I just installed firefox; when I click the icon, nothing happens

In case you haven't solved this by now...
Sometimes your security software will block new programs from accessing the internet. Are you getting any alerts along those lines?
Sometimes Firefox will stall during startup and never display its window. In that case, you may need to manually "kill" the firefox.exe process using the Windows Task Manager before trying to start Firefox again.
You can display the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Esc. Windows 8.1 has a different display than Windows 7, so I have to go by memory. If you see a tab named Applications, check that one first. Then check Processes, and finally check Details. If you find Firefox or firefox.exe on any of those tabs, select it and End Process (or other action to shut it down).
After you are done with the Task Manager, try starting Firefox up again.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

i need to recover all my notes from Ghostwriter. When I double click the icon nothing happens. I am sick to my stomach! Can anyone help me?

Try to backup and restore you device in itunes...restoring the device is like removing the iOS software off the device and re-add in a newer software, after you have restore you device, MAKE SURE YOU SET UP YOUR DEVICE LIKE A NEW DEVICE, DONT NOT RESTORE FROM BACKUP!!... give the device a chance to use the newer software and see if the issue still persisting, if the issue still on going then its would be a hardware issue.
Call Apple Care and see if your device is still under warranty to get it replace

  • Installed Lightroom CC but when I click on icon nothing happens.

I installed the new Lightroom CC but when I click on the desktop icon nothing happens. Any idea why not?

To All who signing out and signing in isn't resolving for you and are on Windows,
This could still be licensing related---
What if you try renaming both the SLCache and SLStore folders prior to launching Lightroom?
Locations of both of these folders are located in Solution 3 of this document: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/unable-launch-lightroom-55.html
If you'd like to change permissions first as a test, then renaming the folders and report back the findings of both methods, that'd be great!
Let us know how it goes.

    Pete

  • In my itunes account, I have a message that says I have 1 item awaiting download, when I click the button nothing happens.

In my itunes account I have a message, that I have 1 awaiting download, when I push then button nothing happens.

That sounds like the "90 day switch" rule related to changing Apple IDs.  Whenever you enable automatic downloads, turn on iTunes Match or download previous purchases your device or computer becomes "associated" with the ID currently in use.  Once associated in this way you cannot change to another ID for a period of 90 days (read more here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627).  I suspect this rule was necessary to prevent piracy as it prevents one from quickly signing into a number of their friend's IDs and download their purchased content.

  • I am no longer able to open new tabs. When I click the button, nothing happens. Help!

Clicking "Open a new tab" in my browser does nothing. However, if I right click a link from an existing tab and then click open a new tab, the new tab opens and the page loads. The button on the browser, the one with the + in the middle, it does nothing. HELP!

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened. The Ask toolbar can be installed as part of Foxit.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
    * Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
    * Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

  • I've been using Mozilla for months and now when I click on icon nothing happens. How do I correct this?

I can't get Mozilla to open in order to connect to the internet. I've been using it for months and just yesterday it wouldn't open. I tried to uninstall it to reinstall it but that didn't work. First it kept telling me that Moozilla was still open so I shutdown the computer. I was able to download the latest version, however, it still will not open a web page once clicked upon.

My toolbar is missing and there is a button at the top left that asks me to "Please re-install the Toolbar" but when I click on it nothing happens???
Then when I start Mozilla I get a long delay before it launches and a script running error "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
    Script: chrome://tavgp/content/libs/include.js:595"

what version of iPHoto do you have? Of the OS? is the iPhoto icon you are speaking of in the Dock?

Somehow my "IPhoto" icon now says "Preview".  When I click on "Preview" nothing opens up except the bar says Preview.  When I click on the Preview on the bar, a box opens up with different items, except when I click on any of them, there is nothing there.  The only thing that work is the "quit preview".  However, it is still there where my IPhoto icon should be.  I can't get into my IPhoto.  How do I get rid of this "Preview" and how did it end up taking over the IPhoto icon???
If you go to your Applications folder and double click on iPhoto what happen?

  • Firefox does not load up, open up when I click the icon, or when I go to firefox using the start menu.

I downloaded firefox 4 and used it for a few days and then it ceased to open up when I clicked the icon or went through the start menu. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and it still does not open.

Have you tried opening in Safe Mode - Hold down the Shift key as you double click.
Your Ask Toolbar is a known problem.
If Safe Mode works you can work your way through this -

  • Firefox 6 will not load when I click the icon. I have tried to uninstall it, both through the control panel and geong straight to help.exe. In both cases nothing happens. How do I uninstall this program?

Firefox 6 will not load when I click the icon. I have tried to uninstall it, both through the control panel and going straight to help.exe. In both cases nothing happens. How do I uninstall this program?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
