I just purchases an ipod nano.  I can not get it to synce with my existing itunes account.  I am not sure what I am doing wrong.  I had no trouble using my ipad or my daughter's ipod touch.

Hi there,
I would recommend taking a look at the information found in the articles below. The first two articles have the same content, but are geared towards either OS X or Windows.

  • I rec'd an iPod Nano and can't get it to sync with playlist. I also have Windows 8. I need help!

I have rec'd an iPod Nano and can't get it to sync with my existing playlist. I am using a Windows 8 Dell laptop. Any suggestions?

One iCloud account has one user name (a .mac or .me email name) and password.  If you have set up multiple accounts in the past then you must choose one and stay with it.  If you don't know the user name, then you have a problem.  If you haven't really begun using iCloud (but you mention trying to get mail, so I'm assuming you have used iCloud before), then use a .mac or .me account you know you have or just sign up for a new account - and be sure to write down the name and password for future use.
If you want to use the account to sync your contacts, email, calendars, etc, then each of your ios devices need to use the same account, otherwise they will be independent of one another.

  • Just got new 4gb nano-where can I get dl for 7.4 version of itunes?

I just bought the 4gb nano, we already have the 30gb classic with 7.3 version of itunes but I need 7.4 or higher for the new nano. I checked the forums and I noticed all of the problems people are having with 7.5 so I want to dl the 7.4 version but I can't find the 7.4 version in the apple downloads. I have a Windows xp and I'm not sure if I have a service pack requires for 7.431 or whatever the one before 7.5 is. Can anyone give me a link to dl 7.4 and let me know if there were any problems with this version? I'm not even sure how it works after I dl 7.4. Will I have to remove the older version and re-install or will it automatically upgrade? I am nervous about losing all of my songs in my library or having problems since I am not that comp savvy. Can anyone help?

Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:
Mac: OS X v10.5.8 or later
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
iTunes 10.5 or later (free download fromwww.itunes.com/download)

I have the ipod touch 2nd generation and I do not have a nike ipod icon. What do I need to do? Please help!

  • I just purchased an ipad2 and i can not get it to come on, what do i have to do.

My husband just bought me an Apple Ipad 2, I cannot get it started there it's not coming on, do I have to load the Apps on my self.

Do you mean that it won't turn on, or that you just get a picture of a cable and the iTunes logo ? If it won't turn on then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds after which the Apple logo should appear.
If you get a cable and iTunes logo on the screen then you need to activate the iPad by connecting it to a computer that has iTunes open on it - getting started guide : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4053

  • Can not get iPhones to sync with Exchange

I have two iphones that I am trying to sync to Exchange accounts. I enter in the settings in the phones without any issues, but when I try to sync, it just acts as if it is going to sync but no messages are downloaded. No errors are displayed on the iphone or on the server. We are able to get messages to the iphones using imap, but that does not give us calendars and contacts.
I also have two blackberry's that are able to pull mail from the server without any problems.
I am running Exchange 2003 SP2 on Windows Small Business Server 2003 SP2. The server is running Symantec Endpoint protection with the network threat protection not installed. I am using a Sonicwall TZ 190 with enhanced firmware for the firewall.
Has anyone with a similar setup run into this problem or have any suggestions?
    Thanks

Apple Macs include a form of digital copy protection that will prevent protected media, such as DRM-infused iTunes movies, from playing back on devices that aren't compliant with the new priority protection measures.
The Intel-developed technology is called High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) and aims to prevent copying of digital audio and video content as it travels across a variety of display connectors, _even if such copying is not in violation of fair use laws._
Among the connectors supported by the technology are the Mini DisplayPort found on Apple's latest MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air, in addition to others such as Digital Visual Interface (DVI), High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), Gigabit Video Interface (GVIF), and Unified Display Interface (UDI).
Apple has apparently acquired a license for the technology and is now using it across its DisplayPort-enabled lines to to prevent transmission of purchased iTunes content (and some DVDs) to devices that don't include support for HDCP.

  • I lost my iPod Nano. Can I retrieve all of the songs in my itunes library, or just the ones I purchased from the store?

I lost my iPod Nano. Can I retrieve all of the songs in my iTunes library, or just the ones I bought through the iTunes store?

The "bar" at the bottom does not say anything about all of your songs being on the iPod.  It just shows you how much of its storage capacity is being used, based on what is on the iPod.
If you see "On This iPod," that means the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is not visible.  This is easier to describe with the sidebar visible, so from the iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
Select the iPod in the sidebar, under DEVICES.  There is a bar of buttons near the top, starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This is the iPod's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music.  You can choose to sync Entire music library, if (?) your iTunes music library fits on the iPod.  With this setting, your entire iTunes music library syncs to the iPod, and new songs get synced automatically.  A 7th gen iPod nano is 16GB, so your iTunes music library would have to be less than 16GB (not counting non-music content on the iPod).  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Then, select (checkmark) the playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres you want on the iPod from the lists below.  If you want newly added songs to sync to the iPod, they must be part of your selection.  For example, you can add them to a playlist that you have selected for syncing to the iPod.
When you click Apply, the songs from your selection sync to the iPod.  Going forward, changes to your iTunes library (based on your settings on the iPod's Music screen) sync automatically to the iPod, the next time it is connected (or when you click Sync).

  • I just purchased an iPod Nano (Red) and want to connect to my truck's speakers.  There is no built-in direct port.  What is the best product to buy to make that connection?

I just purchased an iPod Nano (Red) and want to connect to my truck's speakers.  There is no built-in port to connect.  What is the best product to purchase in order to make a connection?  Thx, Robert

Your truck's audio system may not have a specialized docking port for iPods, or a USB port, but does it have a standard "auxiliary" audio input port?  It would look like headphones jack on the iPod.  If so, you can use a cable like this
    http://www.amazon.com/Monster-iCable-Player-Auxiliary-Input/dp/B002AR5XIK
to connect your iPod's output to the car's audio.
Otherwise, if your audio system is old enough to have a casette tape player, you can get a device that looks casette tape with a cable coming out of it, and play your iPod through the casette tape player.  The other way is to get a device for the iPod that sends the audio, through a low-power radio transmitter, to your car's radio (at a frequency that is normally not used by local radio).  From my experience, neither of those methods work well, in terms of maintaining full audio quality.

  • Help, i just purchased an ipod nano gen 3 4gb trying to load unto pc which is a windows program. how do I do this??

Help, I just  purchased an IPOD Nano Gen 3 4 GB. Trying to load to PC which is a Windows program. How do I do this?

Connect it to your computer and restore it as a new device. Then chose what music you want to sync with it and do so just like your Touch does.

Try holding down the Shift key in Windows when opening iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to an existing one. The default location for your iTunes library is in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\ (or C:\Username\Music\iTunes\ in Vista). Look in there and see if you have more than one library file (they have the extension .itl) If you have more than one try opening them in turn, you may find your original library is still intact: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file

    Hello there, NighHawk420.
The following Knowledge Base article provides some practical information on where to locate the iTunes Extras when purchased with a movie from iTunes:
About iTunes LP and iTunes Extras
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3823
When you purchase a movie with iTunes Extras, the primary movie along with the iTunes Extras will download to your iTunes Movie folder. Mouseover the cover art and click the icon on the album to open the main menu to play the movie or view other features.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
