Well another topic ragarding the problem the Cas Latency
I bought a 2Gb Kit 800 Mhz 4-4-4-12 (TeamGroup)
If i let everything auto as it has been said it defaults to 533
Then I go to Cell Menu and set them at 800 Mhz..Ram Voltage 2.0 V & SPD Auto
The timings are no way near the factory settings
Then as i have seen in other thread u set Cas 4 u get 3....u set Cas 5 u get 5
I was probably one of the few who dared to flash to the latest 1.5b3 but no solution
I know that this issue has being address a lot of times but guess what .... I really Don't Care i just want i have paid for
When i went to see the Product Page of 965 Platinum along with the TomsHardware award i didn't saw any notification that this board has problem with timings and the BIOS cannot handle correctly Ram sticks
I am not asking for something more that is advertised.....hey i am not overclocking so u cannot blame me for something out of specs .... MSI made and advertised a motherboard ..... if it has trouble to do just the basics then i think someone has to pay for this
PS because i have assembled other systems form other brands this strange problem with timings to my knowledge its unique and the ram modules although they are not overclocking monsters they are decent sticks and all the test show that they work to the correct timings even with low than the specs Voltage

DVD-RW NEC 4571A (Also known as the Tornado.....just try to play a DVD and u get the point)
I bit sceptic considering the fact that when CAS is set to 4 ->3 the system is unstable.
And to tell the truth it has nothing to do with performance but to me it has to do with proper treatment of customers.
We didn't found this Mobo somewhere in the street,nobody came and said "here you are a nice free motherboard" .
I paid it as probably anyone else and me and my family had to sacrifice something else in order to buy this motherboard and all the other components of my system..... so is it too much to ask a proper BIOS that will take care of problems.
As i have said i am asking for something outside specs i just ask for it should be delivered and considering that this Mobo has being on the market for almost a year i think it is time to stop forgiving an start asking......

Pages tells me I need to upgrade to 5.0 to open documents from iCloud, but the mac app store says its already installed and won't let me upgrade. when I check the version of pages I am running it says 4.3. I just want to be able to open documents on my mac that were created on my iPad. How can i get Pages 5.0?
Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You already have got Pages 5.0, but you still have got Pages 4.3, so Pages 4.3 is being opened instead of the newest version, being this the reason why you get a message telling you to update Pages to the most recent version.
If you don't need the old version, open a Finder window, choose Applications in the sidebar and delete the old Pages icon or move it to an external drive. I don't recommend you to do this, as users are complaining about the lack of features of the new version.
Instead, what you can do is to put the new Pages icon in the Dock by dragging it from the Finder window to the Dock, so you can open the new Pages version from the Dock and you can open all your documents with it after opening the application -
I have brought a 17'' MacBook Pro 2.5ghz core 2 duo 2gb. Model A1261. It seems I can upgrade to either 8gb or 16gb ram! But since It's 2006'ish, I just want some advice on the best ram that would work for a good price. Thanks :)

Based on the information that you have supplied, you have a Early or Late 2008 MBP. Maximum RAM that it will accept is 6 GB with the following specifications: 200-pin PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM.
The best sources for Mac compatible RAM are OWC and Crucial.

I need to delete all my photos off my iphone because I have run out of local storage. I have synced with my Mac but also wanted online backup. Are all my photos from the camera roll uploaded to iCloud? I just want to make sure I can retrieve them after I erase from the phone and in case my Mac crashes.
Import photos through iPhoto. (You will prompt to delete from iPhone when import competes).
Backup your Mac. (At least the iPhoto Library)
Backup to iTunes.
Backup to iCloud. (Check in Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup>Manage Storage>your device name>Camera Roll ON). -

70 hours... no, it's not normal but it can't hurt your Mac to be running for that amount of time.

I have Os Lion on my mac book pro, im not a fan of this because i cant run many games, i have the disk for snow leopard my machine came with but i get a error saying "unable to unmount disc" when i try erase my hard drive i just want OS SL back any help?
many thanks Carl.You must boot from another drive in order to erase the system drive.
Try starting up with Snow Leopard DVD inserted and C depress. That should get you booted from the DVD. Then start Disk Utitlity from DVD and erase the disk then you should be able to install Snow Leopard.
Remember that everything will be removed from the disk when you erase it and install Snow Leopard so backup first.

