I have just recently bought a new laptop and the first time I connected my Iphone to it, it removed all my contacts. How do I retrieve this information????
It didn't do this by itself.
When connecting an iPhone to iTunes on a different computer than the one use for syncing the iPhone, a warning message is provided indicating the iPhone is associated with an iTunes library on another computer. You had to manually select sync contacts with a supported address book app on the new computer which is selected under the Info tab for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. If the supported address book app on the computer is empty - includes no contacts, you must enter one contact in the address book app on the computer for a merge prompt to be provided, which you want to select.
Sync your iPhone with iTunes on your old computer if you were syncing contacts with a supported address book app on that computer.

I bought a new Mackbook Pro and I wanted it to set it up.
I tried to get iCloud to work properly but since the computer is new, I had the whole run around.

You may have some problems because Apple has not certified that everything works with Windows 8 yet. -

Have you synced back up to your iTunes account? This happened to me too, and when I synced back up with iTunes, all of my photos were backed up to my iTunes account and loaded back onto my iPhone.

If they are still in your iTunes library, the answer is "yes", you can resynch to get them back.
If they are not in your iTunes library, and no longer on the iPod, I do not believe they cannot be gotten back easily. You might be able to have someone see if they are still on the disk, but that can be $$$. This is why the ITunes library should be viewed as the primary repository of music, even if you need to purchase an external hard drive or two to have the music and a backup. -
HI so i connect my phone to my computer and everything works but it wont connect to itunes for some reason but did just a few weeks ago. Since no one here can possibly know what you specifically mean by "tried everything that other people are saying", no one can determine what you did wrong. Also, you didn't say what computer OS you use.

I transfered all my pictures into iphoto and yesterday i connected my phone to get charge into my computers and all the pics over 3,000 transered againg to my iphone and i cannot deleted it i dont want those pictures in my phone it takes to much space ....what can i do this is to much??????

Laundh Image Capture and then connect your iPhone. In the window select all of the photos (Command+A) and use the small delete button at the bottom. See if that will delete those photos from your iPhone.

I used to have an iPhone full of all the greatest pictures of my life, the apps i enjoyed the most, and all my numbers to my friends and so on.
Now i have to change computer (The iMac still works) and i wonder, is it possible to move the backup (whereever it is found on the computer) from the iMac and put it onto my new HP laptop?

To answer your question the location on your Mac for your media is at /Users/yournamehere/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music Your contacts and pictures would need to be exported from iPhoto and the app you were using as your contact manager (Address Book, Outlook) The backup file is located at /Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup

You need to... Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

Just installed a new airpot extreme with a modem to use as a wireless system. Setup was successful however with 3 iPads and one laptop we cannot get all devices access to Internet. Each reset of airport extreme results in a different combination of devices that successfully connect. Any ideas as to why?

Let me tell you coulpe of things I noticed:
- Are you using LEAP as the EAP method? some config examples illustrate configuriong using LEAP with WEP keys. Forget this and use WPA2-AES.

- in some AP configurations (AP1 for example) I can see that:
wlccp authentication-server client any method_Users
This means that the wlccp client authentication will use the method called method_Users. Let us see what is configured with this method:
aaa authentication login method_Users group Users
This shows us that the method method_Users uses the server group named Users.
let us see what is configured withe the group Users:
aaa group server radius Users
NOTHING!! it is empty!! so when a client tries to connect it will try to autheticate it against the radius server but the radius server group that it needs to check is empty.
so I think you need to either use the correct method under which the server is configured with the wlccp statement. OR you need to configure the method_Users with correct user group that contains a server.
Check and let me know if that works.

iv moved all the music over thought home sharing... from the old itunes i was using but i want to be able to sync my iphone with the new itunes on my new machine but its saying saying syncing setp 1 of 1 and nothing happens... could someone please help me with this?

Hi, My 17 inch Mac pro laptop just shut down and I can't get it to turn on again. This has happen multiple times over the last six months. Looked through the forum and tried removing the battery and resetting the SMC control to no avail. I was having issues also with the screen a month ago but that resolved by itself. When I took it into the genius bar for screen problems I was told I'd probably need a new CPU board because the vram may be going bad and they just don't fix that
problem. Have held off because of a potential $500 repair and awaiting ivy bridge technology. Does anyone in the community know how I can restart my portable. Right now you turn on the machine and the front light stays on for 2 sec and you hear the machine click off?I think you may have already been told what the problem is.
