I keep being asked to install flash player even though it is installed

I have deleted it and reloaded it and am still being asked to get the latest version. The box that showed say it is installed is empty. Not sure what to do

  • My computer keeps telling me to download Flash Player even though I already have.

Why does my computer keep telling me to download the latest version of Flash Player even though I have downloaded it multiple times.  Am I forgetting to do something?

Its seems to be a browser specific issue. Try a different browser like chrome or firefox, it should work.
For fixing IE or Safari, lets follow below suggestions :
Run the Flash Player Uninstaller as applicable for your machine(i.e.Windows or MAC) and remove flash player.
    For MAC : http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html
    For Windows : http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
    Restart the machine.
    Download and Re-install Flash Player.
    Restart the browser and check.

  • Keep being asked to install Java Runtime V6

I keep being asked to install Java Runtime V6 in order to run CS5Service Manager. I moved on from CS5 a long time ago via CS6 to CC. I have only been receiving this message since upgrading to OSX Mavericks. I thought I had deleted everthing to do with CS5 ages ago and neither Spotlight nor Clean My Mac can find anything else to remove.
    Any suggestions folks?
    Wilson

If you deleted CS5 you probably left pieces in various places.  Always uninstall rather than delete software.

  • I cannot install flash player even though I am logged in as the administrator.

I am running Windows 7 and IE9, I think. The error is always that I do not have sufficient privilages to install the flash player, even though I am logged on as the administrator. I have tried running the flash download as administrator to no avail. Please help.

    Try a clean install: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315

  • When is the non compatibility problem with Google toolbar going to be fixed with Firefox 5 as I am fed up keep being asked to install Firefox 5 when I know that the Google toolbar will not work.

Firefox are already aware that Firefox 5 and Google toolbar won't work together yet I am continually being asked to install Firefox 5, each time I take the 'ask me later' option only to be asked again.
So when is the problem going to be fixed?

Google needs to update the Google Toolbar program for Firefox 5.0.
The Google Toolbar '''7.1.20110512W''' version does work pretty good in Firefox 5.0 by using the Compatibility Reporter extension. But not every feature works 100%.<br />

  • Firefox won't play flash player even though latest version is installed

I can't play videos (eg on BBC website) - I keep being prompted to install Flash. I have uninstalled and then reinstalled Flash several times but to no avail. The "always activate" is selected in the addons page. Also the old version of shockwave is still showing on the listing and I can't delete it.

Looks like you have 2 Flash DLL files for Firefox.
    Shockwave Flash 9.0 r45
    Shockwave Flash 16.0 r0
My advice is to uninstall Flash and install again.
First, grab the Adobe uninstaller from here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
Then download the latest Flash Plugin version from here:
    Select ''Plugin-based browsers''
    https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
Seeing that you are using WinXP you might want to consider using the Extended Support Release - Flash Player 13.0.0.269 - instead of Flash 16.0.0.305 which has many features for Vista and later versions of Windows than WinXP can use. ''Works better for me, and gets far fewer updates.''
Run the Flash uninstaller program, then reboot your PC.
Then install the Plugin version of Flash. So you'll have a clean installation of Flash for Firefox.

  • I'm being told I need to download Flash player even though I have installed the latest version

I'm using a Mac with Mac OS X, Version 10.7.5, with Safari 6.0.2 as my browser. I haven't had any problems with Flash player until today. Now suddenly, when I try to view Flash content, it tells me I need to download/install the latest version of Flash Player. However, I have installed it multiple times. I even uninstalled it and re-installed it, re-started my computer, etc, and it still won't work. What else can I try??

Does this happen with all Flash content?  Do you see the animation and version info when you go to this page?
    Flash Player Version
If not, please go into Safari's preferences dialog, the security tab, and verify that Enable Plug-Ins is checked.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Using Flash player even though YouTube HTML5 video player is enabled

I'm in YouTube HTML5 video player beta program (http://youtube.com/html5), but even with it being enabled, every time I play a YouTube video it's still using Flash player.

try adding '''&html5=True''' to the end of the URL

  • Cannot print from Adobe Flash Player even though there is a print option. IE works fine but not Firefox.

I found a site that uses Adobe Flash Player to show pictures and there is a "Print" selection/icon but when selecting from that the picture does not print, but it does when using Internet Explorer.

Firefox must not be open when the Flash installer is run. Use the following information and instructions.....
There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash:
*an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only
*a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox
*On a Windows system, you should always update both individually.
'''''You do not appear to have the Plugin version for Firefox installed. ''''' If you did, in Add-ons > Plugins you would see "Shockwave Flash ''(version)''". If "Shockwave Flash" is there and is disabled, click the "Enable" button.
Check your Plugins often --> http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
*only the most popular/used Plugins are known by this page
*page will detect only installed, '''''enabled''''' Plugins
    '''<u>Install or update Adobe Flash</u>'''<br />
#'''<u>Using Firefox</u>''', go to the following link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later. Un-check any items on that page that you do not want to download (i.e., "McAfee Security Scan Plus":
#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
#Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
#*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
#*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
    #*The installation is quick.
#Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
#To update/install the ActiveX version for IE '''''only''''', repeat the process, '''<u>but use IE to go to the above website</u>'''.

  • Keep being asked to install this update: 3.6.17 but have tried and it won't install. Is this a legit update?

For the past month I keep getting a pop-up (up to three times a day) asking me to install update 3.6.17. When it first happened I did try to install it but it would not install. Since then I have not attempted to install the update and yet can't figure out a way to keep this annoying pop-up from appearing.

You should just be able to restart if it did not install.

  • Installation of Firefox 3.6.17 does not take effect, I keep being asked to install it (again), At least 5 times so far, and it never shows in the (Mac) Firefox menu "about Mozilla Firefox

I'm running on an iMac, OS 10.5.8, I've lost count on how many times I've been told there's an update for Firefox 3.6.16, I install it. the next time I restart, FF starts up, and I look at the about FF menu, and it shows I'm running 3.6.16. I've never encountered anything like this. What is going on? How do I tell.
    Thanks,
    Judy

  • Trying to download an app but keep getting asked to accept new terms even though I just accepted them and won't stop

    Continuous loop

Rather than a "bug" - it appears to be some bizarre issue with the Apple servers that has been going on for a few days now. Users have had a few different issues with the App Store and a couple of them seem to have been fixed, but now this issue has cropped in the last couple of days.
No matter what we call this - it is not a necessary procedure, it's just fluke thing that needs to be addressed by Apple. This is not normal protocol for downloading apps from the App Store.

  • I have an Iphone 5 and I'm abroad at the moment. My iMessages keep being sent from my phone number even though I took out my SIM card. My question is, will I be charged for them because they are being sent from my phone number and not my email?

This might be a stupid question but I'm quite concerned that my phone bill will be sky high because of it.

    Hi mlemonache,
Here's a blip from the IOS Message support site:
On iPhone, if iMessage is unavailable, the message may be sent as SMS or MMS, depending on content. Carrier messaging rates may apply. You can adjust this behavior in iPhone at Settings > Messages > Send As SMS. Messages sent using iMessage appear in a light blue bubble, while messages sent using SMS or MMS appear in a green bubble.
Here is a link to the site:

    Hope this helps!
