How do I access my music library when I have just installed itunes on my new computer. It only shows 17 songs in my library.

Hi everyone. CAn someone help me wiht this problem? I recently bought a new Windows 8 machine and transferred all my music onto the new computer. When I installed iTunes and loaded all of my music, every song title has been duplicated. When you click on the first title, iTunes tells you it can't find the file. The second title will play. Did you read the first sentence of his post? The songs were deleted from the iPod when he connected to an empty iTunes library.

There are no options other than to try some 3rd party data recovery software for the iPod as mentioned in this post.

Of course, if you have all these songs/videos on another computer, then it's simply a matter of reloading them from there.

Was the media solely on the external library? If so, it is likely that iTunes was started at some point with the external drive unaccessible. Simply point iTunes to the correct library location. To do this, close iTunes. Hold <SHIFT> and launch iTunes. When prompted to find library or create a new one, select the find option and point iTunes to where the iTuneslibrary.itl file is at on your computer (or external drive).

I've just downloaded itunes onto a new computer, and I'm currently downloading previously owned music from the cloud. However, it keeps sticking on various songs - it will get part of the way through and just stop, this seems to happen to about 1 in 10 songs. How do I get round this?
Also, once I've finished dowloading from the cloud, how do I get my library to display only the songs I've downloaded, and not all the other ones that I don't want anymore?

On the new laptop, launch iTunes. From the menu bar click Store / Authorize This Computer.

No you do not have to uninstall iTunes on the PC in order to unsync with the Mac. And where you got that information about having iTunes content on two products only is beyond me. You can associate your Apple ID and iTunes content with up to 10 devices but no more than 5 devices can be computers.
If you could copy the iTunes library to your new Mac, that would be the ideal thing to do in order to transfer the iTunes library over. That would make the process pretty easy. You can also download most purchased content again as long as you use the same Apple ID and you could move content into your iTunes library that way.
You will need to authorize the new Mac for your iTunes content. Launch iTunes on the Mac and got to Store>authorize this computer.
There are many articles that will guide you through copying the iTunes library to the Mac and you can look through a bunch of them here.

iTunes is just the program.
Your music is on the old computer, and whatever you used to back up your old computer, but if what you bought is still available from iTunes you can download it again.
Here is the procedure for your reference. This assumes what you purchased is still available in the Store:
Launch iTunes and click on iTunes Store on the left
On the right you will see this
Sign in with your Apple ID, then click on "Purchased" (with the orange blob)
On the summary page that appears select the tab "Not on This Computer" on the right.
On the list that appears, select what you want and then click the "Download" button.
For music that you did not purchase from iTunes, import it into your existing iTunes Library using whatever means you originally used to obtain it.

Registration has always been optional, so there is no point in trying. Those pages on the Adobe site are long gone. CS5 crashing is another matter, but without some crash logs and more detailed system information nobody can realyl know. This could be a mundane permissions issue on some files, could be a crash with the hardware acceleration stuff but just the same could be the activation system failing. Impossible to tell based on your limited information.

The sync process for iTunes content is a not a true sync process, and the same for photos transferred from your computer. In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can be synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only and photos can be transferred from a single computer. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first.
You need to transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer along with all other important data that you will need or want to access on your new computer such as documents, photos, etc. Transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer per the instructions included with this link.