Can't upgrade QT player preinstalled, so downloaded QT Player 7 and purchased QTPlayer 7 Pro registration code. Can not get it to upgrade. Called Apple 2x. To which fix do you refer? Activatng QT 7 Pro or converting the files? Even with QT 7 Pro activated you may need to modify your QT codec component configuration depending on the file type and compression formats used to encode your "old movies." There may be many different problems here with each having one or more "fixes." Please try to be more specific regarding your questions. Converting a muxed VOB MPEG2/AC3 file would be very different different from converting an AVI DivX5/MP3 file depending on which application you are attempting to use. -

Photoshop CC is not cloud based. It is installed from the cloud, but stays and runs on your computer. Where your files are stored as well.
For a beginner, you may be better off getting photoshop Elements as it hold your hand a bit to help you. Where as photoshop CC does have a steep learning curve since yes it is for pro's as well as those that want to take the time to learn it. -
I just wanted to chime in here on the Synaptics Touchpad issues...
I have a Toshiba L305D-S5934 Laptop with an AMD Turion X2 Dual Core Processor, it has a Synaptics touchpad as do most laptops these days and I have run into the following problems: I am running Windows 7 RC Build 7100 (an official download not a torrent download) and my Synaptics Touchpad shows up as a PS2 compatable mouse in device manager. If I download the drivers that come through Windows Update they seem to work fine untill I reboot my system, at reboot just after the Windows 7 splash screen, she blue screens with a memory dump going to somewhere and then does an automatic restart, if I attempt to start windows normally after the restart she bluescreens again with the same results, and this will go on time and time again until I either go into safe mode and remove the Synaptics driver or let startup repair do its thing or do a system restore, all of which leaves me with a Synaptics Touchpad with erattic behavior, that loses its scrolling functionality, and is hypersensitive almost to the point that I can't type much of anything without the cursor jumping around all over the place and relocating like it has a mind of its own. Now Toshiba has something called Toshiba's Value Added Package (not much value there for 64 bit systems it seems this thing was a pain in Vista x64 and it is more of a pain in Windows 7 x64) I will not install the Value added Package until I am convinced t hat Toshiba or whoever makes it gives a rat's rear-end about 64 bit systems and Windows 7 the last time I tried to install it gave all kinds of problems and produced some blue screens of its own I believe. The Value Added Package however includes Toshiba's Flash Cards Utility that makes the Fn key work and gives access to disabling the Synaptics touchpad (you can do this in the driver as well, but when the driver is installed well she bluescreens except in safe mode) The Synaptics driver seems to do okay in safe mode so that could mean that another driver is causing the conflict but something is not wanting to lay nice with the Synaptics driver. I must note however that the Synaptics driver worked just fine in Windows Vista x64. Also I have downloaded the driver from Toshiba's site, the 64 bit Synaptics driver from the Synaptic's site and a couple of others, the one that came closeest to working the best was a version 12.something for HP laptops but the option to disable the touchpad wasn't in the driver. I usually use a mouse with my laptop but I use the touchpad when I take it places with me sometimes, it would be nice to have full functionality of both mouse and touchpad and to be able to disable the touchpad when an external pointing device is attached the way I could in Vista but right now I would settle to just be able to disable the touchpad until this is resolved so I can use the laptop without the cursor jumping all over the place and seemingly having a mind of it's own. As a side note I am very careful about allowing Windows Update to install any updates that it wants at this poing, more than once it has installed things that gave me bluescreens at reboot most notably the Toshiba Value Added Package and the Synaptics driver and maybe an Atheros Wireless driver but it does not yet seem to have the best interests of my PC at heart. On the other hand I have the 32 bit version installed on a Desktop PC with an old Athlon XP 2000+ and 2 GB of Ram it runs wonderfully nearly as well as Windows XP but there is no Synaptics touchpad on the desktop of course, and no Toshiba Value Added Package.
CharlesI have had a similar problem, windows update does NOT update the synaptics touchpad. I have a Toshiba Windows 7 and I did everything that was told by man and beast.
Finally, I went to control panel again, uninstalled synaptics and had to use the a program called Driver Update. This program installed my Realtek Audio even though this was working apparently the two work together. It SUCKS that you have to pay
to install security programs that run your programs but this was the only thing that worked for me and I went through months of not having a touchpad.

