I just installed yosemite on my mcb pro mid 2012 and installed win8.1 with bootcamp. now i have the problem, when i'm using windows i don't see my mac partition in the "computer" window. there is only the "bootcamp (c;) partition? what's the problem?

i just installed yosemite on my mcb pro mid 2012 with a clean install. so i only had the new os x yosemite running on my mac. everything went perfect. than i installed win8.1 with the bootcamp assistant and also everything went perfect.
But here's the Problem:
When i'm using Windows 8.1 and i go to the "Computer" window where i can find my hdd partition "Bootcamp (c;) there is only this Partition. the mac Partition is missing.
so i am not able to read the files on my mac Partition.
Before i installed yosemite and win8.1, i was running mavericks and win7 on my macbook pro and i haven't had this Problem. i was able to see and read my mac Partition also on Windows 8.1???
is there any solution for this Problem???

  • Hello, I have a Mac Book Pro mid 2012, and forgot password, how do I reset it without losing info?

Hello, I have a Mac Book Pro mid 2012, and forgot password, how do I reset it without losing info? I certainly dont want it to be reseted by apple with my info from work, thank you very much for further response.

First, make sure caps lock is not on.
You must back up all data before continuing, unless you've already done so. If you need to back up but can't log in, ask for instructions.
If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise*, boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
    from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but your Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it.
*Note: If you've activated FileVault, this procedure doesn't apply. Follow instead the instructions on this page:
If you forget the password and FileVault is on

  • I have a new MacBook Pro Mid 2012 and it goes into deep sleep when I disconnect if from AC power.

I have a new 13" MacBook Pro mid 2012 and it goes into deep sleep when it is disconnected from AC power.  I have to press the power button to wake it up.  Is this a known issue or is there something wrong with the MacBook Pro?

There are a few threads about this around. Its a known issue for 2012 non retina users, not sure about Apple. It should not work this way and Apple has not put out an update to fix it yet. Check out these threads for some workarounds. I think I saw if you reinstall and don't update one of the updates you get normal functionality back. Otherwise there are some terminal changes you can make to make it operate mostly normally. I made some changes in terminal.

  • Macbook pro mid 2012 and the airplay feature does not come up.  it comes up in itunes but not on the menu bar or in the displays settings.  What can i do?

I just bought my macbook pro 2 weeks ago.  I am new to apple so it is pretty much greek to me at this point but I have been able to figure out or google most of my questions.  I have found a million posts about the Airplay feature for mirrioring and most of them are the same issue having a mac that is pre 2011.  There should be no reason I would not have the Airplay option on my system.. I have done the updates avaliable for both the mac and the AppleTV unit, which is a Gen 2 or 3, Also brand new as of 2 weeks ago.  Does anyone know what else I can do or is this something I will have to take in the the Apple Store to fix?

  • Yosemite slow on MacBook Pro mid 2012

    Hi Anyone
My MacBook Pro, 13 inch mid 2010, 2.5GHz intel Core i5, 4GB 1600 MHz, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
Updated to os x Yosemite 10.10 (German Version)
    Problems:-
Slow in loading Apps, e.g. Safari load very slow and if I want to type something on search the waiting-wheel keep turning, after a long while it does find everything I want but then when I click on the menu list the waiting start all over again, so is that with other Apps.
The next problem is that it is using up memory fast, and I have to use the Memory Clean all the time beside waiting!
I have notice by the Systeminfo, System report Hardware/Harddisk/Logic Volum Group:
    Name: Macintosch HD
    Size:  499.25 GB
Free: 19 MB !!!! (is this the problem)
or do I have to upgrade to 8 GB!
    Thanks

It's normal since Mavericks for almost all memory to be in use, either by applications or by the file cache. That's what you should want, since unused memory is going to waste. The relevant measure of whether memory is in short supply is what Apple calls "memory pressure."
Apple's explanation of memory pressure is here. If you want a more detailed, technical description, see here.
Get rid of "Memory Clean," which is worse than useless.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

  • Issues with MacBook Pro mid 2012 and SSD data 3

I installed a Samsung SSD in my macbook pro model A1278, it work very well since yesterday; maverick 10.9.2 run very very slow and it have a lot of lag. And so ai provide to reinstall the native HDD and it run very well. I decided to buy another SSD of  OCZ, the previous was Samsung 830, and the system didn't recognise the ssd, but if i  link it with usb it work. Anyone have the same problem?

