I just lost a lot of photos. Very Angry!
Well I just used Sony Bridge for Mac to export photos from my Z2 to iPhoto, then deleted them off my phone. Well guess what?? For 90% of the photos it exported THUMBNAILS?!?!?!?!?!? This is ridiculous. I've now lost all my photos. This is unacceptable. Is there a way to recover the photos? Unfortunately I deleted them off internal memory so I think no...
Yeah I admit I could have been more careful but I guess I'm just used to these things working... I saw the export complete and saw the photos in iPhoto so I assumed that was enough. I've never seen photo export from a camera, phone or SD card as thumbnails... it either exports or it doesn't! grrrr..
They were on internal memory because i copied them over from my Sony RX100 digicam. They copied by default to internal memory? Oh well... thanks for the replies. Very disappointed

I have IPhone 4. A couple of days back I tried to open the camera and all of a sudden my iphone started rebuilding the library. Afterwards when I checked, I had lost a lot of photos. Unfortunately I had not backed up on my system. Can someone please tell me if those photos can be recovered?
Thanks.If you had not backed them up or extracted them to your computer already, they are most likely gone. You can try a re-set (hold power and home until you see the Apple logo), but if they don't show up afterward, they are gone.

Lost my latest library photos on Aperture

I've noticed that Aperture has a tendency to 'forget' where it's projects are sometimes. It's just a matter of closing and reopening Aperture to get it sorted.
Worst case scenario; you'll need some kind of data recovery software. If all of your pics were on your computer and they got deleted somehow, you should be able to get some of them back. Just search Google for 'mac data recovery' and see what's best recommended. You'll probably need a 2nd hard drive, as recovery software usually needs some place to dump everything it finds. -

Since a while I have received from apple the warning for an up grade for my Os x Mountain Lion and finally I decider to do it. . . . and since it was just an up grade I DIDN'T DO A BACK UP of all the content of my book pro because I thought it wasn't necessary . . . .but when I did it . . . . .it cancelled me all my files in documents, most of all my mail boxes in mail and most of my bookmarks in safari.
I do not understand why; since i did not change my os but just did an up grade of my existing one. . . . . .result I lost a lot of data and I do not know what to do.
Is this normal that it cancelled data in my documents folders and in others parts of my mac pro ?? ? ? . . . .ad if it is so why don't you write a warning saying that before going through with a simple up grade of your OS of your computer everybody should do a back up of everything it has in it ?!?!?!

Da qualche tempo mi era avvivato l'annuncio da vii di apple che c'era un ap grade per il mil system operative per il mio Os x mountain lion e alls fine ho deciso di faro . . . . .siccome era solo un au grade del systema operativo e non un cambiamento per un Os più recente non ho fat to un back up di tutti il contenuto del mio mac pro . . . .ma dope averlo fat to l'up grade ho realizzato che il procedimento mi aveva cancellato tutti i file contenuti nei midi document, le mailbox che avevo create in mail e i bookmarks che avevo create in safari . . . . . .e forse anche altre cose che non ho ancora visto.

i save my photos to camera roll. then back up but can't see it on icloud. why? we just lost 300 photos on my other iphone because we do not get proper help. that's why i need to learn now.
You can't view your back up files at icloud.com.
You can't view your camera roll and you can't view your Photo Stream files at icloud.com.
The icloud back up plan allows you to "restore" your iOS device from the files you backed up at icloud.com. -
hi there, i've just finish our schools year book (voluntarily) and it has 155 pages incl. front/backcover. This file has 1800 links a lot of photos and a few reports. everytime i go to save as PDF it freezers on page 66. i need the book printed in hi-res? im running out of "printing time" as we need it back to school by 10th december for 12th December distribution.
what do i do? if i save it in low res pdf everything will be a blur...can someone please come to my rescue. i have a

I just purchased the new iPhone4 but when I went to plug it into Itunes for the first time I found that I had lost al of my photos, videos and music. I thought I had backed up my old Iphone by plugging it into Itunes before turning it in. Is there anyway to recover my photos and such?

Time machine. Went back to c=when it worked last and now I can't update old version as it has error saying I have updated version. THE UPDATED VERSION DOESN'T HAVE MY O;D STUFF. I HAD THOUSANDS OF PHOTOS. TAGGED AND ORGANIZED THAT TOOK A LONG TIME TO DO. THIS UPGRADE IS VERYY DISPOINTING FOR AN APPLE PRODUCT. THIS REMINDS ME OF WINDOWS STUFF I LEFT.

I have just returned home from holiday and reset my phone to icloud (having said it wouldn't lose any information) I now find that I appear to have lost all my holiday photos. Has anyone got an idea how to retrieve them?
If you've enabled PhotoStream, you should be able to find photos there. Otherwise, you are SOL.

i have ipod 4th gen, just updated ios 6, after all... i lost all of my photos, and i don't have any idea what to do to get my photos back, i have thousands photos at my ipod, pleeeaasseee... help me....
I updated to ios 6 on my iPod touch earlier and had the same issue. I think iCloud has been backing mine up though. I freaked out because all 500 of my photos were gone and my stupid self didnt do a back up... But then they all reappeared :..) Maybe i just got lucky? Good luck though..

I have a feeling this has been up here a lot. I updated ios 6 to my phone (4S) with no problems but I also back my phone up. I decided to help the wife out and update hers and something went wrong data lost. All contacts, photos, etc without backup, help.
if you have no back up in icloud or itunes the best you can do is sync with your computer and get back what you can from there

"Last Month" in RECENT shows a lot more photos than just last month's photo
For some reason when I select "Last Month" in RECENT (on the left) I get a lot more photos than just last month, it seems like just about all the photos from the current year!
Any one else running into this problem?
By the way, my library was originally created using iPhoto '07 and I upgraded when iLife '08 came out.Indeed that is the case but it sounds to me like a bug and not a feature.
