I just put backed-up songs from a disc onto my computer, and for some weird reason, everything's written in Japanese, and I can't change it to what it's supposed to be. I tried "get track information" but I still have a bunch of Japanese letters. Fix?
The songs still play correctly (like I'll hear the songs originally burnt onto the CD, like Nicki Minaj, Hanson, etc), but they are incorrectly labeled with Japanese characters and I can't correct it. I tried "get track names" and it didn't work. How did this happen and how do I fix it?
Update: He connected his iphone to his friends laptop (the last/only computer it had ever been synced with) it allowed him to do a back up.... AND ..after a few minutes the phone allowed him to start guessing the password again. This was welcome news since in the time between him guessing the password too many times and that point he had learned the password.
We thought the back up might work since it said it might in the apple support article above, but were very surprised it allowed him to guess the password again. Pictures saved AND notes, contacts,..

I was trying to put all my songs from my Ipod onto my New laptop, but they were all erased. Is there anyway I can restore my 200 songs quickly?
If iTunes purchases then:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise you will have to get them from where you originally obtained them -
How do I switch my 6th generation over to my new iTunes account and put all my songs from my iPhone onto it?
The iphone is not a backup/storage device. The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The exception is itunes purchases. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a abckup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put everything back. -

You can recover purchases by installing the latest version of iTunes to your laptop, then select the 'purchases' tab under Store in the sidebar and look at the lower left of the iTunes window for a link to: 'Download Previous Purchases' -
Hi, I have an iTunes account on my laptop set up to work with my old iPod. I now have an iPad and new iPod but set up under a different account- can I put all the songs from my iTunes onto the new devices. Thanks.
Yes
Put all the music on one computer, make sure it is authorized for all accounts, sync. -
I got some pictures from my PC onto my iPad and now can't get rid of them.

I have taken all my photos off the PC and delegated all the pictures I can from the iPad and did a sync and the photo album that I want rid of is still on my iPad.
You don't take the pictures off the PC you leave them there and tell iTunes that you don't want them on the iPad (by unchecking them) and then sync. That will delete the pictures from the iPad. -
For some weird reason now, every time I try to open a LinkedIn page in Safari it seems to get re-routed to a UPS page. Did I inadvertently trigger a script of some kind and, if so, how do I un-do it? This happens, no matter what the LinkedIn page is.
Hi ...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cacche. Quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safar/Cache.db
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.
Doubtful just visiting a page in within the LinkedIn site triggers a script of any kind. -

Is there any way I can find my music? I had originally added this music to my ipod from my old now deceased computer and I didn't have it backed up externally.
Message was edited by: PLATBSPIt is now gone. If it was not iTunes purchased music you will have to get your CDs out and rerip them on the new computer. You have to use 3rd party software to copy non-iTunes music from an iPod to a computer, such as Yamipod.

How can I get songs from my iPod onto my computer?
I had to re-install windows on my computer about a week ago. I was under the impression that I could get my music and playlists back just by pluging my iPod into my computer and then i thought the ipod would snyc with itunes and put all of my music back onto the computer along with my playlists. However, i can't seem to get this to work... any help? I think i've heard of ways to just rip the music off, but what i would really like are the playlists that i had as well...
iPod with video 5G Windows XP ProIf you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers has been introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved but if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

Getting purchased songs from itunes store onto new computer
I have a brand new computer and ipod, and I'm wondering if there is a way to get previously purchased songs from the itunes store into my library and onto my ipod. My computer is already authorized and I know there is a way to get purchased songs from an ipod into itunes, but I can't figure out store into library. Any help would be greatly appreciated
I know there is a way to get purchased songs from an ipod into itunes, but I can't figure out store into library.
I am confused. Purchased items are from the store.
iTunes is the library.
So if you know how to get purchased > iTunes, then you already are moving store > library.
The easiest way to get everything from old computer to new computer is...
Copy the entire \Music\iTunes folder from the old computer to \Music\ on the new computer.
You can use your iPod.
See this -> <How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer/a> -
