Yes, and you can turn wi-fi access on after enabling airplane mode if you want or need internet access via an available wi-fi network.

I'm using a Mac. I "upgraded" to LR5 from LR4. I do not want to be a member of the "Creative Cloud". I just want to use the software I purchased, specifically to upload to my SmugMug account. It sounds like you have a credit card saved to your Apple ID payment information and you would like it to be removed from the account and set the payment method to None. You should be able to do this with the following article:

Erased all content on 3G but now won't sync with iTunes. Error states, "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started." I don't want phone service on this old 3G. Just want to use it as an iTouch. Any suggestions?

If I buy an iPhone 4S (the unlocked and contract-free version), do I need to add a microSIM card if I just want to use it as, essentially, an iPod Touch? I'll probably get a microSIM card eventually, but I just need the wi-fi based technology now. Anyone know?
It will not do anything (other than call 911) until you activate it with a microSIM. Look into an iPod Touch instead.

I did my iPad2 update thru iTunes on my iMac and it was sucking the iMacs memory very low during the update. Safari froze before loading the first web page and I did a hard boot and went fishing as I saw where it was going to take a long time to recover. When I tried again it wasn't quite right and then did one more hard boot and then did a Reset by going to General-Reset-"Reset all Settings" and it works real well now without loosing any data and in-home wi-fi clocks at 17Mbps download. Probably like most of you I’m sticking with OSX 10.9.5 Mavericks as it gets the job done very nicely and don’t need all that extra fancy stuff that probably will slow things down. -
What is the best way to configure my time capsule if I just want to use it for storage?
I have a time capsule that I just want to use as backup storage - I don't need it for accessing the internet. What is the best way to set it up? I just tried and it seems to override my normal internet WLAN, which isn't what I want. If I re-insate the existing WLAN, presumably the backup won't happen automatically on the time capsule. Any insights very welcome!!
DaveTo work as a backup location the TC has to be part of the existing network.
The best way to achieve that is to plug the TC into the existing modem router and put it in bridge mode.
Apple lately have tried to force people to use the TC as the main router.. and the setup via airport utility pushes you in that direction but it is wrong.
You bridge it and use it as storage.. that is fine.. Simply turn off the wireless if you prefer to use the existing wireless, although for Macs the TC will often work better and you can pick up internet through it at the same time.
With access by wireless you cannot have two separate networks. If you try to do that, then you will have one connection with internet and no backup.. and another connection for backup with no internet and be forced to swap between the two.. do not do this!!
You can even setup wireless as roaming.. so same name and security and password as your existing modem router.. and allow the computer to determine which is the best signal to join. -

I thought I was computer savvy until now.
I just want to use Time Capsule as a wireless hard drive. I do not want to connect my Internet to it whatsoever. I realize this would involve disconnecting from Time Capsule and reconnecting to my Internet every time.
The settings for Time Capsule are just mind-boggling.
Is there any easy way to set it up as a password-protected wireless hard drive?

Where do you have the Ethernet cable placed on the Time Capsule. Is it the WAN port or one of the network ports?
If you are attempting to set-up the Time Capsule as your wireless router, it will need to be connected to the wired modem from your service provider through the WAN port for configuration. The Time capsule should then appear as a configurable Airport device.
To start, turn off your cable or DSL modem and the Time Capsule. Turn them both back on with the Time capsule connected to the wired modem via of the WAN port so the modem can grab the TC's MAC address. -
I have an IPhone 6 I'm going on a cruise and I won't be making calls or using data I'm just wanting to use the camera ...is there something I can do to to turn these off?
All you need to do is turn on Airplane Mode. It's in the settings, or the easier way is to swipe up from the bottom to open the Control Center and turn on Airplane Mode there. It's the first button at the top, with the airplane icon.
When you turn on Airplane Mode all of your data is shut off. You can optionally turn on just Bluetooth and Wifi if you want; for example, if you wanted to use the cruise ship wifi without turning on your phone radio, or if you wanted to use a Bluetooth speaker or keyboard. But if you don't need all that just turn on Airplane Mode and leave Bluetooth and Wifi off. -
We have two iTunes accounts we don't want to use our old account cause the password doesn't work how do we just use our new account? The problem is when we update apps it will ask for our password to our old account and when we go to down load an app we have had before it wants to go thru our old account now do we only use new account?

Besides signing out of the account, you will need to delete the apps on the device that were purchased under that ID. -
Help! I have an iPod Touch 5th generation with iOS 8.1 that I just purchased two days ago. I am of the early 70's generation and this is all new to me. I have wifi at home because i have a laptop. I want to use my iPod mainly for creating playlists and then playing it through my stereo. When I turn my iPod on, it automatically connects to the internet. How can I control when I connect to the internet? I am not a kid wanting to use all the "gadgets" please help me so I don't feel that I've totally wasted all of this money on this purchase! Hey Evawantsin, turning off Wi-Fi as suggested by Illaass will do the trick, but how are you connecting to your stereo? If it uses Wi-Fi, then you need to turn the Wi-Fi on for music sessions. If through Bluetooth your fine, or do you use a physical connection like a dock, USB to lighting cable or do you just plug in through the headphone port with a patch cable? Also, you can down load the iPod Touch Users Guide for iOS 8 for free from iTunes. It will answer most questions, or at least point you in a direction. Hope this helps. Good luck, Cheers.

It's frustrating!I don't think that there is a function if Firefox for backing-up settings but you could note them all down if you're really serious about wanting to back it up.
Also, you could try using an add-on called [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/backupfox/?src=api BackupFox] , which backs-up your bookmarks and/or history as they change.

I have one apple id on my iPad and a second apple id on my iPhone and laptop. I want to use one apple id for everything. I tried wiping my iPad and synching it with my laptop. The old apple id still remains on my iPad. I can't get rid of it. Help.
On the iPad open Settings/iCloud and delete the account using the button at the bottom. Once deleted log in using the other account. For iTunes Stores use Settings/iTunes & Apps Stores, tapp on the Apple ID at the top then sign out. Once done sign in using the other account. Once you are happy with the changes plug your iPad into your computer to update the backup.

If you are a current ATT customer, you wont pay an activation fee for the iPhone. But you will have to add the iPhone data plan to your bill. I don't know what your paying now, but this may, or maynot affect your overall bill. I do know, that you will loose your corperate discount though.
