Do any iPod Touch apps use the BT chip?
Do any of the iPod Touch apps use the Bluetooth chip? I also read that this is the same broadcom chip that can be used for FM tuning. Does any app use this feature or has this been disabled, too? I want to make sure that I am not missing out on some cool new feature.
You're not missing out on anything. The Bluetooth functionality in the 2nd Generation iPod touch isn't even enabled yet so no apps could use it even if they wanted to until v3.0 comes out.
There has been no mention of FM functionality being activated, and since no iPod has ever had an inbuilt FM receiver it's unlikely the iPod touch will. FM transmitter is more likely, but still no mention of it. -

My ipod touch automatically presses the home button
my ipod touch automatically presses the home button causing apps to close, appswitching tray to pull up, and turning to spotlight search. i dont think my home button is broken; i can press and release it no problem. could this be a software problem?
thanks!I would try the standard fixes inorder:
- Reset the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Restore the iPod via iTunes on your computer. First from backup and if problem persists restore to factory defaults/new iPod. -

can ipod touch be used as voice recorder? what about previous generations? which generations have built in microphones?
4th gen has a microphone pin-hole on the back next to the camera.
2nd and 3rd gens allowed the use of an external microphone using a special headphone jack.
I do not think the 1st gen can accept a microphone, but I am unsure. -
My friend has this ipod touch 4gen and she no longer has the laptop itunes was on. So she sent me on a mission to reset the ipod she has now forgotten the password to. When i plug it into my computer it says "itunes cannot connect while device is locked. please unlock" or something like that. uhm... only problem is the reason why im plugging it in is to RESET THE **** THING BECAUSE SHE FORGOT THE PASSWORD. im obviously frustrated. So seriously, there has to be some way to get this thing to reset without putting in the password that no one knows into it. Help? im not a computer tech in the first place.
You have to restore it.
If you cannot then:
iOS: Unable to update or restore -
Does anyone know how to restet an ipod after you forgot your password for it but not using the computer you set it up on?
1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.

ITunes won't sync apps to iPod Touch(never used the iPod with iTunes before)
So,I have an iPod Touch 4g on 5.1.1,and when i try to sync apps,iTunes just says "Preparing apps to sync" and after 1 second it disseapear.I use m y other 6.1.3 iPod Touch with that iTunes, and I never used to 5.1.1 one before,so is that what is causing the issue?
Oh and, they both have been signed in with diffirent Apple ID's on their App Store apps,so is this the problem?
iPod Touch 4g iOS 5.1.1,iTunes 11.0.4.4Have you updated iTunes?
-
I have changed my appleID and password through my laptop. I have then changed them in my iPod touch settings in "iTunes & App stores" When I try to update my apps it fails because it wishes to continue to use the previous ID. What do I have to do to make it accept the new ID?
Also
If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account. -
We had an iPod Touch stolen recently but were fortunate enough to recover it! Locator DOES work. We are trying to restore setting but all the restored music it grayed out! I can't figure out why or how to restore it. Any suggestions?
That happens sometimes:
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
