I just purchased a note 3. Everything works well except I cannot send text messages. I can receive them, but I get an error message when I try to send them
Can anyone tell me why I cannot send text messages on my note 3? I can receive them, but when I attempt to send them I get an error message unable to send . . . It's a brand new phone.

I'm guessing you are getting the error for all messages you attempt to send, is that correct?
What type of phone did you upgrade from? We ask because if you have switched from an Apple device (e.g., iPhone) to a non-Apple device (e.g., Android, Blackberry, etc.) and previously used the iMessage service, you may experience issues sending/receiving SMS/MMS messages with Apple device users. You need to deactivate the iMessage service within your Apple account to restore normal SMS/MMS functionality.

Is this problem only occurring with the project you copied from an external drive, or with any FCP project?
For example, if you were to create a new project, do you still have this problem?
In FCP, if you go to the menu FInal Cut Pro > System Settings and look at the Scratch Disks Tab, is it set where you expect it to be? Have you tried switching the scratch disk to a different disk?

Assuming both devices are on the same network and that AirPlay is not turned off on the Apple TV, then simply tap on the screen when you are watching content you wish to stream to your Apple TV, then tap the airplay icon that appears in the control bar, choose the Apple TV from the menu that appears.
When displaying the content you wish to mirror on the iPad 2 (or better), iPad Mini, iPhone 4S (or better), double tap the home button (quickly) and swipe the bottom row of apps to the right to reveal the playback controls, tap the AirPlay icon and select your Apple TV from the list of available devices. -

Trying to update my iTunes but keep getting the error message "the URL could not be opened" what does this mean and how do I resolve this? It's always worked fine in the past!
Select a broken track and press ctrl-i to Get Info. Look on the summary tab for the location where iTunes "thinks" the file should be. Where is it really? Post back the two locations and I can suggest the best approach.

i am trying to install itunes 10.5 but I get an error message that says "click ok to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package iTunes.msi..." I try to point iTunes to the .msi file on my c drive but then it gives me a message says "the file location is not a valid installation packaage for the product iTuness. Try to find the installation package 'itunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install iTunes". Any help, insight, guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
After installing the new Yosemite OS on my iMac I can no longer send email. I can receive email, but not send. I use gmail and can send email on the gmail (google) site, but not on "mail" on my iMac. Any others with this problem? What should we do?
My gmail, which is correctly configured for Mail with gmail SMTP and Google IMAP, works for awhile on Mail, which I leave open while working on other applications. But several times a day I get msg from Google: "We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account" . . . and requiring me to verify my account details, re-enter passwords, confirm security settings (or change them from "disable" to "enable less secure methods" and so on). In Mail I also have tried "taking all accounts online", and re-entering my gmail password inside Mail account settings. These steps successfully re-set comms between gmail and Mail ... for awhile, then it happens again. Enough occurrences over a work day that I just quit Mail and revert to accessing gmail directly. Apple Care advisor and an Apple knowledge base article say that Apple can't deal with this, as gmail is third-party app, and they refer me to gmail, and so far I've found nothing helpful there.
From today I also have several instances of a window saying "Mail has unexpectedly closed" and asking me to Re-open it.
I also use Yahoo mail, which stops working with Mac Mail at the same time as gmail, but I do not receive notices to re-verify from Yahoo.
I recently upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite. The Mail problem happened occasionally with Mavericks but is far more frequent with Yosemite. -
I want to backup my phone before upgrading to ios5 but I get an error message: itunes could not back up the iphone because a session could not be started with the iphone. Since support for your camera was added in Camera Raw 8.3, there is no version of Camera Raw for your version of Photoshop that will enable you to open the NEF files from your camera. One alternative would be for you to download the DNG converter version 8.5, and use it to create digital negative copies of your NEF files. They will still have the raw image data in them, but they will be in a format that your version of Camera Raw can work with. Another alternative would be for you to add Lightroom to your workflow. You would still be able to send copies of your NEF files to Photoshop when needed. The other alternative would be for you to join the creative cloud an upgrade to Photoshop CC. There is a package that includes Photoshop and Lightroom for the monthly subscription price of $9.99 in the US. I think Photoshop CS6 can still be purchased separately as a standalone product. And there is a version of Camera Raw for that version of Photoshop that will enable you to open your NEF files.
While you are trying to decide which way you want to go, you might consider using the DNG converter as an interim solution. It's free, you'll still have your original NEF files, and you'll be able to start working with your raw image data today. Here is the link:

For the first time, I'm trying to use adobe premiere elements 10 that came with my pc Windows 8. I created a single project, saved it but cannot open it. 2. After you saved/closed the problem project, did you move, delete, or rename any of the files/folder that were related to the source media

Take a look at iTunes for Windows: "Error 7" message when opening iTunes. Perhaps your .NET Framework needs a repair.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

I had to get a new ipod....they said I just needed to plug it in and sync to my itunes.. I get an error 1413 when I try to follow the instructions to restore. I can't find any information on error 1413, what does this mean?
Now it keeps saying that it is restored but there is still no music or video on it. And a new error is coming up that says "We could not complete your iTunes store request.The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."

I can ping through to the WLC and the AP.Thanks a lot Loe for the Feedback. The issue was not my configuration but rather the type of Wireless LAN controller I have, the WLC does not support my AP's. I have a Cisco 520 series WLC and got to know they only work with the 500 series AP's. my AP's are 1130 series meaning i have to get another controller or change the APs.

My LR 4 suddenly no longer recognized my memory cards. I am using the same cards and cameras but consisitently get the error message:"files not imported because the files could not be read. they are jpg and nef files...I am stuck without my workhorse!
