Good to see some positive feedback, rather than the negative comments we often see here! iMovie '11 is a fun program to use. Like any software, it will have its annoying glitches and missing elements here and there, but overall it's a credit to the developers.
Like you, I'm enjoying the new features, some of which are not as obvious as the Trailers, for example, "Allow Black" in the Viewer when using letter-boxed or pillar-boxed photos with the Ken Burns effect - or the Rolling Shutter adjustment feature to help correct motion problems ("jello" effect) when stabilizing clips shot with CMOS cameras.
Apple showed they listen by improving audio editing ("rubber banding" similar to HD 6) and re-introducing a "timeline" option for those who prefer to see everything in a straight line, rather than spread down the screen like word processing. We could go on, but I'll stop there!

Just upgraded to LR2. I love the new features but LR constantly crashes
Help please. I just upgraded from 1.4 to 2.4. I think the new features are superb but all too frequently while I am in the Develop Module, LR freezes and the only thing I can do is torce it to close from Task Manager. What should I check? I never had a single system crash with LR 1.x.

BTW: if using nVidia card you may find that switching performance modes helps. Unfortunately, I can't recall how or to what, but one the least obvious modes. -
Hi - just using the new iMovie for the first time - apparently there should be a sidebar containing tools like "Content Library". Not on mine - even in Window view, Content Library features like text etc are all greyed out - obviously it's me - anyone help please?
Sorry - I should have added that I have imported a Quicktime movie, originally created as an iPhoto slideshow.
I want to create rolling credits at the movie end and apparently you can only do this using iMovie - can you help please? -
Hi. I just downloaded Firefox 4. Some of the new features are missing such as the new "Firefox Button" and the new location for the bookmarks button. It almost looks just like Firefox 3. I am using Windows XP on this desktop computer. On my laptop, running Windows Vista, Firefox 4 has all the updates advertised. Why is this happening? How do I fix?

I just installed the new mountain lion software on my iMac. I was currently running Snow Leopard. My problem is with my mouse. Now when I scroll down the page it moves in the opposite direction. In system preferences I tried checking and unchecking Natural for scroll feature. Movement from side to side works fine. Has anyone experienced this problem?
I think this new scrolling behaviour was introduced with Lion. You do get used to it pretty quickly (well I did). Are you sure that deselecting Natural Scrolling in Mouse Prefs doesn't re-instate the previous behaviour, it does here.

I just downloaded the new Firefox 4, rebooted, and viewed your videos re the new look and new features. Problem is, my toolbars look no different than before. The new icons you talk about do not appear on my screen. Please advise. Thank you.
The Firefox icon is the default feature for Windows Vista and 7 only, it does not apply to Windows XP users.
To have the Firefox icon instead of the Menu Bar:
View > Toolbars and UNCHECK the Menu Bar.
After that, click on the Firefox icon and you'll have the Menu Bar appear again.

I just downloaded the new OS X and now I can't enlarge the page (pictures, text) by tapping the mouse. I loved that feature. How do I get it back ?
Thank you very much. I just called Apple support and the woman told me I was out of luck because with the new OS X it (that feature) was gone.
I'm not sure she knows too much.

Just downloaded Illustrator CC 2014 and none of the new features are showing up. Can anyone help? Thanks! I really need to figure it out so I can start using the awesome new features for Illustrator.
in creative cloud does it show as up to date? if not "Update illustrator"
if it does I would think about uninstalling illustrator and re-installing.

I've downloaded the new 5.0 update and not all the new features are there. Just the newsstand, reminders and videos icons plus icloud. Everything else is the same as before. What should I do now? It says I have the latest update. ???
Hummmm, you might not be missing anything... From what I understand, really the only new visible add-on apps type programs are Newstand and Reminders. The Notification Center seems to be about how your info and alerts are pushed to your screen and you control that thru the phone settings>General>Notifications, the panel is accessed by swiping downward from the top of your screen. Weird I know, should be more obvious. Enjoy!
Don't forget, you can now use the volume button on the side of your phone to take photos. I really like this!

Just upgraded my old iWeb app to version 3.0.4 from an iLife 11 disk. I like some of the newer features but it seems to have one glitch: when I upload the pages to my ftp server, the automatic navigation bar at the top of the page disappears. Any ideas? Thanks.

Love the new version! Just one small issue with pixelpoint stylus

one minor issue is the undo button on the Adonit pixelpoint stylus only works intermittently. I find when it doesn't work I do one or two more strokes after which it works. Love LOVE LOVE the new highlights treatment tool! But I do have a suggestion!
I have been using plugs to get the kind of treatment I now see in Lightroom4!!! Love LOVE LOVE the new treatment panel! It really makes it much easier and significantly quicker to edit all the photos of a weding, etc. I was able to use the sync function to carry my settings of whites and highlights over to all pictures but I don;t know which control actually syncs this new feature... Can you add some distinction into the sync panel to be able to sync more specifically the desired selections? At the moment I see the exact same sync pad as I always have though the treatment panel has changed. I understand that you pulled some of the features from under Tone Control but the whites come from elsewhere (not sure actually from where). It would be nice to be able to sync JUST the whites or JUST the blacks, etc., without having to sync it all. Can you create a new sync panel?

AngelaOn Windows, you can only open one at a time. Lightroom checks for another copy running at startup and simply transfers control to that one. Libraries don't matter. It worked that way with the last Beta.
On Macs, you can run both simultaneously.

Some of the new features of iPhoto 8 (09)
The following are some of the new features of iPhoto 8 that are not publicized on the Apple iPHoto site:
1 - iPhoto 8 now will open directly the library that you double click on instead of opening the last opened library.
2 - it has a new option in the rebuild window, *Rebuild Library Database from automatic backup*. With luck that might just make the need for my Automator workflow to backup the Library6.iPhoto database file obsolete. Let's hope so.
3 - all MobileMe galleries published will automatically be included in all iPhoto Libraries.
4 - when you move your cursor over a thumbnail image there is a small "i" in the lower right hand corner that, when clicked on, opens the Info window for that photo. There you can assign a location via Google.
5 - upon launching iPhoto with the Option key depressed a window will open that will list all iPhoto libraries on your boot drive and all connected HDs except that used for Time Machine. It will also list any folder containing a Library6.iPhoto file. So if you have a backup copy of the dB file in a folder somewhere on your HD that folder will be displayed in the list of available libraries to open.
As a general note I've found that iPhoto Library Manager will work with iPhoto 8 (09) as far as selecting the library to open. I haven't tested the copy, merge or rebuild features as yet.
That's about I've come across in the short time I've been experimenting with it. *By far the best new feature IMO is No.2 above.*

A potential bug on the new feature (12c) of Identity Column?

I am testing a newly introduced feature of Identity Column in Oracle 12c. I used EclipseLink (JPA) to access the database.
I may have found a potential bug with this feature. I am getting "ORA-30667: cannot drop NOT NULL constraint on a DEFAULT ON NULL column" when I try to insert a row. My code doesn't explicitly drop "NOT NULL" constraint.
When I delete all the tables under the user and re-define the user and the tables, the error disappear.

Importing power point slide into captivate
Not sure what I am doing wrong. I imported an animation slide from power point to captivate last night and it worked great (using Captivate2) I tried this morning (using cpativate 3) and the animation will not play, it just looks like a picture. Is t
