I keep getting a message Mac Keeper wants to make changes ,type in your password. Should I do it?

Remove "MacKeeper" as follows. First, back up all data.
"MacKeeper" has only one useful feature: it deletes itself.
Note: These instructions apply to the version of the product that I downloaded and tested in early 2012. I can't be sure that they apply to other versions.
IMPORTANT: "MacKeeper" has what the developer calls an “encryption” feature. In my tests, I didn't try to verify what this feature really does. If you used it to “encrypt” any of your files, “decrypt” them before you uninstall, or (preferably) restore the files from backups made before they were “encrypted.” As the developer is not trustworthy, you should assume that the "decrypted" files are corrupt unless proven otherwise.
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Applications
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-A. The "MacKeeper" application is in the folder that opens. Quit it if it's running, then drag it to the Trash. You'll be prompted for your login password. Click the Uninstall MacKeeper button in the dialog that appears. All the functional components of the software will be deleted. Reboot.
Do not empty the Trash after dragging the MacKeeper application to it. Let the application delete itself.
Do not try to uninstall by dragging the MacKeeper icon in the Dock or the LaunchPad to the Trash.
Here are some general suggestions. If you want your computer to be usable, don't install crapware, such as “themes,” "haxies," “add-ons,” “toolbars,” “enhancers," “optimizers,” “accelerators,” "boosters," “extenders,” “cleaners,” "doctors," "tune-ups," “defragmenters,” “firewalls,” "barriers," “guardians,” “defenders,” “protectors,” most “plugins,” commercial "virus scanners,” "disk tools," or "utilities." With very few exceptions, this stuff is useless, or worse than useless.
The more actively promoted the product, the more likely it is to be garbage. The most extreme example is the “MacKeeper” scam.
The only software you should install is that which directly enables you to do the things you use a computer for — such as creating, communicating, and playing — and does not modify the way other software works. Never install any third-party software unless you know how to uninstall it.

I keep getting a message that iTunes wants to update to Version 8.somthing.  However, I'm currently running Version 12.0.1.26 on Windows 7.  What gives??  Is there any way to get the update message to leave me alone?

You will need to post the exact message. Sounds like iTunes is picking up either your iPhone wirelessly or it is plugged in and is wanting to update to iOS8.1.1
Do so and it will go away.

    Hello ozne,
as a first step please have a look at these "General infos about the Adobe Account"
    https://www.adobe.com/account.html and http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html.
Did you purchase your product from these firms like Amazon? If yes, this is not a serial number, only a code with which you can request a serial number from Adobe. Please have a look at http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html. (Start here: How did you purchase your product?)
The following part, so I just see at least, ceased to exist on my Adobe website, everything takes place in the link from above. I leave it as an info yet, it might still fit for you. For this purpose, please click your way through to your Adobe Store and find the button "Get Serial Number". Fill in the form and after a while you will get the real serial number.
    Good luck!

  • When I try to drag an item into the trash, I get message that Finder wants to make changes; enter password

When I try to drag anything into the trash the message :  Finder wants to make changes;  enter your password.  But I cannot trash the document/folder, etc.  I can eject a disk/flash drive etc by dragging to the trash.

Choose your Home folder "Get Info" (command-i) and be sure you have "read & write" in the Sharing & Permissions section. Check under "General" section to be sure it isn't locked. If that is correct, launch Applications/Utilities/Terminal and at the prompt copy & paste this command…
    mkdir ~/.Trash
    Press return.
If you get a message that the folder already exists, copy & paste these commands...
    sudo chown $UID ~/ .Trash
    Press return.
Enter your admin password (it will be invisible)
    Press return.Then enter
    chmod u+rwx ~/.Trash
Press return. Log out and back in, or restart.

  • Completer wants to make changes and needs my password

I keep getting a message a is requesting I reenter my password. I s this normal? What is completer?

