I keep getting a dialog box that tells me to reboot my computer to complete a previous upgrade, however when I do I keep getting the same dialog box and cannot load firefox. I tried to remove Firefox but I keep getting the same message to reboot.

I was asked to upgrade Firefox using the Yahoo version and that is whne the problem started. I cannot remove Firefox or use it.

First have you got a backup of your data? If not try to get one now while you have some access to the drive. The drive is probably faulty and will need to be replaced, without the backup you risk losing the data.
Have you a bootable external USB drive with Mavericks on it, if so boot from that and try and repair or erase the drive and reinstall Mavericks.
If you don't have Mavericks on an external drive, boot from you Leopard DVD ( I am presumimg your profile is correct) and run Disk Utility from there, you may be able to erase the drive and reload Leopard. You can then install Mavericks. Even if all that works you will most likely need a new drive in the near future.

I can't install Firefox 5. It downloads & starts the wizard. I follow the prompts till it says it needs to restart the computer 'to complete a previous upgrade of firefox' . I say yes and it restarts and there is no sign of firefox and no error message.

The very first time I tried this there was a red message that flashed on the screen too fast to read it. I have Windows 7 and AVG. My son's computer also has Windows 7 and AVG and his upgrade went without a hitch. It deleted my old version of firefox (3.6.12) so now I'm using IE. It is probably because you are not properly closing Firefox. Restarting your system would make sure that Firefox had terminated, but you do not have to do that.
To properly close Firefox on Windows systems, use
:File > Exit or "Firefox:" button > Exit
When you get the message "Firefox is already running" it is too late, and you must force termination of Firefox through the Windows Task Manager before restarting Firefox. Windows 7 has a keyboard shortcut to save you a step "Ctrl+Shift+Esc" then on "Processes" tab, select "firefox.exe" and use the "End Process" button. More thorough would be to right-click on the "firefox.exec" and choose "End Process Tree".
You would find firefox.exe in a Mozilla folder in your program files, but y0u would not want to delete it there, you would need to use the Control Panel which you have already identified and do it from there -- but generally you would not need to do that, and there is nothing in what you have posted to indicate that you should. But if you did do that, then don't let the install start Firefox for you as you would want to use you existing desktop icon or method of starting Firefox, and should decline having Firefox install start Firefox for you. When the install starts then invoke Firefox in your normal manner. This should eliminate problems of creating a new profile rather than using your old profile.

TS2570 i have an intel imac and im getting a grey sceen. I get the flashing question mark folder. iv changed the H.D 2x and tired to install a new os into it but no luck. The mac isnt going into safe mode or anything. help?

Tired 5 keyboards on all Usb ports and a hub and keyboard wont boot to startup or safemode of anything but hub gets power. disc drive wont eject or accept a disc cuz keyboard commands not being sent to computer. Keyboards must be connected directly to the USB port, not through a hub.
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
Do the following:
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install the Combo Updater for the version you prefer from support.apple.com/downloads/.

To fix the freezing when sleeping problem go to System Preferences>Energy Saver and set 'Computer Sleep' to 'Never'. It seems there is a problem for some with Bluetooth failing to wake after sleep. This fixes it 100% for me and many others on here, until Apple issue a software update to address it.
Not sure what to suggest on the internet problem. I assume you are connected and receive and send emails OK.
Edit: To try to troubleshoot the internet issue maybe try turning the Firewall off: System Preferences>Security & Privacy>Firewall tab.

A friend said she downloaded an update to Firefox (a version of 6, I believe) but didn't install the update, but the desktop icon was gone. The only way to launch Firefox was from the Programs folder. When clicking on the Firefox file, a "Setup" pop up window appeared stating "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox. Do you want to reboot now?" Clicking "No" does not launch Firefox and clicking "Yes" reboots the computer, but nothing changes after restart and the same series of events keeps re-occurring. When attempting to remove the program, the same reboot "Setup" pop up appears, and the same non-results as previously described, persisted. I deleted all Firefox files and deleted the update set up .exe files. I again tried to remove the Firefox 3.6.3 program, with the same outcome as the previous attempt(s). I went to the Firefox website and downloaded the updated Firefox 7.0.1 set up .exe file, saved and ran it. When I reached the Setup Wizard page that prompts a "Standard" or "Custom" installation, I clicked on Standard and the same reboot pop up window appeared, again with no change after the reboot. So I have a Program installed (Firefox 3.6.3) with no files, and which can not be removed, an executed update/download .exe for Firefox 7.0.1 that can not be completely installed due to the failure to update by reboot problem. I'm out of ideas on how to try to resolve these problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Try a clean reinstall.
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 7.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version.
* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
* Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

This problem arose when I attempted to upgrade my existing FireFox browser to the new FireFox 7. I clicked through the auto-update, but didn't think that anything changed, as the browser didn't look like the image in the feature explanation image I was viewing. I then tried to download Firefox 7, and when I tried to instal it, this process began.

Trying to gt my computer to move faster i deleted microsoft internet explorer an in order to get my computer to let me on the internet i had to download firefox when i did this i started receiving a message that said Extentsion helper has encountered a problem and needs to close not knowing this came from firefox i tried to delete firefox but kept receiving the messag i have since re-downloaded firefox but can't find extension helper to deactivate it my computer will not let me do anything i need help resolving this please

Can you run Firefox long enough to display the Add-ons page? Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable. (Remove also is available for some extensions, but not the ones that Firefox found in a registry scan or shared folder elsewhere on your system.)
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

If you cannot access the Add-ons page, try starting Firefox in Safe Mode, since that deactivates extensions and hopefully will stop that message from coming up long enough to get to the Add-ons page.

Well, this is embarrassing. We tried to display this Web page, but it's not responding.
Tell Mozilla about this crash so they can fix it.
Or sometimes for the last tab it shows :
Websites show a spinning wheel and never finish loading
Of course other browsers works 'perfectly' onto loading sites.
What can I do. Is this an e10s bug, that I could help to qualify and how?
Also looking for a workaroud. I want to restore my tabs onto a non-e10s window, but really don't figure how to do that. Means, after relaunching FF-nightly, restore my windows and tabs.
