I was trying to back up my phone data and not the pics as it would've been too many GB and somehow managed to deleted nealy all my cloud info that's not backed up anywhere else as someone stole my last iphone - any chance its salvageable? (Kids baby pics)

Do you not backup your photos and other stuff?
(iCloud does not store your photos or your music so you could not have deleted it from iCloud)

If your phone is offline, the ONLY way to find it is to look for it the old fashioned way. Your phone CANNOT be located electronically if it's offline.

call them, tell them you NEED a new battery installed, and they need to tell you when they can do it. That is their job to help you! Give pushback if necessary.

Operating a business with a computer and not keeping current backups is a very dangerous thing to do. Hard drives can fail at any time. Experienced IT people will tell you there are two kinds of hard drives - those that have failed and those that are going to fail. The only question is when.

No. Apple only keeps the pdf file for a book for 30 days. Without the library and book project you won't be able to reorder the same book.

iCloud has totally messed up all my contact info. Every time I try to enter new contact info iCloud hiccups and fails to save it. I can only intermittently log in because it's always encountering errors when connecting to the server. Basically, iCloud blows. Is there any way to go back?

No, that's a bit of a naive statement, imo. I've just had a conversation about this on another forum.
I'm with the OP - I wish the take folder thing could be optionally turned off so we could revert to the old pre-8 behaviour.
I had developed a very fast and efficient workflow over years - for example, while a vocalist was recording takes in cycle mode, I would be splitting, colouring, muting, naming, selecting and rejecting phrases as we went.
This is much faster than doing a bunch of takes, and then comping them afterwards.
Unfortunately, this is now no longer possible in LP8, as you cannot do a "create and mute tracks in cycle record" as you could do before (this option still exists in LP8 for MIDI, but not for audio). At least it was, I haven't looked at it again for a while, but I seem to remember it was the case.
Also, quick swipe comping will not let you nudge segments in time, so you have to do your comping, then move the comp to a flattened file, then split and retime when you need to do this. And you certainly cannot comp or organise your takes while recording.
While there are some nice things about quick swipe comping, it's not a fully developed solution, and at least for me and some others, the newer workflow is *far less efficient* than how we used to do it.
Good reasons for being able to optionally turn take folder management off.
In fact, when people would ask for this take folder method pre-8, I was against the feature. I find having multiple "hidden" tracks on one "real" track (like how some other DAWs did it) a much inferior solution than Logic, which could have multiple tracks all on the same audio object - so everything was visible and directly editable - none of this "choose which take to play" stuff. This was (and still is) a great feature of Logic.

Since upgrading from FF 3.x to 8.0.1, I'm experiencing more hangs and crashes. Most recently, FF lost ALL OF MY OPEN TABS. Is there any way to get them back?

Is there any possibility that FF could get them back even though the "Restore Previous Session" menu option is greyed out? BTW, I've had more hangs and crashes with 8.0.1 than with any previous version of Firefox.

I have no clue where it is, but I found out from Verizon that no calls have been made from it since I lost it. It is running Yelp, Myspace, Hotmail, Facebook, and a few other apps. Wish I had installed Find My iPhone or gMail... now I know.

Unfortunately there's nothing you can do without already having the app on your phone.
Having the "Find my iPhone" app on the phone wouldn't help locate it at all. The App is only for locating one iOS device from another. It does nothing to assist locating the device the app is installed on.
For a phone to be trackable, the MobileMe account has to be configured on the device, Location Services needs to be on, the phone needs power and a it needs a network connection.