There should be nothing native to the OS X which would ask for a password
or  other information on a restart, unless accompanied by the traditional login
    box with your user name.
There are adware or marginal products that could be called malware (bad)
that would impose their presence and some items that could have been
downloaded by accident or through some corrupted free software site; of
those some could ask for and gain permission to go through your Mac
and maybe even run in the background to do other nefarious misdeeds.
You could see if startup in SafeBoot allows you access past that the Completer.
Since I don't have a pile of helpful article links on how to resolve various issues
I'd be looking them up one way or another.
There are some helpful items in the site http://thesafemac.com - see Tech Guides
listed  (adware, malware, & performance) plus a link to the adwaremedic page.
Also, Apple support has a helpful page on how to remove adware and other bits:
•Remove unwanted adware that displays pop-up ads and graphics on your Mac - Apple Support
    Hopefully this helps somewhat.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Finder wants to make changes. type your password to allow this

    Hi everyone,
OS Type : Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3
    Application : Finder ?
Context : The Mac is connected to our Active Directory and there are some network shares also connected to the Mac.
Issue : The following message pop-ups  randomly when the user tries to rename/create a folder/file on a mapped disk.
Message : Finder wants to make changes. Types your password to allow this.
I Insist this problem is completly random and to solve that, you need to restart the Mac and then the exact same folder can be renamed,etc...
    Thanks for any suggestions.

Boot to your recovery partition or boot media (hold option while booting).
    Open 'Reset Password' utility
Choose the affected user name from the drop down menu.
In the bottom-right corner, click the 'Reset' button to set your ACL permissions.
    Restart.
Now see if the issue is resolved. Should be.

  • Since upgrading to 10.7.2 to use iCloud, i keep getting a message with ubd wants to use the login keychain, anyone for help to how to get rid of this...

since upgrading to 10.7.2 to use iCloud, i keep getting a window message with ubd wants to use the login keychain, i put the right password but it keeps coming back, anyone for help to how to get rid of this...

This is what I did and it seems to have worked so far. While that little annoying box is up you need to open the Keychain access by:
going to applications -> open utilities folder -> click to open Keychain Access
Now here is the stupid part, you have to continue to press the cancel button on the "ubd wants to use login keychain" box for the kaychain window to open. Once you have keychain access open go to:
the top of your monitor and select "Keychain Access" right next to the little apple logo -> click preferences in the options panel-> the preference box will open now -> click "Reset My Default Keychain" -> another box will pop up that says "Please enter your login password. This password will be used to create your new keychain" (of course this is assuming that you use a login password to access your mac) -> enter your login password and a box shows up that says "created a new empty 'Login' keychain"
After that you should be good to go. This new keychain you created with your login password overides the old keychain. The old keychain is still available in the Keychain's folder but is not being used and therefor can be deleted. All you have to do now is press ok, and your good. If the "ubd wants to use login keychain" box is still there after you reset your keychains just hit cancel and it should be gone for good or you can enter your login password.
Is this a fixall that will work forever? I have no idea but doing this has allowed me to access my network at work and all the servers I need to get to.
Oh and one more thing. You may need to press cancel on the ubd box throughout this entire process, I just gon in the habit of clicking a button hitting cancel on the ubd box and the new window would pop up.
I hope this helps you! Sorry if it's long, I was trying to be as detailed as possible to make it  easier. Let me know how it goes.

  • I keep getting skype messages from men wanting to ...

Every day I get contacted by men wanting to make contact with me.  I find this invasive and want to stop it.  How can I make myself invisible so strangers cannot skype chat me in this way?  It is driving me crazy.  I decline but cannot remove them from view as having contacted me.

You can try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
but ultimately, you may need top contazct Vodephone since: 1) It is an SMS message, and consequently part of its servioce, not Apple's; 2) The messages appear to be from them.

  • I have an IPad and want to download a movie.  I keep getting the message "There is not enough available storage to download your movie.  You can manage your storage in Settings".  I look in the settings and it says I have 5GB available?

I have been trying to download a movie to my IPad.  I have never had trouble before but the last two times I get an error message that says "Cannot Download" There is not enough storage to download your movie.  You can manage your storage in Settings.
When I go to my settings it says I have 5GB remaining storage and 5GB storage used.  I have deleted a lot of my music and games but am still having trouble.  Has anyone experienced this before?

5GB is typically not enough space to download a movie.  Often, movies take from 3 - 5 GB to begin with.  The only option you have is to delete more things from your iPad.  You can remove unused Apps, pictures, music, text message (messages with pictures can take up a lot of space), email messages, books, magazines etc.
