Did you have the Free trial installed on this computer previously? If yes, you can't try it again. Try using a different computer.

The first thing that has to be done with a new iPad is to activate it via iTunes. What version of iTunes, and what spec computer, have you got ? The iPad's minimum requirements are (from http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/) :

What happens when you try to confirm your details, if you are getting an error message then what does it say ? For a card to be accepted (debit cards are no longer accepted in all countries) it needs to be registered to exactly the same name and address as on your account, and have been issued by a bank in your country. If it's not being accepted then do you get the 'none' option on your account ?

Check the settings on your camera to make sure you're not shooting Raw and Jpeg pairs or shooting bursts.

Jeanne, you are going to have to give us some additional information: what kind of files are they, on what computer, using what application, were they made, how was the USB key formatted in the first place?
Do the files not copy to your desktop?

If it is not set, can you hear music if you're using the headphones?

I would just explain that this just started happening, that nothing has changed on the phone, that it is an original iPhone and I wondered if they are implementing a change in coverage with their Edge network in my area.
If you restore your phone, you will be given an option to back up your phone at the beginning of the process (see step 6 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414). You will be given the option to restore to that backup at the end of the restore process. Your messages are stored in the backup so restoring to the backup will return the messages to your phone. You need to restart the phone in DFU mode and update the software.
To restart the phone in DFU mode press the power and home button simultaneously for like 10 seconds once the phone is switched off release the power button keep holding the home button while you connect to the computer which has Itunes running and then you can restore or update the software, you can download the update and connect after the software has been downloaded if your phone disconnects, And enjoy you new IOS7.
