I just upgraded to Firefox 5.0.1 and since the "lock" icon never appears when accessing secure websites, where should I look for it?

I just recently upgraded to Firefox 5.0.1 and now the "lock" icon doesn't appear anywhere (I can find) when accessing secure websites. I haven't seen it once. It used to appear in the lower right corner of the screen. I also have Norton Internet Security.

Padlock is no longer part of Firefox; it was removed beginning in Firefox 4. The padlock shows that there is a secure connection but does not supply additional information. You could have made a typographical error and still have been connected to a secure connection. The padlock was replaced in Firefox 3 with the Site Identity Button. Familiarize yourself with the Site Identity Button at the left end of the Location Bar:

Just upgraded to firefox 3.6.12 and i am sorry. the new browser version keeps crashing! seems to especially dislike Netzero, but crashes on other sites also. Gmail seems to be stable.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

I just upgraded to Firefox 17.0.1 and now I am unable to entered anything into text fields.

After upgrading to Firefox 17.0.1 text cannot be entered in either the URL bar, the search bar, or any text boxes/input fields/forms on webpages. When the text field is clicked the cursor is positioned properly and blinks but typing generates no text.

Just upgraded to Firefox 4 Beta 11 and Sync no longer works

tested on Windows XP SP3.
After updating to Beta 11 Sync stopped working. Tried to reset account and now the Sync does nothing when I try and either Create a new account or Connect to existing account

We have just upgraded to Firefox 5 at work and I no longer have a new tab thingy on the end of my tab list. I now have to go to file and choose new tab. I would love my wee plus at the end of my tabs back. I use lots of tabs!

I thought it might be due to having colourful tabs so have disabled that but it made no difference. I prefer having my tabs under the bookmark toolbar

You can find the New Tab button showing as a '+' on the Tab bar. 
You can open the Customize window and drag the New Tab button that shows as a plus sign (+) from the Tab bar on another toolbar and it will become a regular toolbar button like the New Tab button that you have in Firefox 3 versions. 
If you can't find the new tab button then click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window. 
If you want the New Tab button at the far right end of the Tab bar then place a flexible to the left of it.

I upgraded to Firefox 13.0.1 and it keeps locking up when I launch it on my Windows 7 machine.

Firefox is slow to load and once it loads my home page it just locks up. I can't click on anything, it just sits there. I have to use the task manager to quit it and restart my computer before I can get it to reload but the problems just repeats itself.

I started it in safe mode with add of my add-ons disabled and it made no difference.

I'm running Firefox 7.0.1 and since the September 30 security update I can no longer unzip zipped files unless I reboot my computer first or run it in Safe Mode. Can anyone help me roll Firefox back to before the update?

I regularly download zipped files from Survey Monkey. Since the latest security update, the zipped files download to my computer, but when I try and unzip them I get a message telling me the file is in use by another application. If I reboot, I can unzip the file, or if I'm in Safe Mode when I download the file it unzips fine.
I have tried three different unzip apps and all have the same trouble. Everything was working well after the September 5 update.
I'm running Windows XP with McAfee antivirus, Spybot, Ad-Aware and Malbytes Anti-malware. All are up to date.

Firefox updated automatically yesterday and since then, Mozilla Crash Reporter appears every time I try to open Firefox.

"default dialog button" (where do you find this?)
"mouse middle-click button" (I have a wheel)
"Global default" I don't know what that is, so, apparently, it doesn't apply to me.
"IntelliMouse" I don't have this either, just an old, dumb "Dell mouse" ;-)
"dialog box" is that what I'm hoping the cursor will be moved to? If so, how do I get it to move there on it's own? What's the purpose of "Snap to" if I have to move the cursor there myself?
