I keep getting an email telling me someone has used my Apple id to purchase an app

Your Apple ID was just used to purchase Grudge Match (2014) from the iTunes Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID. You may also be receiving this email if you reset your password since your last purchase.
If you made this purchase, you can disregard this email. It was only sent to alert you in case you did not make the purchase yourself.
If you did not make this purchase, we recommend that you go to <link> to change your password, then see <link> or further assistance.
Regards,
Apple

No matter how cleverly designed phishing emails are, the telltale characteristic is the URL displayed when you hover over the live link (some email clients make it a bit more challenging to see the URL, but one can do it). It MAY have 'apple' in it somewhere to give it more credibility, but it should be pretty clear it is not from Apple.com <- ALL apple URLs will have this domain.
Further, it is not recommended that you paste the body of phishing emails here as the nefarious links the phisher wants you to click is now alive in this forum. Not to worry, I will ask our gracious Hosts to edit the link(s) out for posterity.

I keep getting a message that my ID has been disabled when trying to download an app. I have changed password with apple. Any ideas what is wrong?

If you've changed your password and it still shows disabled then try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on it
If that doesn't fix it then you might need to contact iTunes Support :  http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • Someone used my apple account to purchase two apps....

Someone used my apple account to purchase two apps totaling $10 (luckily it was left over gift card credit).  Who should I contact at Apple about that or is there anything I can do?  I already changed my password, but I would like the credit back. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Has anyone gotten an email stating that someone in Spain used your Apple ID to purchase an app? Spam or not?

I have received 2 emails stating that someone purchased an app (TuneIn Radio Pro) using my Apple ID, but when I review my account in ITunes or the App Store on my computer, there are no purchases that are unknown. The email also states that it was purchased from Spain and the bottom of the email that tells the company name and address it has Hispanic characters in it. I am assuming it's a spam email but I just want to make sure.
    Thanks for any help!

It's a scam.  They'll typically want you to click a link if you didn't buy it, which then prompts you to sign in with your Apple ID and provide your credit card.  The website will look like an Apple one, but it won't be, and they'll steal your info.
You can forward it to [email protected]

You should also enable two-factor authentication to prevent future hacking.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5570
As to the how, there are too many ways to enumerate all of them. This sort of thing happens all the time. Make sure you're using a good password, be cautious on unsecured wireless networks (ie, those that do not require a password), use the two-factor authentication, etc.

  • HT5312 I keep getting an email from Apple telling me that my Apple Id has been successfully reset when I did not reset them.  Started early June 2013 and in a month i have had to reset it three times. Apple support was not helpful.  Any suggestions?

I keep getting an email from Apple telling me that my Apple Id has been successfully reset.  I did not reset it.  Since early June 2013 to now i have had to reset it 3 times.  It is not an easy one to remember either. Initally I thought it was some pfishing expedition but no purchases have been confirmed by my visa.  My kids use my Apple Id to download APs and I am informed when this happens.  Nothing strange happening on the financial site at all. Just frustrating as we have to keep updating the ID to use messenger, I cloud etc on all of the devices.  I called Apple Support and the girl initally said she knew nothing about this but then spoke to someone else and they are aware of this ongoing problem and are working on it.  Any suggestions? Are others having the same problems?

If the system didn't ship with Mountain Lion originally and you didn't purchase Mountain Lion yourself, then you will need to purchase. A purchase by the system's original owner cannot be transferred to you.
Unless you have another system on which you have purchased Mountain Lion, you will need to first install Mac OS X 10.6.8 on the iMac, for which you'll need either the original installation disks, if the iMac came with 10.6, or a retail copy of 10.6. Install 10.6 and upgrade to at least 10.6.6, and then you can buy Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store, presuming of course that the imac can support Mountain Lion. See:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade/

I keep getting an email from Apple telling me my account is expired. Is this legit or is it a scam?

  • Keep getting unreadable emails that say theyr'e sent from my email address sometimes every minute

I keep getting undelivered mail with attachments which say they have come from me, its all rubbish with the words all messed about, the last one came from America, Is it because I don't have a spam folder so that they are sitting in my in box, and what do I need to do, as soon as I hover over them they open. how on earth do all these people have my email address. Any help please would be greatly appreciated.

    Yes, you've guessed it.
Someone is abusing and using your email address.
They are randomly sending to a load of email address which they hope will get a response. If any email address is not valid or blocking, then you will receive the Mailor daemon message that it is undelivered.
This at least tells you that someone has used your email address.
    Do not respond to anything.
    Do not open any attachement.
    Delete those emails.
Just in case any of your contacts have received one of these emails, you should alert them to the fact.
Send them an email stating that someone is abusing your email address.
Suggest you add a specific signature to your emails and tell your contacts that anything genuinely from you will have your signature. Tell them not to open an attachment and delete those emails. Usually, they do not even look like they came from the alledged sender.
What you need to assess is whether this is just someone spoofing your email address (more common) or whether your computer or account have been compromised.
Reboot computer in safe mode and run your anti-virus software.
change passwords after checking no malware on computer - key logging etc.
You cannot stop this kind of abuse.
You can help to try to avoid this by never disclosing your email address in any forum etc.
Sometimes people forward emails they think are amusing etc, but they do not remove the email addresses before forwarding, so after the email has been forward a zillion times, who knows how many people may end up knowing your email address.

  • In iPhoto, when i try to email a photo using "share", I keep getting"username/password" not recognized. It used to work automatically before.

I cannot email  a photo using iPhoto "share. I keep getting "username/password not recognized". I used to use this function all the time but all of a sudden, I keep getting this message.

In iPhoto, open Preferences (under iPhoto in the menu bar) and click the "Accounts" tab on top.  Make sure your email account(s) is/are set up there correctly, just as they are in Apple's Mail.  Make sure the password in included.

keep getting error 101 telling me i dont have enough space on my hd , i hav 48 gigs left

This is likely being caused due to the location you are selecting to download the install files too.  Where did you select to download the install files?  I would recommend using the default which is your User folder or your Desktop.
Alternately you can follow the steps listed at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369 to initiate a direct download.

  • Keep getting same email everyday from 1 year ago

Everyday, I keep getting an email that  was sent to me a year ago.  I delete it off the phone and it still comes back daily.  How to do I stop this?
    Thanks

Is it also showing up as new yearly in your email server?
If so, go and delete the message there and/or set a filter to block that email.
Otherwise, it might be some issue with the sender's account or their email server of which you have no control over.

  • I had $100 in my account. Got an email telling me someone was trying to download "掌上三国". I restore my password only to see my money's gone. What can I do?

I had $100 in my account. Got an email telling me someone was trying to download "掌上三国". I restore my password only to see my money's gone. What can I do?
The most horrible thing is that I got two emails from Apple: One saying that I was purchasing the above item with a device not linked to my account... the second email said I downloaded the item to a device not linked to my account (why does Apple permit this anyway?)
Is there a way to recover my money?
    Thanks in advance.
