I keep getting a "not responding" alert, followed by a stalling of all functions in Edge Animate. Why is this happening? All other software seems to run well (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc).

Keep getting firefox not responding for about 2 months now Can any one help me figure out why and fix this?

This is a bad hardware error, Baseband Error. Some have reported getting through this error by Restoring iPhone with the SIM Card removed. Try that. Try restoring with different computer. Search Web some more for other thoughts.

Every time I click on something I get "Firefox not responding" I have uninstalled and reinstalled and it is not going away and it is really getting me aggravated.

I had the same problem, on scouring many forums i read a post about "McAfee Script Scan" and how it could cause conflicts.
I went to "Tools",- "Add-ons" which took me to the Add-ons Manager
Then "Extensions" in the left pane,
I scrolled down until i found "McAfee Script Scan" and removed it,
I then re-started Firefox and couldn't belive the difference, it was like going back to when i had BT infinity installed, like a new pc.

Keep getting a "not responding" message. It's getting worse by the day. Nothing seems to work, including resetting.

You can check the Flash player installation folder for multiple Flash player plugins and remove older version(s) of the plugin (NPSWF32) and possibly (re)install the latest Flash player.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

I keep getting "Firefox Not Responding". It is getting really old!!

I am getting really tired of getting a "Firefox Not Responding" while on the internet. I tried resetting Firefox AND Uninstalling and Re-installing. All those did was lose all my favorites for me. It still doesn't respond well.

After a Reset, Firefox should have created a folder on your desktop named Old Firefox Data. You should be able to recover your bookmarks from there once Firefox is running a little better.
To rule out Flash as a potential culprit, could you try one or both of the following:
(1) Disable the Protected Mode feature of the Flash Player plugin.
The following pages provide different ways to do that:

Flash needs to completely unload from memory (restarting Firefox might help) before this would take effect.

To set "Ask to Activate", open the Add-ons page using either:

In the left column, click Plugins. Look for "Shockwave Flash" and change "Always Activate" to "Ask to Activate".

With 3g, I keep getting "server not responding" on my iPad2...what do I do?

at home, where I do not have WIFI, I have been unsuccessful for the last day to get an internet connection via 3G. Getting emails is not a problem, but when I try to access the internet, all I get is "server not responding".....do I contact ATT or is there something else I can try? This problem appeared out of the blue.

If you have a very slow 3 g signal, or worse, a signal so bad that it falls back to 2 g or edge, many servers will time out before you can get the data. There are some apps that will let you test your connection speed, such as speed test.
If you are in a real congested area, or wayyyy out in the sticks, this may be the problem. A good way to test is to goto a known good signal area, like a starbucks, join their wifi, and see if the pages work. Then leave the wifi, but in a known good 3 g area, see if the it is better.

Cannot use Safari or any net based apps. Keep getting "server not responding" any ideas?

when trying to use Safari, or any internet based Apps (ie:facebook,youtube) my daughters Ipad gives me a few min wait, then says " unable to connect, server not responding" . At first I thought it was my Wifi.. nope.. everything else in the house connects just fine. Then I thought that maaaybe I needed to re-login onto my wifi from the Ipad... nope.

Even though other devices are connected to wifi, it still could be that you are not connected. Is the wifi icon at the top of the display illuminated.

Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

I have a 17" MacBook Pro running OS 10.4 and I am tring to iChat with my brother in law. He has a PC with XP service pak 2 and the latest Triton Beta for AIM. If either of us invites we get the message that the other did not respond. We have DSL without firewalls. He's at 256K and I'm at 1024K. Any thoughts would be helpful! Thanks.

iChat 3.1 and above has an option to allow Multiple logins.
This has to selected if you wnat to log on from two computers (or two apps) with the same screen name.
This setting is found in iChat > Preferences > Accounts and selecting the AIm/@mac account in question and then the Account Information tab.
You can only change the setting when iChat is logged out of AIM.
It is also important with iChat 3 that the System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming tab > Streaming speed drop down is set to match your download or to a max of 1.5meg if your connection speed is faster.
iChat should be restarted after this change.

My internet connection is good, so why is Firefox not responding?

This problem can be caused by pages that use Flash media. Here is some standard guidance that addresses the most common reasons for Flash problems in Firefox. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
(1) If you have installed any recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media, make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
(2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
(A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"

I keep getting "Mail Not Responding" and have to force quit

I can't even get to "Mail Doctor" because the spinning beachball starts up instantly. I have to force quit to get it to stop. Mail is working on all my other eight devices but not my primary iMac. What the heck?

What OS version are you running? If 10.8/9 try the below.
Do a backup.
Quit Mail.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Go to Library/Containers/com.apple.mail. Move the folder com.apple.mail to your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the contents.
Re-launch Mail and test. If the problem is solved, recreate any required Mail settings and import any emails you want to save from the folder on the desktop. You can then put the folder in the Trash. If the problem remains, return the folder to where you got it replacing the one that is there.

After installing 10.9.5 I keep getting "Application Not Responding" for iMovie, Preview, Elements 10, Quicktime. Also my external drive showing up as camera on in iMovie. I do not have time machine. All was working well before! Processor 2.5GHz i5

I have a similar problem.
Moreover, as my external drive is split in 2 for (a) regular storage // (b) time machine usage, I can see in the Finder that I can connect to the (a) regular storage part and use it normally (image 1).
And I cannot connect to the backup part in Finder , nor see it in Disk Utility, nor use it in Time Machine (although it's listed in the Time Machine preferences, image 2), as it does not connect (image 3).
Can somebody help?

I keep getting "Page Not Responding" when signing in to eBay with Safari 6.0.1

I have tried clearing ebay cookies and clearing the cache, but I can't seem to get eBay back. However, the eBay toolbar plugin is still working. Any ideas, please? Should I cahnge the proxy settings?
