I just recently took pictures on my iPhone 4 and when I tapped photos they didn't appear. Then I refreshed the photos app and at the bottom of my camera roll it said restoring now all the pictures that I took are there but they are just blank grey picture
How do I view these photos without them being a grey blank screen
Ok, so I got my pictures back, the ugly way though. What I did:
- made an iCloud backup of my phone (only 2GB instead of the earlier 4GB, because the camera roll was empty)
- restored my last iTunes backup, this was a month old. It was made right before i upgraded to iOS5.
- My pictures were back on my iPhone so i downloaded them to my PC.
- Then I restored the iCloud backup from my phone. The one I made before I restored the iTunes backup.
The pictures where gone again, but at least I had them on my PC.
I don't trust iCloud backups anymore. The backup itself holds all your settings and remembers which apps and data you had installed. But it went wrong when it had to redownload the pictures from the cloud. It was a hard lesson learned. From now on I'll backup my pictures once in a while. I was used to what Apple promises: that everything "just works". No, it doesn't.

I tried to sync music from iTunes to my iPhone and when I click on "on this phone" the songs are there, but they are greyed out and have a circle in front of them. I can not click on those songs, delete or anything and when I eject the phone they are not on the phone. I tried to re-add the songs and it says it can't add songs because they've already been added. So HOW can I get the songs to actually ADD to my phone to where I can listen to them? It's like they're stuck in Sync limbo or something! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am having the same problem. I have just tried this. Unplug iphone > open itunes > delete all music from itunes library > close itunes > re-open itunes > add music from original folder > plug in iphone > select songs > press sync > unplug iphone using eject button onscreen > checked phone .... still nothing in music folder on phone. On itunes the "On this iphone" tab the songs remain there but greyed out.

I just installed a larger hard drive, and used my Time Machine Backup to transfer my files back to the new hard drive. When I open Iphoto, my thumbnails are there, but they aren't linked back to the actual photos. I see the original photo files in my HD. Is there a way to link the Iphoto thumbnails back to the original files?
Use the Firewire cable and t boot the old Mac's hard drive to the new Mac's desktop and transfer your entire iPhoto folder.
Use Disk Utiliy to erase'format HFS+ Journaled your TimeMachine drive and use the free Carbon Copy Cloner and clone your new boot drive to the external, it's hold option bootable. -

downloaded ios7 & now cannot add events to my calendar, they do not appear on screen. SIRI tells me that they are there but I cannot see them. Advice pls?
In your calendars app, click the calendars button below and check if all the calendars are selected. Also click the search button on top(magnifying glass) and see if the events are listed.

someone please help i went to a concert and took tones of videos and pics but then when i got home my camera role was full so i looked on icloud and saw that everything has been saved on there so i didnt worry about deleteing all of my videos and photos but then when i did that ( always the way it goes ya dont reolize until its to late :@ ) all my videos wont play they have almost just turned into photos. you see the start image like on camera role thing but you cant click on it to play the video

I find that shared video can be troublesome, a few haven't appeared to work as you describe but have done when I've looked at a later date. Hopefully they will work if you give them a bit longer. perhaps it would be a good idea if you make sure they are working before deleting them from the camera roll. -
also i had a problem with Lion in app store on my mac mini 2009, kept saying that i need an update, many suggestions but
one that worked was disconnect my external drives to see which one caused the problem and that worked but '
does that mean i cannot use the drive anymore?

I can't get my iTunes library to play on my ipad. All the tunes are there but they are 'greyed out'
when I sync my ipad all the music from my itunes library loks like it comes over but i can't access any of it. the titles are all greyed out and cant be clicked on
The tracks show up in gray because they haven't completely synced to the iPad. My advice at this point would be to backup your iPad, restore to factory settings, then restore the backup and follow that with a sync with iTunes to transfer all of the apps, photos, movies, and music back onto the iPad.
It takes some time to restore the iOS software, but of you follow the instructions here, you will not lose any content at all and actually your iPad may be in better shape than it was before your restored it.

I have an iPhone 4 and after the iso 6.0 upgrade I don't have the 3D option in the map app and I don't have the panarama option on my camera. Some features are there but some are.

I backed up my iphone5 in the morning and later again on the same day, in the afternoon. I then restored an older backup from the morning. Now all my music files refuse to play even though they still appear on iphone. How can I resolve this?
Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.) -
I was just taking a picture on my iPhone 5 when I noticed a purple dot in every picture I took I cleaned the lens and turned my phone off but it's still there . It's annoying ! Does anyone else have this problem ?

I'm missing a lot of my pictures on my phone after going to the cloud. You cab see that the were there but it's just a grey tile now. When I click on it it just spins loading. Any help would be appreciated.
I, on the other hand, had no brightness issues on the 4S after upgrading to iOS 6, and no change in (good) battery life. If could be something else, an app or background process that is less efficient with iOS 6? Could be anything.

I did this and now my videos are not working. They show the pictures aren't there on some and on others it shows they are there, but doesn't show them in the player. When I try to Share anything it just says Waiting for Processing for hours. What do I do?

ThanksI have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.
