I just installed Yosemite. iPhoto is gone, and Photos does not open. Instead, I am prompted to update to the latest version. The App Store tells me that is not available in the US. What do I do? Cannot access any photos.

When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. I really do not know how I got into this state. Basically, my iMovie is on version 10. But when I go to App Store update, it says I have to update to version 10 (Same version). I hit the update button. The update button went inactive for a few seconds and came back (does not say "Updating"). But when I go to launchpad, it's starting to download iMovie. How can I remove this update from the App Store?
The same is happening to me right now, but with GarageBand.
It seems to be an issue with the App Store app on the Mac, which Apple has to solve somehow.
I just leave this "update" as is until the App Store app with notify me with a real update in the "Updates" section. -
I just downloaded the latest version of iTunes. Now my iPad will not sync. I get the message: "This iPad cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device is not started." What do I do?

I have recently restored my phone to unlock it. I have installed the latest version of IOS. Since then, I have not been able to play the music I have purchased. The scrolls or flips through the songs and I am unable to listen to them. Can anyone help?
iTunes is quite friendly, and very powerful.... You probably just need to set up automatic syncing in iTunes.
If the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. The iPod appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES. Select the iPod there.
To the right, the iPod's Summary screen is shown. Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons, starting with Summary. Click on Music next to Summary. This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music. This setting enables automatic syncing for music. If your iTunes music library is small enough to fit on the iPod's storage, you can choose to sync Entire music library. Otherwise, you can choose to sync Select playlists, artists, albums, and genres. From the lists below, select (checkmark) what you want to sync to the iPod.
Here's one convenient way to set this up. In your iTunes library, create one or more playlists. Add the ALL the songs you want on the iPod to those playlists. OR, you can use existing playlists. Back on the iPod's Music screen, select those playlists under Playlists. (You can select other items on those lists, if desired.)
When you click Apply, the songs in your selection sync to the iPod. Going forward, to update your iPod (add/remove songs), just update those playlists in your iTunes library. The iPod does not need to be connected. The next time you connect the iPod (or click Sync if already connected), iTunes automatically updates the iPod with the same changes.
NOTE: On the bar of buttons that starts with Summary, click on the other buttons (such as Movies, Podcasts, Audiobooks, etc.) to set up syncing for those iTunes media categories. -
After I installed the latest version of ITunes I get a message saying I'm missing the SQlite3.dll file. I have even unistalled the new version and then re-installed, still same message.
With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the SQLite3.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Restart the programme all should be well
In case that your OS is (64 bit)
1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
2. Copy file "SQLite3.dll"
3. Now paste it in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
4. Restart the programme, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

I have a macbook pro 17" 1,1 model (early 2006), but I do not have installation discs.
If I order a replacement, what version is it?
Can I install the latest version 10.8.4 in 1,1 model?
If it is possible, what I have to do to get it done? And the price?
ThanksMacBookPro1,1 can only run Mac OS X 10.6.8, as it has got a 32-bit processor.
If you order replacement DVDs, Apple will send you DVDs with the original Mac OS X version that came with your Mac, in this case, Mac OS X 10.4.5.
If you decide to get replacement DVDs, Apple will only charge you for the delivery -
I cannot download the latest version of itunes to my Mac OS X 10.5.8 to sync with my new ipod...any suggestions?
You need to upgrade the computer's OS. Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, it can't sync that device.
If it's a Core Duo Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, upgrade it as if it was a Core Duo Mac, and once done, if desired, open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, go to the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC software such as Microsoft Office 2004. If you upgrade the OS, back up the computer first.
Some device models require Mac OS X 10.7.5 to sync.

I tried to install the latest version of iTunes on my Dell laptop but go this message: the program can't start because MSVCR 80.d11 is missing from you computer. Help!
Hi emeldafromaz,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. I would recommend trying a thorough reinstall of iTunes as described here:

I'm using a 16GB iPhone 4S, with the latest version of iOS 8.1.1. Whenever I go to the "Cellular" settings on the main settings page and turn OFF cellular data usage for native apps like mail, app store, contacts, photos etc , the moment I back out and come back in, all the native apps I turned cellular off for are back on again. Kindly help me
Exact same question as ankit1986, specifically with the photos while on cellular-only, and as simple as it sounds, I tried the hard reboot Ingo2711 suggested. Still experiencing the same error with the native apps reverting to on. It's killing our shared data-plan (2GB).

I'm trying to migrate from mobileMe to iCloud but I have Snow Leopard (the latest version). It looks like Lion is no longer available because Mountain Lion comes out next month (July). The problem is mobileMe ends on June 30th. How can I migrate?
My iphone and my ipad are compatible but when I try to go to icloud on my phone it says to do it on my computer.
I would like to have my calendar, contacts, etc.. all sync like they do now. Is there a way to upgrade before June 30th? If not, will the gap be an issue or will I just be able to buy mountain lion and sync everything?
Any suggestions?
Thank you!You can buy Lion in the App Store now, but move to iCloud now. If you wait to Mountain Lion, you will only have Mail in Snow Leopard, so you will lose syncing unless you use Lion or Mountain Lion. It's up to you

I have the latest version of Itunes on my Mac Air but it is in the old format. How can i get it to show the new format
I don't know what you mean by old and new format.
Select "Show Sidebar" from the View menu. -
Since the latest version of itunes, my playlists are too large to fit on the screen. The left side, with all my playlists is still there, but I can no longer scroll down the chosen playlist as the far right is no longer accessible. Any suggestions on how to minimize the list? Thanks.
I have the same problem on the latest iTunes software and Windows 7. My window is maximzed and I do not see any tab for photos. Seems related to a recent update (IOS7?) as this was there - at least before the very big change to the interface.

I am constantly getting error 1034 with no apparent pattern. This is under the latest version of Windows 7. Apparently I am not alone in this. When will this be addressed by Adobe?
Please send the "MuseLog.txt" file from your "My Documents" folder to my attention along with a link to this forum thread at [email protected] The log should provide additional context regarding the error you're encountering. Thanks.

What happened to right-click burn disk?
If I recall correctly, if you wanted to burn a cd before, you put the blank cd in the Mac then dragged the files you wanted to burn on top of the cd icon and then right-clicked the cd icon and chose "burn-disk". This seems to be gone in Leopard for s
