
Do a factory reset .. nothing will be deleted from your backups and you will be able to get access to them again.
The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility. -

The reset link for the security question will send the email to your rescue email account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312 - that is the email account that you are checking, and you've checked the spam folder on it as well as the inbox, and tried clicking the reset link again ?
If you aren't receivineg the email then you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to view your rescue email address to check that it's correct, in case you need to use it in the potential future use

ITunes 6 and Quicktime 7.0.3 HELP
I just downloaded the NEW iTunes 6 with Quicktime 7, but when I install it the iTunes installs properly, but it fails to install Quicktime...hence I can't even open iTunes to access my music. I receive the error code -3. I have tried everything I kno
