I keep getting an alert to download an adobe flash player when trying to watch video on youtube or PBS. I have never had any problems and have owned for years. Hoping someone can help me problem solve this & possibly walk me thru the steps ?

I can't watch Youtube videos on my Nokia 5300,as i get a message saying i need adobe flash player or java, the latter which i've got and is also enabled.
I've tried to download adobe flash player, but to no avail, if anyone knows where, and how i can download/install this directly onto my phone or via PC it would be very much appreciated.

I don't think you can watch youtube videos within the browser of the phone.
I don't think there is anyway to stream them unless maybe if you go to www.m.youtube.com.

What browser are you using? So you have a website pulled up and it is a full screen flash player trying to play or is it a area of the page with a player claiming on the player to install flash?

2. Check your add-ons or extensions, depending on the browser for what they are called. Make sure Flash Player extensions are enabled. That allows it to play within a webpage.
3. Check your Flash Player settings itself. There are settings where you restrict, approve, and so on in different ways. The link I shared with help guide you.
4. Check parental settings. My son plays on this parental control software that always restricts the Flash Player with his games, or videos on Disney, Nick, and other channel websites.
5.I used to have a computer that claimed this all the time. It drove me crazy. I found out for that computer that it did not like an update so I uninstalled and reinstalled flash player. I made sure the Adobe page showing the Flash Player was reinstalled correctly came up, then closed all my browser pages, then reopened to make sure not permission spot popped up to ok for future use.

Hi, Don't use that DLM(download manager) since it can cause a problem.
Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Uninstaller:

Close all browser windows, you only want to be looking at your Desktop.
Disable any messenger services, as yahoo, msn, etc in the system tray(area near the clock)
Disable any Realtime Anti-Virus until you have finished Uninstalling and Installing Flash Player
Be sure to use the Administrator Account.
Run the Uninstaller and when finished, Reboot(restart) your computer.
Check to make sure the Anti-Virus is still Disabled
Run the Installer for IE, and when finished, Reboot.
Re-enable your Anti-Virus
Then go to this test site and test each browser:

I have tried downloading the adobe flash player 11 because if i dont have this i cant access the things I like doing on my computer. So i clicked on it and followed the indtructions but then it told me to close programs listed, so i did. After i did that it installed 50% then said error: applications running or something like that.All of my apps and things are not running, i have checked. Adobe no longer supports Flash on Android. Adobe doesn't recommend this (this versions have vulnerabilities) but if you really want it, you can try installing an old version from their archives - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html#Flash%20Player%20archives (you'll have to scroll down to find the Android versions).

Deactivate progressive download in Adobe Flash Player

Concerning progressive download in Adobe Flash Player, I have these questions:
1) Is it possible to deactivate or disable progressive download in Adobe Flash Player? For instance, if I want to watch a 30 minute video on a video site, and I have Adobe Flash Player installed, then by clicking on the video link, Adobe Flash Player will automatically begin to progressively download the file, thus enabling me to watch the video while it is being downloaded. At the end of the download, the entire 30 minute video file is stored in a temporary folder on my computer's hard disc. Supposing I don't want that file to be fully downloaded unto my harddisk, what options do I have to prevent Adobe Flash Player from progressively downloading the said file?
2) Since Adobe Flash Player utilizes progressive downloads, what happens to the downloaded file? Will it be automatically deleted when the browser is closed, or will it remain in the temporary folder?
3) Are there any settings which I can to configure either on the operating system or in the browser which will prevent or deactivate progressive download?

What are local storage settings?
Applications that run in Adobe Flash Player may want to store some information on your computer, but the amount they can store is limited to 100 kilobytes unless you agree to allocate additional space. Local storage settings let you specify how much disk space, if any, applications from a particular website can use to store information on your computer. Note that it is the person or company that has created the application you are using that is requesting such access, not Adobe (unless Adobe has created the application that wants to save the information).
