I just purchased a MacBook Pro from my college, it shipped with Lion; is there anyway I can update the software to Moutain Lion without having to pay $20 since it is brand new?

It is "last years model" and it came shipped with Mac OS X 10.7.5. I was just wondering if I could update for free since it is brand new mac?

Supposedly if you purchase 10.8 and check out, if the machine is one on the list the account is not charged.
I can't confirm this, but that's what one person reported back as what occured.
