OS 10.7.5, iTunes 11.0.1, and iOS 6.0.2 ... everything is updated, but iTunes won't read iPhone 5 or iPad as devices. Syncing was easy before recent iTunes update. Suggestions?
Are you using the correct cables. iPod cables look similar, but are not, as they are 1.1 USB cables, where your iPhone and iPad require a 2.0 USB cable.
Also, make sure you are not plugging your USB cable into a Hub or keyboard USB port, but one directly on the computer.
You may want to reset the USB ports, by resetting the SMC and PRAM

New computer but Itunes won't transfer all songs.
I know there are other topics but basically my problem is this, my new computer won't sync all of my songs on my iPod. Apparently I'm not authorized to do so. So, I try to authoize my computer with my AOL sign in and it says I need to create an Apple id. So I click continue and it just says that the iTunes store could not process my request and to try again later.
Also, I already have an Apple id to make this post so will I be able to combine it with my AOL name?sorted it out by playing a purchased track which then required authorising. everything else fell into place.

Hi Rebekah...
This problem seemed to have worked itself out... Somewhere amongst these solutions...
1. Reinstall iTunes
2. Restart computer
3. Restart iDevice
It didn't at first, and I thought to myself... "Oh great, another problem which Apple doesn't acknowledge as existing", but don't worry. Give it a couple of restarts, and if all else fails... Create a new Windows Logon and try from there.
It just happens I was in the middle of reformatting my PC and resinstalling Windows 7, so it wasn't so much an issue when I wiped as it worked when I tried it on a fresh system.
Hope something helps... -
When I plug in my iPod Classic, it is visible in My Computer, but iTunes gives an error message saying "The software required for this iPod is not installed corectly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the required software." It started completely randomly and now does it every time. I completely wiped out iTunes and reinstalled it via the intructions from this website, but it is still doing the same thing. Furthermore, when I go to Start, All Programs, the iTunes folder contains no data AND the desktop shortcup does nothing when clicked on. I have to go to Start, Run, and type in itunes.exe in order to run the program. Can anyone tell me what is going on?
Do one or more of the following
> Restart your computer
> Uninstall & Reinstall iTunes
> Reset iDevice (won't erase everything)
> Go to My Computer (windows xp) or Computer (windows vista & 7) and see if iDevice shows
> Restore the iDevice completely (will erase everything)
> Make sure the iTunes and/or iOS firmware is up-to-date.
The ones I cross over is the ones you don't have to do. This should help -
Hello I just downloaded "text me" ap from the itunes store to my desktop computer, but it won't open!! How do I use it? I tried right clicking and double clicking but nothing happens... Please advise.
CorinneIf you have a rescue email address set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address then go to Express Lane and select 'iTunes' from the list of 'products' in the middle of the screen.
Then select 'iTunes Store', and on the next screen select 'Account Management'
Next choose 'iTunes Store Account Security' and fill in that you'd like your security questions/answers reset.
You should get an email reply within, I think, about 24 to 48 hours (and check your Spam folder as well as your Inbox) -

I updated my iTunes as it asked me to and then restarted my computer but iTunes would not open as it said it was corrupted. In addition as I was downloading the new iTunes a PC speed maximizer was downloaded onto my computer and I have no idea what for.

I recently dug out my old 160gb iPod Classic. Every time I connect it to iTunes, the program freezes and/or crashes. My computer recognizes that the iPod is plugged in, (it's accesible under "My Computer") but iTunes doesn't acknowledge it, at all. I've tried every single solution I've seen, and none of them work. I know the Classic is outdated, but my other iPod doesn't have nearly as much room. Can anyone help with this?

i connect my ipod to the computer, but itunes doesnt recognize it therefore i cant add files to my ipod, any solution ? ( the ipod display shows that it is connected )
Try force rebooting it, hold down the power and home button for 10 seconds until the apple boot logo comes up. If that doesn't work, try rebooting your computer.

I have one ipod shuffle synced in itunes on my computer but it won't even recognize a second ipod
Is the second iPod also a shuffle, or is it a "big" iPod? If they are both shuffles, what are the two shuffle types? This document shows the four types of shuffles.
