I just updated to IOS 8.2 and it won't recognize my thumb print and I forgot my passcode. What do I do?
Great, I knew I shouldn't have updated right away. Now post update my phone is not reading my thumbprint and just wants me to manually enter my passcode, and I don't remember it. What do I do to recover the passcode?
There is no recovery of passcode, you will need to restore your phone as new to remove the passcode.

I have just updated to IOS 7.04 and my mail, calendar and notes are now blank. How do I get it back?
it sounds like you were using iCloud. Go under Settings > iCloud and make sure the switch for Notes is ON (green side showing). If it's already on, turn it off, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on. Your notes should sync up.

I just updated to ios 6.1 and now my cellular data is not working
UPDATE: Ok, I just got back from the Apple store and I've performed a full restore. The good news is that the restore did allow cellular data to work again, restoring as new and restoring an iCloud backup both worked fine. I also tried everything Apple suggests on the http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3780 an only restoring had any effect. Even though that worked for me, I went Ahead and went to the Apple store because this problem had already occurred with me, but only intermittently (requiring frequent resets); the 6.1 update seemed to just make it more 'permanent' so to speak. after the tech tested it with a known-good SIM compared to a new iphone 5, he observed the same stalled cellular data, so my iPhone was swapped out. Hope this helps.

My ipad2 (2 years old) will not turn on at all, with home key, or power on key, or both at same time. I just updated to 7.0.4 and there is a passcode, but my screen is blank and I can't turn it on.
Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created. -

I just updated to ios 7 but now facebook won't open on my phone. There is a blue dot beside the Facebook icon on my phone. Suggestions?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Just updated to iOS 8, iMessage and FaceTime not activating?
I own an iPhone 4s and recently updated my phone to iOS 8. Before, I was able to freely iMessage and FaceTime people without any problems. After updating, I am now not able to activate my iMessage or FaceTime at all. When turning on the iMessage, it always returns to the "Unable to Activate, turn on iMessage to try again." I have tried everything I could find to get this to work yet none of them are specifically for iOS 8 and they are not working. I have even restored my phone, reset the network settings, and many other supposed "solutions" due to my desperation. I just logged out of my Apple ID for iMessage and now it is simply stuck on the "Waiting for Activation" Advice?
go to settings, general, reset, reset all settings. this causes the phone to reset and finishes installing certain iOS 8 features and should fix any glitches you're having. i have not met someone yet where this did not work.

Just updated to ios 7.1 and wanted to go back to ios 7.0.6
for some reason I didn't like the way ios 7.1 works specially to the battery life BUT when I try to restore am getting 3194 error and when I try the hosts fix am getting 3004.
please helpMany people have discovered that doing a reset of all settings will improve the battery use problem. Use the Settings app.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will not result in data loss but you will have to enter all passwords again.
The update to iOS 7.1 seems to have turned on some things that the user may have not had on before. Go through your Settings carefully turning off anything that is not needed or wanted. Also check screen brightness as that may be turned up to the max as well. -
I just updated to iOS 6.1 and my iPad 3 is stuck in recovery mode???
After receiving the prompt to update my software on my iPad 3 Retina, I plugged the iPad into the charger and began the software update. A few seconds later, everything went black and the plug into iTunes icons appeared. I think this is called the recovery mode screen.
I tried plugging into iTunes on my iMac, but it wants me to restore the ipad and I will lost all of my apps and content. What the **** is going on here???
Why cant Apple make a **** software update that JUST WORKS???
Can anyone please help...Its absolutely imperative you make new backups of your data before updating any software for the above reasons, alone.
You will nomt looseany of your purchased content fomr the itunes/app stores though. You can redownload them directly on the device after restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
If a recent backup contains the data you want, just restore from said backup.
Ultimatley, things can go bad, its all human created afterall. Next time, take the time to cover yourself. -
i updated my phone and have lost all my contacts i have restored and all my apps are back but no contacts! help!
What application were you syncing your contact to before you updated? Check the settings on the info tab and sync them back.
If you were NOT syncing them to an application (Outlook or Windows Address Book on a PC, Address Book on a Mac), you can try forcing a restore from your backup again. If they don't come back, they are most likely gone. -
***! Just updated to IOS 7.03 and iphoto looks like crap!
When will Apple quit worsening their software with bad updates? Photo in IOS 7 looks imbarassingly ridiculous. Not they've even
chopped down iphote without asking for permission. Apple's going in a bad, bad direction.About all you can do here is send Apple your feedback:

Can someone tell me how to fix this problem before I use up all my data?
If you can't connect to home wi fi, or any wi fi, go into the RESET area of your SETTINGS and choose RESET NETWORK CONNECTIONS. Turn the phone off and back on and you should be okay. It may take more than one try. Good luck.