Thank you for your reply :),
I verified multiple times to ensure that the MBP-R and the ATV2 were connected to the same wifi. That's all that would be required with my network set up since there are no configured sub-networks. All of the devices connected can see each-other. I also verified this by checking in the router. Sure enough, the ATV2 is listed with all of the other devices.
There were other problems related to Internet content with the ATV2 when I shipped it in for repairs under warranty. It was constantly disconnecting and reconnecting, and no matter what, it wouldn't remember any settings. I noticed these defects after I asked this question. I suspect that, because there has been some horrible weather and lots of power surges here,  that it became damaged from a surge. This was not plugged into a surge protector like everything else, so I brought that on upon myself unfortunately.

  • Macbook Pro Mid 2012 didnt turn on, pink screen, now okay! problem? :)

My Macbook Pro v10.7.3 Mid-2012 edition was SUBMERGED "totally" in the water when the pipe in the restroom burst and my mac was in the floor. It was inside a leather case. When I went to turn it on, it turned on (wow).
After a month of using it, today, it didn't turn on. But the "sleep indicator light" would blink once but the screen would remain turned off. So i searched on google to find out that the ram could be not inserted properly, but ive never opened my macbook so i didnt open my mac.
I've decided to put the macbook upside down perhaps because I was still thinking the ram was not properly inserted and that putting it upside down would insert it properly and wait for like 30 minutes before turning it on again.
After the 30 minutes, I tried turning it on and to my surprise, it turned on but with a pinkish screen. and no apple logo. Without an apple logo, it didnt start up and was able to enter my password to boot my mac.
I searched on google again and tried to turn it on. Before turning it completely, I pressed command + option + r + p. and to my surprise again, the screen was no longer pink.
What could have been the problem of my macbook?
    I was thinking of (problems):
    Logic Board
    RAM not inserted properly
Room was so cold and the mac was overcold (as opposed to overheat)
There is a problem in my graphics card
    Motherboard problem
    *edit changed to 12pt

I would first try SMC and PRAM resets:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379
If no success, I would erase the HDD and reinstall the OSX.
    Ciao.

  • Can't install Windows 8.1 on Macbook Pro (mid 2012) after installing/removing refit

So I recently installed and removed rEFit on my macbook (I was trying to clone a windows install to the drive to keep it handy, and thought I'd need it to boot from the install), and haven't been able to get Windows 8.1 (x64) to install since -- I keep getting an error message (0x C0000005). I've tried removing all the partitions the installer makes, leaving extra room, etc, but nothing works. I tried to run the EFI updater, but it says it isn't supported by the system (I downloaded the 9,1 version).
    Anyone have any ideas?

Quick update -- I've tried resetting the pram, running the windows startup repair, and running bootrec.exe through the command prompt. No luck with those so far.
Just opened disk utility and saw the screenshot below....could be part of it, but I've deleted the partitions several times...

  • My Ipod is frozed on the restore screen (the one with the apple, when you restore it). I don't know how to fix it, my computer says it is corrupt. What do I do?

I was adding music to my Ipod the other day, from some cds I bought. My ipod randomly crashed, and said it was corrupt, and needed to be restored. So I began the restoration. It restored, said it needed it again! I began to restore it again, and my Ipod froze on the restore screen (where the apple shows). I don't know how to fix this, and I really don't want to buy a new one.
    Help?

What happens if you try resetting it while still connected and restoring it one more time in iTunes?  To reset the iPod, press and hold both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • My iPad 3 is not charging on my macbook pro mid-2012. It was working yesterday and it is not working now, and I'm trying to transfer files between them. How do I charge my iPad with my macbook without having to be a completely new computer?

I am trying to transfer files between my ipad 3 and my macbook pro mid-2012 and they will just not connect. I connected them yesterday and it worked fine. And i can not air drop these files into my ipad it has to be done through itunes. And i can not afford to buy a new computer. How do i get these two to connect without having to buy a completely new computer?

Computer USB ports, regardless of the computer maker, have a relatively low power output and thus are not good chargers. They will charge but it takes a long time. You should be charging your iPad from wall power, or a more powerful source like an in-car charger.
Buying another computer will not change that.
