I just installed version 8.0.1 of firefox. Now not one search engine will load. Not google, bing...nothing. help
All i've done is install the new version of firefox. none of these work in internet explorer now either....

Well, I could cry about it more, but I guess not too many other people have had this problem, I did search a bit before posting my question , and I consider myself pretty competent about this kind of stuff..
Next task ... ... ... Is there any place a backup is stored in the profile folders that have maybe my 3.6.12 Extensions and Extensions settings????
I know the main folder is located here " %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ "
but I am not currently on that particular PC to look at it to see if I can figure it out myself.
So any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Download and install the OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Combo Update.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

How do you add musci to the Iphone? I just installed itunes 11.1.5.5. Now the format in Itunes is changed. when I am trying to add music to my iphone, there is no longer an add button under the Iphone device. Why did they have to change this? Can anyone help, Im tryiong to add music.
Correct. When you purchase devices, they would have stated the OS they needed to work, on the box. This can be overlooked, but it is very important to check when purchasing.
You current OS, is so old, that they technology build into the new devices, is not something your OS understands. It didn't exist when your OS was created, and therefore you need to upgrade the OS to work with the newer technology of these devices.

After upgrading from 8 to 9.0.1 I no longer have any search engines installed. I would like to install Google as my default search engine. When I click on “get more search engines” I cannot find Google or Bing or …I resolved my issue. Renamed search.sqlite and reinstalled Firefox 9.0.1

just installed latest itunes to my laptop, and icon is on my homepage, but when i try to load it up, i get this message ,The File "itunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes! I managed to sort it by checking firewall on my internet explorer and this didn't help but if you have norton security then you have to change the firewall settings on that to permit itunes.

I just intalled version 7 of firefox and afterwards it told me it had disabled a security module for access to my bank account. The account and my company are in Brazil and I am in the US. I must have access to perform transactions. Had the program warned me I would not have "upgraded". To reinstall the security module I must be physically in Brazil because a code is text messaged to my local cell phone as one of the securty precautions and I am in the US and Europe for t3 to 4 weeks. I need to make a wire transfer during that time and cannot do so now. How can I go back to the old version and recover the bank access? Thank you.

And have you run the iPhoto Library Upgrader after you installed it? First run it, to prepare your iPhotLibrary for upgrading, and then launch iPhoto again to complete the upgrade of your library.

I have just installed Mountain Lion over Snow Leopard, I now can't open Photoshop?
Hi everyone, I have just installed Mountain Lion over Snow Leopard. The installation went smooth and woks well. Now I find that Ican't open either Photoshop CS or Microsoft Word. I upgraded in order to install Lightroom 5, obviously there is now an incompatability, is there a work around?
If that is the original Photoshop CS, and Word 2004 or earlier, then they won't open because Lion and Mountain Lion do not support PowerPC apps. They must be Intel code. Snow Leopard could run them because it included Rosetta, a PowerPC to Intel (and back) interpreter.
You have a few options.
1) Go back to Snow Leopard.
2) Update your apps to compatible versions.
3) If you have Mountain Lion because newer apps require it then:
a) Install Snow Leopard Server (currently being sold by Apple for $20) in a VM such as Parallels, and then run your PPC apps in the VM.
b) Install Snow Leopard on a separate partition and boot to that version of OS X when you need to use those older apps. -
Just installed HP BIOS Update. HP 6110 all in one printer no longer works.
Just installed HP BIOS Update. System no longer recognizes my printer (6110 all-in-one). HP web site says driver is in OS and should be recognized, but only driver that is close is 6100 series and it does not work.

When you are selecting the driver from the available drivers list did you make sure to press the Windows Update button at the bottom right to prepopulate the list? This may have to be performed to get the proper driver for your printer.
If this does not work, then I would take a look at the information in the post found here. It may provide a workaround to the issue you are experiencing.

I just installed the new IOS 8 . My I pad is now asking me to plug into ITunes . Once I plugged into ITunes I get a message to restore to it's factory settings.
will I lose all my data. photographs etcYou can do a factory restore and then restore from a backup after you've upgraded. I just did this with my mom's iPad, but you had to have either an iTunes backup or iCloud backup to do the restore. If you don't have the backup, could be that a lot of your apps and music are still available, but your settings are lost. Your most recent 1000 pics or so would still be in photostream, so you'd want to rescue them back to your recent pictures folder. Your mail, contacts, reminders, notes, are all already probably in icloud or another cloud provider for those services, just need to reenter your login information. If you do secure backups, a lot of the setup is restored, without backup, you'd need to log back in to those services like twitter, facebook, etc to see your info there.

I am geting the same message when updating to IOS-5. "Please re-insert you SIM, or visit your carrier store to receive a replacement SIM card." Unfortunately we are stuck as well and I have not found anyone yet to give a solution??? Will end up going to Apple tomorrow :-(

O?S is Vista Ultimate 32 bit fully updated. I have just installed Firefox 4.01. I have lost use of back and forward buttons - they are greyed out. Is there a solution please?
It is possible to have earlier data in a tab if the latest tab had target="_top" that means the back key will not work, but if your right-click on the back/forward you see a context menu. As far as I know the only difference between 3.6 and 4.0 ws that the drop-down arrow was dropped but like before you can still right-click.
There are some extensions that mess with the Back/Forward buttons.
There is a difference between gray and '''black''' on the buttons, '''black''' means there is history in that direction.