Probably other people have a same problem since the new version updated. So much times in a day just freezout Firefox and than I have to restart. Even doesn't matter how much page I have opened. Sometimes 4-6 somtimes 10-12, but come on this is the NEW FAST AND GREAT version that's shouldn't be a problem for this! Than if I stop to send this firefox and restart again, I everytime waiting so long 2-4 minute 'cause allways re open this new tab with How to use new firefox... or something else! I don't want to learn anymore! I just want to have one firefox wich can be working day by day without problems and I can use my favorit plug ins and I don't mind anymore how I can use this newest version! Please don't change every month than we have a lot of problems! First waiting for the REALLY GOOD VERSION WICH DON'T HAVE ANY PROBLEM AND JUST THAN UP DATE FOR US!!!

A 2003 iMac cannot support Snow Leopard 10.6; you'd need an Intel processor and that cannot be retrofitted to your Mac. What does "About this Mac" in your Apple menu say for your processor speed? What does it say about how much RAM you have?
If the processor is 1ghz or faster, you can run OS 10.5; otherwise, you are maxed out at 10.4.11.
Also, are you running any commercial ("pay for") anti-virus or security software? They are notorious for slowing most Macs to a fraction of their speed potential.
A too-full hard drive can drag down performance, especially if you don't have a lot of physical RAM installed. If you single-click your hard drive icon and then do command i, you'll see the disk usage. Looks like this:
The value for "Used" should be no more than about 90 percent of "Capacity." In the example image, that drive has about 34 percent of its space used and 66 percent free--more than enough. Please post what you see for your Capacity and Used numbers
There are a few more things we might check but this is a good start.

Silverlight fails to install on Vista - just want to watch netflix again
I just want to watch Netflix and now I can't because Silverlight tells me that "Your operating system does not support the 64-bit version of Silverlight." But according to Microsoft's compatibility page I should have no problem installed the update
on Vista. Any insight would be great. Was going to uninstall and attempt to reinstall but the "view video on how to uninstall" on the website also doesn't work. So frustrating.
Am I missing something here?

Thanks.I had to completely rebuild my system a couple of months ago (Vista Ultimate x64) and Silverlight installed with no hassles at all. But Netflix recommended I upgrade Silverlight so I tried to and the install failed with nonsensical errors. Also, my previous
install is now trashed.
I downloaded the installer automatically, saved it and ran it from the hard drive, but received the false error that I was not running an x64 system.
Out of curiosity I I tried running the installer under IE x64 and got the warning that Silverlight x64 does not work with IE x64. This is very strange considering that Silverlight 64 supposedly works fine with Firefox, if you can get it to install. Or so
I am told.

I wound up reinstalling the version from last January, but I cannot tell if it is 32- or 64-bit. The Netflix stream I had selected just started running. Is there any way to sell what bit version of Silverlight you are using? I am successfully running Silverlight

I have had nothing but grief since I upgraded to 4. It is hateful. I can't print anything. If I highlight something from a website or my email and tell the printer to just print the selection, it doesn't print. It wants me to save the the file and they all have a .tif extension and nothing will print. I have uninstalled 4 and gone back to 3.6 and the problem is still there. If I highlight the desired selection and copy it to Word 2003, it will print what I want, but I can't print anything from the browser itself. That is the only problem I'm aware of so far. I upgraded about a week ago at most, maybe less than that. I'm so sorry I did. Why can't I print anything? I don't want my selection to be a file, I just want it to print!
Thank you, but it didn't work. My printer stays on away, independently of the PC. I can print from Chrome and IE7 with no problem but not Firefox. The .tif extension refers to a tagged image something. I went looking around in the control panel and I found that Microsoft Office has it's own Access Snapshot Viewer. My company installed Office 2003 on my PC but I only use Word in my work. This snapshot viewer was listed in the control panel under Printers and Faxes. It was not the default anything but for some reason, Firefox 4 installation must have kicked it into gear. I've had the Office software for several months with not one problem. I have Firefox4 for less than a week and everything becomes difficult. I deleted the Office snapshot viewer (hope I don't get fired for it) so my little HP printer is the only one listed and now things seem to be working okay. I have FF 3.6 back up and running. I didn't lose any data and I hope the support and security updates stay available for a long time because it seems like there are plenty of people who aren't in love with FF4. Thank you so much anyway for your help.
