Hey guys,
My dad just got a new laptop that should be beyond capable of running iTunes. He installed it, tried to run it and it wouldn't open. I uninstalled it, re-downloaded it and tried to run it and it's a no go for me as well. Tried to run a repair and nothing. Tried to open it in safe mode and nothing. Does anyone have any ideas what might be gumming it up? His computer has a 1.5 gig Quad core, 4 Gig of Ram, is running on 64bit Windows 7 that is fully updated as of this morning and iTunes is doing jack squat Please help!FYI the sloution which are mentioned above are copied from below link and I just pasted the Information which were required. I am sorry as IT was not aware that the website belong to any of community participants and also I didn't new that copying a required information from a different website is not allowed and we have to write everything on our own or only post the thing that we have researched and if that is the case then I think most of us is in wrong place, because my intention is not to take credit here I am just trying to contribute my time in helping those users where techies like you are not reached.

I have Windows 7 and I just installed the newest version of iTunes on my PC. Now whenever I try to open iTunes an error message comes up that the file is corrupt or wasn't installed properly. How do I reinstall the update or fix the problem?
... and that's a new one that I wasn't expecting ...
Okay ... lets try a complete uninstall/reinstall as per the following document:

I am trying to install the newest version of Itunes and each time I repeatedly get the message "Program cannot start MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer Try reinstalling to fix this problem". I have tried reinstalling several times and I get the same message . Any ideas? I am most appreciative. I am using Windows 7.
Hi 49balf,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I recommend removing and reinstalling iTunes using these steps:
Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
You can find the article with these steps and more information here:

I just downloaded the newest version of Itunes, I deauthorized all of my computers and now can't find the menu to authorize. It refers to a store menu that doesn't exist on the new software. My account allowed me to deauthorize, but has no option to authorize. I am completely confused with the new software, I just want to download my music to my new computer.
With iTunes 11 on PCs the drop-down menus are hidden by default - control-B should get the menus to show
This screenshot is from a Mac, but it should be similar on a PC : -
So basically when I installed the new version of iTunes and reopened the program it was as if I started brand new. All of my playlists, songs, and podcasts no longer exsisted. Is there a way to restore everything back to normal? I still have all of the files on my comp, but re importing them wont bring back my playlists...

I'm trying to download the newest version of iTunes onto my windows computer and it keeps saying it cannot find 'iTunes.msi' program in my files. How do I fix this?
I would try removing and reinstalling all the Apple software by:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
or
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
Next try posting in the iTunes forum. -
I just can't figure out how to arrange my iTunes library with the newest version that I just downloaded and I'd appreciate if anyone knew how to help me! Thanks
Try iTunes menu View > Column Browser > Show Column Browser.

I just downloaded the newest versionof itunes. Now when I plug in my ipod, I can no longer see my playlists (listed on the left hand side). The new format is very confusing! How do I drag and drop songs into specific playlists I have? Is there a way to revert back to the old itunes?
I had the same question. Someone answered perfectly here post https://discussions.apple.com/message/20575126#20575126
The answer was click View > Show sidebar. Devices and playlists will display in the left sidebar once again. -
Help Help Help. I just want my itunes to open but since I downloaded the new version (11.1) it refuses to!

My computer has prompted me to install the newest version of Itunes and now there doesn't appear to be any option to "add folder to library", only "add file to library" so have to do each song individually and very time consuming....help! Anyone know if I can get this feature back? Thanks so much, Charlotte
Use CTRL+B to put the top menu bar back on screen. Add File to Library and Add Folder to Library are both under File.

I just downloaded the newest version of Itunes on my Windows 7 PC. I can't delete anything and I can't sync to my MP3 player. I tried deleting it and installing an earlier version of Itunes but it can't read the library. Please help.

I have a windows 8 computer and I installed the newest version of itunes because I used to have an ipod and I have a few purchases that I wanted to listen to. When I try to play them it says it's playing but I can't hear anything. It does not even says it's played the whole way. It just stays at the beginning. It won't let me pause. I checked my computer sound and there is nothing wrong with it. So there must be some software problem but idk what it is. If anyone can help I would appreciated. Thank-you
Hi DJBentley2011,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like there is an issue burning CD's in iTunes. Is the playback issue only occurring on a specific device and does the disc show up correctly in iTunes? The article linked below should help you resolve optical drive issues, it walks you through identifying potential issues and provides troubleshooting suggestions.
