Help! I just restored my iphone 3gs and lost 1 month of work photos and contacts. Please help me get them back!
How old was the backup? If you restored from a one-month-old backup, then yes, one month's data would be missing and cannot be restored unless you have a newer backup.

Contacts are NOT part of the iTunes backup. If you had read the User Guide when you got your phone, you would have learned that Apple recommends you synch your contacts for safekeeping to your computer (Outlook, Address Book) or a cloud service. Using the phone as your only source of your contacts is foolish as the phone can easily be lost, damaged, stolen, or the data become corrupt.
If you've been using your phone as strongly recommended, your contacts are safe and sound on your computer or cloud service ready to be synched back to your phone. Of course, you should be backing up your computer regularly as well.
If you haven't been doing this, your contacts are likely gone. -

It started by not turning on and it still does not unless plugged in. Then once it displayed a colorless grey screen that said "no service" and the battery symbol said 100 %. After resetting the iPhone it now is recognized as an iPhone in recovery mode.sounds like it's time to bring your phone in for evaluation

To expand on Rudegar's comment, often, updating a jailbroken or hacked phone will permanently brick the phone.
If your phone was jailbroken or hacked to unlock it, it is now most likely completely useless. -

I have updated my iPhone to iOS6.1.3 today and lost all my photos and some data(messageies) I have tried iTunes back up but still not success, please help.
If your messages and photos weren't part of your backup, then they're gone.
Certainly you weren't foolish enough to update the iOS on your phone before importing your photos off your phone for safe keeping on your computer like you would do with any digital camera, were you? -

No need for the caps.
If iTunes prompts you to restore your phone, then that is your only choice. Just follow the instructions iTunes gives you.
If its not turning on, hold down the power and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears. Then you will be asked to restore your phone in iTunes. -
I have accidentally retored my phone back to factory settings and lost my contact list, photos and all. I have retrieved my apps via itunes but is there any way to reverse this so I can get my photos and contact list back?

All contacts on your iPhone should be available on your computer. Not a good idea to depend on an iPhone or any cell phone alone for such important data. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
Contacts and photos/videos in the Camera Roll should be included with your iPhone's backup which should have been created or updated by iTunes as the first step during the restore process - unless you declined the option.
If you declined the option, the data is gone. If not, restore your iPhone again from the backup that was created or updated before the previous restore. -

I'm starting to serihously think this phone has been jailbroken... I've got a senior technical support advisor at Apple who is working on the case. He has gone through everything he can possibly think of, but won't take "no" for an answer.
At the moment, he has logged everything with the Engineering Department, who is going to look into it further using the IMEI number and see what they come up with. If worse comes to worse, Apple will apparently replace the phone for a fee. The problem is that it is 800+ days out of warranty...
Anyway, we'll see how we go. If anybody has got any ideas about this, please continue to provide answers. I appreciate all responses -

Just restored my iPhone 5 from iCloud. My wife and I have always shared one iCloud ID. But since my restore, when a call comes in, it rings on both my phone and hers. How can I make this stop? We had it all set up fine before the restore, and there was a trick to it in the settings. I've noticed that since my restore, her phone has picked up what looks like the symbol of a phone in the upper right corner of the display, right next to the Bluetooth symbol.

It sounds like your iPhones may be using a new feature in iOS 8 called Continuity. The following article and information explains how to set up this feature for phone calls. You can review the information on the setup to reverse this effect. My suggestion would be to turn off FaceTime on one of the devices.
Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity
Phone calls
With Continuity, you can make and receive cellular phone calls from your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac when your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network.
To make and receive phone calls, here's what you need:
Sign in to the same iCloud account on all your devices, including your Mac.
Your iPhone and your iPad or iPod touch need to use iOS 8 or later. Your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
All devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
All devices must be signed in to FaceTime using the same iCloud account. This means any device that shares your Apple ID will get your phone calls. Look below for instructions on how to turn off iPhone cellular calls.
Wi-Fi Calling needs to be off. Go to Settings > Phone. If you see Wi-Fi Calling, turn it off.

i just restored my iphone 3gs for an update and when i turned it on nothing was on it just my contacts . My music is all in my library on the computer but it won't sync onto the phone , why wont it sync ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I need help now !
If your music won't sync to your phone, confirm the following:
- On the summary tab of your iTunes sync settings you have checked "Sync only checked songs and videos"
- In your music library you have checked all the songs you want to sync to your phone
- There are no exclamation points next to any of the songs you want to sync to your phone
- You have authorized your computer for all Apple IDs for purchased music you want to sync to your phone (in Store>Authorize This Computer)
- You have checked "Sync Music" on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings
When everything looks correct, sync your phone. -
i had recently followed orders to restore my iPhone 3gs (iOS 6.1) from a question on apple support. However it was working fine before that, it's just that my phone didn't have signal. So it said to restore my iPhone and now it says that the Activation server is temporarily unavailable and when i plugged it into my mac, it said that i ddn't have a sim card installed. What can I do to fix this besides bring it to the store? it also bugs me because this answer was supposed to work but it just messed my phone up even more. This has already happened once and i had to take it to the store. What should I do to fix this? Thank you so much for all answers. i really appreciate.
