Just lost my Mac Pro

I attempted to instal windows XP on My MacPro in 10.6.6 using bootcamp. I tried the work around for installing boot camp described here on the forums for working around bootcamp assistant 3..03,I followed all instructions windows installed, but now my macpro is a windows machine it no longer recognizes mac os on my start up drives, I have two with two separate copies of snow leaopoard. The mac pro will only boot in windows I cannot startup to Mac os using the option key, it will not see my Snow Leopard disk to start up from or my disk warrior disk, It doesnt act like a mac any more, it is like it is totally a windows box,please tell me there is a way I can recover from this,

Windows XP though requires that you use Boot Camp Assistant, it is not the same as Windows 7 64-bit where you don't need Boot Camp Assistant.
I have no idea if you installed XP on the same drive or not; or gave it full use of one entire drive.
Normally you have to remove any drive other than the drive Windows will go on. XP and Boot Camp Assistant will forever be associated with where OS X and XP are or were, in case you try to move them.

Did the drivers off OS X DVD get installed into XP okay?
I have not used XP, others have, on Mac Pro, but I would advise skipping and either using XP in a VM, or buy Windows 7 instead.

Hey guys, I've been trying to save my mac from this constant lag for the past few days to no avail. I've been reading the forums and trying to figure this out myself but I haven't been able to reach a solution so here I am. I've done a clean reinstall. I've run disk permissions and repaired the disk. I've reset PRAM. I don't have FileVault running. I am constantly getting rainbow wheel, even as I'm typing this question out. Applications freeze in their own windows, for example, Chrome will freeze but I will still be able to move over to another application like safari and use safari. It's practically impossible to run any kind media because it stutters constantly. Any and all help is welcome, thanks in advance.
Problem description:

It's been a few days since my last post, i've tried uninstalling chrome and adobe flash but my mac is the same. My problems have actually grown. Now my mac is heating up even when the lid is down and the computer is sleeping. The battery has also begun to drain very quickly. Any suggestions? solutions? I have an old G5 MAC I want to recycle but I need to clean my drive. I can't find the diskette that came with the MAC to do this. Any suggestions

Any suggestions on wiping my MAC drives clean if I don't have the diskette that came with it?

Don't mean to upstage a level 6 Tech but having just wiped my own G5 for reinstall, I know you can do it on the computer monitor. If by "recycle" you mean to sell or give away the computer, go to Disk Utilities (in Application/Utilities) and hit the erase button, choose the 35x swipe and it's supposed to clean it completely within a couple of hours. I did the 7x wipe and got a sudo (single user que) showing nothing but the presence of BSD initiation and a "We're hanging here". Did a reinstall and it's beautiful.

Just upgraded to MAC Pro From G5

I just upgraded computers from a G5 to a MAC PRO. I lost some of my personalized playlists. My library is on an external. All my music is in the Music folder but lost all my playlists. Also my purchased music folder does not contain all the purchases made over the years. They all are in my music folder. Any way to re-create?

THis just helps SWITCH the music from the front to the back. I am looking to have the music come out BOTH ports at the same time.
There are 2 of us in my office trying to listen to the same music (with a wall between us). In 10.4 music came out both ports at the same time....my speakers plugged in from and then a wire plugged in back and through the wall to my co-worker on the other side. I can't do that now...it's either one or the other...any way to make it come out BOTH at the same time again?

Use "Sound" system preference to set output to one device you want. In Audio Hijack Pro's "Input" tab, set "Source Type" to "Application", select your sound application, click "Hijack", make sure "Mute" is off, go to the 'Effects" tab, click the top-left blank square to insert an effect, choose "Auxiliary Device Output" from "4FX Effect" and set "Device" to the other desired audio output. Use "In" gain on the effect to control its volume.
You can also hijack two applications, so you can send different audio to each output.
It may be simpler to get a splitter for the line-out if you want the same sound to both locations.
An AirPort Express is another way to send audio to other locations if your Mac Pro has the AirPort option.
There is also the Digital Audio output.
You can add more audio outputs with iMics

Just got a new mac pro - flashing question mark and more...

I wonder if anyone can help me solve this problem. i just bought a mac pro, turned it on and a flashing question mark blinked on the screen. i got on my mac book to search apple.com for the problem and it said to boot with the install disk and hold the c key. i did all that and now i cannot take out the disk. i'm still unable to select a startup disk either. i currently have a mac g5 and loved it but it is old am really surprised with having this problem. can anyone help?

If it's new and it does that, it's very likely a loose component. If you feel comfortable doing so, open the case, and make sure that the RAM is firmly seated in its sockets and the drive cables firmly connected to the drives and the circuit board. Also check the power cables to the drives.
Depending on how the computer was handled in transit, these things can get jostled loose, and loose RAM or cabling will give you what you observe.
The other possibility is an outright hardware fault. Though rare, there's always hardware that resides in the tail of the service-life bell-curve due to some manufacturing / material defect. Apple is historically excellent about replacing same. You need to contact AppleCare or bring the unit to an Apple store or authorized repair center.

Why don't you just restore the to your pc from your most recent backup? You'll get the warning about erasing the media on the phone, but since you'll have all of your media and apps restored from backup, you shouldn't have much of a problem.

If you just got it back and it isn't fixed or something else is wrong with it take it back and have them do the repair correctly.

Just Bought a Mac Pro... Question about an upgrade

So I just got my mac pro home... 2.66, 5gig, 250gig, 23 apple screen.
Absolutly love the machine. blazing fast and it does everything.
I put windows on it with bootcamp and wanted to try a serious video game on it to test how it handled it.
I was pleased but not thrilled with the results. The game ran great on the settings the game put the game at. But when I started to turn the res and details up... I turned it up to the max (ps this was the new hitman game). It loaded the game, and the game looks amazing, but its choppy as heck.
The video card that I have in there is the GeForce w/ 256 ram on it.
My Question is... can I send that video card to apple and have them give me a bigger video card with me only having to pay the difference?
If thats a no, since the website store allows for multiple video cards in the computer, could I just add another more serious video card ontop of the one thats in there to increase the graphics capabilities of it?

Apple will not exchange the video card with an upgraded one. The only way to do this would have been with a build to order. Your best bet is to put that card on eBay and buy the new X1900 XT. The standard card in the MacPro isn't really designed for gaming but the X1900 is the best there is right now.

Photoshop CS6's perpetual license does not allow you to run on both operating systems.
