I just got the 8GB nano, what is Other.
I just got the 8GB nano and it is saying that I am only able to sync 3.2 of my 4.4 GB of music because 4.2 GB is taken up by Other. What is this Other and how do I free up the space so that I can have all of my music on my iPod? Thanks.
You have any usually large amount of other. Sometimes this is the result of failed sync operations with iTunes or damaged files on your iPod that cause stored content to be recognized properly. The only way to fix the issue is to restore your iPod to factory settings in iTunes.

I just got the ipod nano about 3 weeks ago. It worked great up untill today. It would not turn on, or connect into my computer. I took it back to best buy and they said it had a defulted battery, and that I needed to call the company. So I did and they had me send it in. Will they send me a new ipod, or a refurbished one. - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

I just got a ipod nano 6th gen, and ive been using it for 2 days, and it seems that the battery just lasts about half a day, on playing 1 to 3 songs in intervals of 1-2 hours. Whats wrong with my ipod?
Your nano would really have nothing to do with it at that point. It is really something between iTunes and whatever server out there on the internet that it is trying to connect to for the update.
Try posting this one in the iTunes forum, they might have a solution for you.

Ive Had 32gb IPOD Touch n now just got an 8gb IPHONE 4S. My question is how am I supposed to sync my iphone without it syncing my current library that is well over 32gb of info? In other words, can i pick and choose what I want to put on just iphone?
thanks but if Im using iCloud For my Iphone and backing my ipod touch to my computer is that ok or would I have to back both up to ICloud. As u can telll, I want to kep the 2 devices seperate as much as possible, only putting on my phone what i choose to download, buy, or take from my current itunes library most importantly.

I just got the iPhone 5s the Friday it came out. So today i decided to turn it off because some of the apps are not working. Now that i turned it off, it will not let me turn my phone back on until i plug it into iTunes. But i have and now its saying that until my iPhone is restored i can not plug it into iTunes. I already have . alot of stuff such as picture and contacts that i do not want to lose. What is going on and what can i do? This is honestly the most frusterating thing about IPHONEs. I just got a new nano and downloaded the most up to date itunes then I plugged it into my computer and it does not turn on at all, no charge image and my computer doesn't even recognize that there is a connection. How do I fix this?
By calling iPod tech support while you are under warranty. You also have 14 days to return it w/no questions asked for a replacement or your $$$ back.

Do a few preparatory steps by making sure all iTunes components are not running and cleaning old files. See https://discussions.apple.com/message/20475394. Do steps 3 and 4. Steps 6-8 may be also useful but I don't know if they are essential. Some of the other steps are not necessary, duplicate steps listed later in my post or are perhaps even unhelpful in the process.
Replace the iTunes 11 application with iTunes 10.7. Simply dragging the application to the trash may not work. Lion (OSX 10.7) and newer systems have iTunes integrated into the operating system and deleting is a bit more involved. Two ways to do this are:
1. Use the shareware Pacifist utility (http://www.charlessoft.com/) to install iTunes 10.7 including all associated system files. Details at http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=16400819&postcount=6
2. Check this reference on how to delete the iTunes application itself:

After deleting the application there may be other files that need downgrading too. See the note about error -42408 at the end of this post. You may want to tuck these away somewhere safe until you have completed the installation of iTunes 10.7. I have not tested this but ideally if newer versions are not found then the installer will put in the old versions. This may include these files in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ which apparently get updated by iTunes 11:

After doing one of the two procedures above you will have to rescue the most recent old iTunes library from your iTunes > Previous Libraries folder. Rename it "iTunes Library.itl" and replace the existing one in the iTunes folder. A newer version of iTunes irreversibly updates your library file so you have to replace it with the old one or you will get an error message. Note, this will revert your library to the version at the time of the upgrade and you will have to update any changes made since. See:

Every Step, all Apps on iMac is Extremely Slow
The problem seems to be across the board, and not with any application. I spend 10 to 30 sec watching the spinning ball on everything: opening a finder window, saving dox in Pages, opening any app, clicking on any pulldown menu in any app, each step
