But don't expect too much. PDF files aren't made for editing. The layout may change beyond recognition.

Wow I see from the other responses to similar questions that the phone may be jailbroken. I thought I was purchasing an unlocked phone that was legal to use with any system. What a disappointment, I will have to go back to where I purchased this phone and let them have an ear full.

Do you mean Bluetooth?
If you are trying to activate your iPhone you need to use iTunes.
There's no need to "pair" an iPhone with a Mac. Syncing, restoring, backing up, apps/ music / photos etc., is all done with iTunes.

Hey there, over the next few sentences you'll probably be thinking I'm a hobo or something but whatever. I found an iPhone on the footpath today and it was kinda wet from inside. When I got it home and took it apart to see how much water was inside, there wasn't that much, a bit damp though. My dad dried it off with a blow dryer (Yeah I know, he isn't great with electronics) and cracked the screen right between the middle trying to open it up. I chargered it a little and I could faintly see the Apple logo. The screen went black shortly after and I couldn't do anything. Sometimes I can see something that looks like a USB plug but it was hard to tell. Any of the computers with iTunes in my house don't recognize the phone. The screen might turn into the Matrix's code (you know, all the green numbers lined up?) if you looked at it from real far and had sunglasses on.
I think it's an Iphone 3G, so what are the chances of this thing actually working? Is it completely busted, would it be worth taking it to get repaired, selling it for spare parts or just throwing the thing away?

There are a couple things that I would recommend trying. Try closing all open applications and power cycle the device. Next, go through the section labeled Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in the second article below. If the issue persists, try completely signing out of the iTunes Store on the iOS device and sign back in. Be sure to test downloading an application after each step.

How do I get this thing to work?

I have Photoshop Elements 10 and Windows 7. When I first installed Photoshop it worked fine, then after a month or so it wouldn't open.
Under Case # 0184148455 Adobe gave me the following instructions:
1. Navigate to C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10, right-click on PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe file and select Properties;
2. In Properties window, select Compatibility tab;
3. Check the option "Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP Service Pack 3;
4. Check the option "Run this program as an administrator", then click OK;
5. The click on Windows Start button, type %programdata% and hit enter, In Program Data folder, open Adobe folder and rename Photoshop Elements folder to Photoshop Elementsold;
6. Then double-click on PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe file and check if you can launch Photoshop Elements 10.0
I followed these steps and lo! Photoshop opened.
That was about 6 weeks ago, now, today, again, Photoshop won't open.
I retraced the above steps and, after 5. I note there are now two folders, PhotoshopElements which contains two files: 10.0 6/9/13 and FileAgent, 6/9/13, and
PhotoshopElementsold which contains 10.0 3/17/13 and FileAgent 3/18/13 plus Catalogs 3/17/13 which is just an empty folder.

It worked! Thanks very much.

On one website I go to for work, it says connection reset while page was loading. I was trying to change the permissions for this website but it doesn't even show up in my permission list. Help please. I need this website for work.

I have contacted this website tech support and they say this issue is on my end. On certain pages on their web site I try go to it will say connection reset. Connection reset while page was loading. I was trying to do anything and everything I can to make sure firefox is allowing access to all pages on this website. I use this website for work I do.

The "The connection was reset" error message can be caused by a bug fix for the BEAST (Browser Exploit Against SSL/TLS) attack that the server doesn't handle.

First, you can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears. Try again to see if the problem persists.
If yes, it may not be charging properly. Be sure you are using the charger that came with the iPad. The iPad 2 requires a 10W charger. If you are using a different charger, including the one that came with an iPhone, it will charge very slowly if at all.
Also try charging a different device with the charger to be sure it and the cable are working properly.

I bought my 4th gen 8G in october, about a month later the backlight stopped working i tryed everything. So i sent it in for repairs it came back saying it got water damage....NOT POSSIBLE. iv used it maybe 3 times and i was in bed. Iv been out of town for a month and i forgot it here, its barley been touched. WHAT DO I DOOOO?!! PLS HELP ME!

MacBook Pro won't boot up. HELP!!! Need this computer for work tomorrow!!

My MacBook Pro will not boot. I was using it fine one minute, closed the lid to walk downstairs. Opened the lid and there was nothing. Tried to reboot it ... no chime with a black screen... nothing. Battery is working and fully charged. Tried using the power plug as well.

There are many comments about the NVIDIA GPU issue and Apple not replacing the GPU. I will say I had good success in getting Apple to replace mine in my Macbook Pro. When my computer suddenly would not fully turn on, I researched the issue to find out the possible reasons and then somewhat dawdled in taking it in. It was 2 weeks past the 4-year GPU warranty window. But I had had problems for some time preceding when it wouldn't fully turn on, such as geo designs appearing on the screen and the screen going dark, and those issues did occur at least a month or more before my warranty ended. I had no idea what those issues meant and simply ignored them until the computer wouldn't fully turn on.
The good folks at The Apple store in Austin initially said no luck; yes it's the GPU but it's two weeks past the warranty. But then they kindly relented because clearly the symptoms I described to them that occurred during the warranty were caused by the faulty GPU. How would I know this was the issue? They replaced the logic board at no cost. I've seen comments here that a Genius said the problem was the logic board, not the GPU, and therefore Apple would not make the repair. I was told by my Genius that the GPU is part of the logic board, and therefore the logic board needed replacing. This was a $526 repair that I was grateful Apple took care of. I would not have made the repair and would have gone out and bought a new non-Apple computer with a warranty.
When I got my computer back, I checked it before I left the Apple store and it was running slow. I ended up paying Apple to replace the hard drive, so ultimately I did pay for an Apple repair. But I'm a happy rather than disappointed Apple customer because of the free GPU repair. Happy, devoted customers has made Apple a great company, and it should be worth it to the company to fix the faulty GPUs that are close to warranty to keep customers and keep them happy.

After installing OS X Mavericks, my cursor has been not working, by not even having a triangle cursor, just a set of lines, that expand across the whole screen when it goes over a random thing! Working on and off and getting worse, what should I do ?

If your cursor isn't working as expected, there are a few steps that can help isolate or resolve the issue.
First, try booting your computer into safe mode:

If the cursor is working normally in safe mode, this usually means OS X is fine, and the issue is caused by conflicting software in your user account.

How the bleepin-bleep do I get this **** thing to work?

I'm trying to create an automation that opens a series of excel files (got that to work), and then runs a series of steps (like the old macros used to do) on each one. However, my pseudo-macro doesn't work, all I get is a generic "encountered an error" error message. I can't figure out what is the error, I can't find any useful help documents, and I was even less successful trying to create an applescript to replace macros a few weeks back. I'm wasting more time on this "time saver" than it would take to repeat these 10 steps 120 times! HELP!

I can't get this thing to work!!!!

I plug my ipod into my computer at work where I have itunes installed and it shows that the ipod is updating, actually showing the songs getting transfered! When the update is complete, no songs appear on my ipod, no memory is used according to the "settings" "about" screen, but itunes on my computer recognizes it and shows 11 gigs used. I tried resetting a couple of times with the same result-no songs on my ipod. I had itunes on my computer long before I owned an ipod, so this is baffeling. I realize that I'm probably a computer idiot, but this should be simpler.
