Yes, CTRL-click on one of them, but why? Unchecked songs will usually be excluded from any device you sync with and will also be skipped during normal playback. If you're using the first effect to control what goes on your device, and "living with" the second then why not switch to using playlist selections for the device. Otherwise one inadvertent CTRL-click on a checkbox will undo all your selections.

Not exactly, but down-arrow will swap the images, and 'z' will always zoom the "select" one, if the "Link Focus" padlock is unlocked. Is that close enough for your needs?

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
1. Right click images you want to share.
2. Select Export version.
3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.

Installing i-tunes on a new laptop and my library has disappeared ... help!

... in installing i-tunes on my new laptop and taking all the the latest upgrades has resulted in my i-pod being wiped clean. I still have the music on an external drive (although I think I can kiss goodbye to the playlists).
I have copied the music files in their i-pod set up folders in to the right directory on the c:drive but the i-tunes software doesn't pick it up and still says the library is empty. I have also been to edit / preferences / advanced and tried changing the folder to recognise the external drive (which is how I had it set up on the old laptop as I ran out of hard disk capacity) but this hasn't worked either.
Can anyone out there help me find a way of getting I-tunes to recognise these files so I can see them in the library .. and then I assume I can re-synch the i-pod and get them back without having to reload 5000 songs. Even better is there anyway of recovering my original configuration and then I won't have to redo the playlists either

Well, unfortunately, the external hard drive only stores the music files. The playlists will have been on the old machine, easily recoverable, or on the iPod, possibly recoverable.
As it is, you may just have to rebuild your library, foregoing your playlists, ratings, etc.
To do this, go to edit\prefs\advanced, and make sure the following settings are selected:
DO NOT copy to iTunes folder when adding to library
DO NOT keep iTunes folder organized
Now, go to the external, and drag the entire music folder into iTunes.
Then, go back to edit\prefs\advanced, and change the folder back to the external.

In the future, consider occasionally saving the two library files (.xml, .itl) from My Music\iTunes to the external.

Restoring from backup will result in the iPod being like it was when the backup was made. If you restore via iTunes, you have to have all the synced media in your iTunes library since those are not included in the iPod backup.

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. You can only obtain warranty OR post warranty service in the country of original purchase
As your iPhone has user damage it has no warranty
IF the iPhone originated from Spain or another EU country you can get out of warranty service in any EU country
